To start, we get the Loaded Tots. Crispy golden tater tots, smothered in a spicy queso that is faintly reminiscent of Thousand Island; giardiniera including pickled jalapenos and carrot strips; scallions; and sweet, sweet bacon. This is the kind of appetizer that you just can’t stop eating. I keep picking at it with my fork...one tot, two tot, three tot, four. Soon, they are all gone. While not exactly a culinary masterpiece, they do satisfy with a playful hearkening back to middle school lunchroom fare. In past, the tots have been prepared differently, so perhaps Bar Louie tweaks the style occasionally? After all that heavy potato and dressing, I decide to mix it up a bit. (Sometimes I order food just to throw a curveball either at my dining companions or my server. Not only do I get the pleasure of shocking someone, I get to try something completely different. It’s like I’m the Minister of Silly Woks.) I have whittled my choices down to a few, so I listen to what everyone else is ordering, then I let fly: Blackberry, Orange & Brie Salad. Now, this is not your normal salad. It’s a heaping helping of chopped greens, covered in a tangy vinaigrette, orange slices, pecans, basil, and bacon. Little wedges of brie stand sentry at the four corners of the plate. But where are the actual blackberries? I flag down the waitress and she explains the blackberries are represented in the dressing. I’m not buying it, and put on my pouty face. She offers to scrounge some up and soon I am happily munching away. (Only later do I re-read the menu and see that, clearly, there should have been blackberries on the salad in the first place.) JC’s Voodoo Chicken looks pretty damn good (he reports the rice is undercooked), and RC’s Southwest Burger sans jalapenos also seems to fit the bill. Our server is brusque and efficient, but not overly friendly. For an impromptu dinner, Bar Louie puts out decent enough tavern food to warrant returning when the weather is warm and the patio is open.

Took the gf out last night after a nice long day, decided to give bar Louie a try because Id been hearing about it on wgrd for awhile now. Got there and they were pretty well packed, we werent in a huge hurry so we figured why not. Sat down at a table, pretty close to a wait station, there were plenty of wait staff around. At one point 4 standing at that station, all looked like they were working not just talking. Had waitresses walk past our table 5 times between 3 different waitresses. Saw 2 other small groups come in after us and sit down and promptly get waited on in different sections, at this point we had been sitting there for about 8-10 min. Another guy comes in and sits at the table literally right next to us, his friend joins him and they instantly get service.... wait to see if the waitress is going to help us, she doesnt. So after about a total of 15 min sitting there getting ignored we left. And will never be going back.

We just went to Bar Louie GR for my husbands birthday, and we have a great time! We went at the start of Happy Hour, and we have a great waitress Kate, who did an awesome job. My husband got a couple $1 burgers and I got the spinach artichoke dip, which was delicious. He also got a couple short Founders drafts and I got a couple martinis, which were all great. The bartenders did a great job! And we didnt have to wait long for either the drinks or any of the food. Fast, good service. And the atmosphere was great too. A great, fun easy going place to hang out. We went on a Tuesday night. I imagine its a lot more hopping on a Friday or Saturday night. And because it was his birthday, my husband got a free dessert. All in all it was a fun night we will for sure be going again!

This place would not put pepperoni on a kids pizza for me and my son. A very rude manager explain to me they didnt do substitutions for one thing thats not a substitution thats an addition and what place does not have a pepperoni pizza on a kids menu?!? That was three years ago so recently I went in there thought Id give them a try again I asked how much for an Angry Orchard and a very rude bartender acted annoyed that I was asking how much my drink would cost he told me the price walked off and I turned around and walked out this place sucks! If youre at the mall looking for something to eat try on the border or Red Robin or go across the street to Uccellos much better food much better service at all 3 places than at this dump.

I used to live very near to Bar Louie, and until they raised their prices, frequently ate here. They have good food, but quite honestly you can do better for the price. They also have serious problems service (I should qualify this: I havent been to BL in ~6 months). 75% of the time that I went to BL, Id be annoyed or frustrated by the (lack of) service. One of the waiters was downright rude -- hed say things like "oh ... you guys are in my section ... thats too bad because I know you guys dont like me." Which wasnt true at all. I didnt have a problem with him -- I had a problem with waiting 8-10 minutes for another drink when mine ran dry.

I watched a chubby waitress from bar louie walk out of the restaurant in a really unappealing skirt...with her butt cheeks literally HANGING OUT. To my horror our cars were in the same direction and the wind caught her skirt a few more times exposing her entire bottom. No only did she do NOTHING to stop this from happening, but she wasnt wearing ANY underpants at all... Shirts have to have armpits in all restaurants, so I think your girl should learn to cover up her bush and bum. I wanted to puke. I cant IMAGINE that you let her work in that uniform and then you let her leave your restaurant wearing that skirt and your bars name on it.

Ok so we went to Bar Louie because our friend told us that they have great drink specials. We got there around 9pm and were immediately seated. A server came up an said "I am not your server but i can get you some drinks." 10 minutes later I watched a group of servers motioning towards our table and arguing about who was going to take us. My husband and i put up the menu and waited for our bill so that we could leave. A server did not come to talk to us for another 20 minutes. Horrible. I will never go back.

My husband and i have been meaning to stop in everytime we hit the mall.. we finally made a special trip out to bar louie just to test it out-- and now its one of our favorites! Loved the dinner- i had the bbq/bacon burger, and my husband had tacos that he loved! the drinks are amazing- martinis for both of us. It was so good, that we went back for a second night in a row just for drinks and an appetizer! cannot wait to try even more that they have to offer.

The bartenders are more interested in their phones than the customer. I didnt even get a chance to order food before I finished my first tall beer. I had to actually ask for my check twice before I could get it. I shouldnt have to wave down a bartender to get their attention. We were looking forward to a nice dinner but we couldnt even get service. The place wasnt even busy. We ended up going next door and waiting 20 mins for a table instead.
