Food 5 stars, atmosphere 1 star I used to love this place. My wife and I would come here a few times a month and always order the same things. Management changed a few months back, and now we dont like it nearly as much as we once did. The food still tastes the same, but the new owner makes us feel very uncomfortable. He insists on talking to you while you are trying to eat, and tries to make jokes with no idea that the joke is most unwelcome. Once he made fun of me for ordering basmati rice without ordering curry to eat with it - he said eating white rice plain was a very strange thing and called me weird for doing it, laughing at me the entire time. We went in today on Mothers Day, and he was wishing everyone who walked through the door a Happy Mothers Day if they had a woman with them - which made my wife and I uncomfortable when he wished us the same. A party of four came in - presumably two mothers and their daughters - and he told the younger women that the best gift they could give their mothers was to make them grandmothers. They all chuckled uncomfortably and he kept pushing. One of the older women said "youre telling the wrong two", and one of the girls said "I can get you a grand-dog, maybe?" and he KEPT PUSHING! No social boundaries whatsoever! Even though the food is good and the restaurant is fairly local, we have decided we never want to go here again. The entire time we were eating tonight we had to turn away from him and pretend to have a conversation with one another just so he wouldnt try to speak with us. It was awkward and we want no part of it again.

While the food is typical for Indian cuisine there are plenty that are far better in the area and for less money. One such example is Apna Punjab. The main website of Ayur Shri falsely advertised this as being "the only Indian Restaurant in Southern Massachusetts". Though Im not surprised as the owner comes off as a smug jerk that feigns intelligence and hides behind ignorant passive aggressive hostility. This only foreshadows his lack of intellect when he has nothing intelligent to say. I feel sorry for him as it seems like he is oblivious of the fact he says many things that make everyone uncomfortable and are too nice to tell him to go away. Some of these things as noted below are racist/sexist and Im disappointed in his lack of professionalism. The rest of the staff and the previous owner and staff were professional and pleasant. The current owner can learn a thing or two about discipline and appropriate business behavior from the other staff or even a book on common sense. At any rate, while the food is decent this stain on the franchise ruins the dining experience with his mere presence. PS to the owner Ill pray for you.

Stay Away! If you know what quality Indian food is...you will be disappointed with this restaurant! The owners have intentionally "watered down" the quality of the food to increase their profit margins! The buffet is pathetic as well! The owner is apparently cutting back on the quantity of the meat dishes that you would expect to get from buffet. More importantly, the prices arent consistent with the "watered down" food quality! The original owner that operated the restaurant provided the best quality dishes, with prices that were equally consistent and fair. The current owners, operates the restaurant like the stereotypical cheap Indians, and are intentionally selling "Indian Slop" to a bunch of clueless locals, that are unknowingly raving about how good they think the food is! LMFAO

I first went to Ayur Shri a couple years ago, and I fell in love. Not only is their food some of the best (Indian) food Ive ever had, but the restaurant itself is beautiful; on the outside, it makes me think of a treehouse, and on the inside, its quaint and small and homey. Customer service is always the best, especially from Mitra. Ive brought friends and family since then and weve all become addicted! I live about 45 minutes away but I never hesitate to travel there when I get a craving for Indian food, and I still go about once a month. I will be a loyal customer forever—I love Ayur Shri.

bold flavors, fresh food, amazing naan and malai! I truly enjoy the vegetarian options as they are many and hearty...something a true vegetarian can enjoy. My group has had the kabobs and we all love the fresh naan bread. The owner is social and rather funny-very confident. I am big on Indian food. Sometimes Ive had the same dish on different days and theres been a variation of which flavors are dominant, but Ive never experienced anything negative here. service is great. food is great. location and ambiance is A+. If youre nearby, go here!

Best restaurant experience Ive had in a long time. Went there for the first time for dinner today, Im absolutely blown away. It was awesome. Not only is the food delicious it is also good for you. We were greeted at the door by our kind and courteous server, the owner talked to us about the food and was great with my daughter, there was wonderful, calm Indian music playing, and a comfortable atmosphere. Im picky about food and I really loved it, my three-year old and boyfriend did also. Will definitely be going back.

Cant believe this place is even called fine Indian cuisine. Bland and watery curries, uncooked bread, cold rice. People who eat here definitely don’t know how Indian food tastes. Was there for lunch buffet and totally disappointed. Worst Indian food I ever had. Not sure what did they serve in the name of deserts. No service, you will have to ask for water, as they are busy serving larger group. Total disappointment. Wish I could give zero or negative marks.

Very slow. We were there for almost an hour and a half (which if youve had Indian you know is a long time). There were only 2 people serving the entire restaurant. The naan was average. The currys we got were pretty good. Id say on the better side of things. I just cant justify spending $16 for a small curry plate. Essentially the same thing you get for lunch for twice as much. Well head into providence for our Indian food from now on.

Very friendly and cozy restaurant. Food is phenomenal and the wait staff are incredible. We forgot to order naan with our entrees, and when we did order it as our food came out the start making a fresh one immediately, and we had it within a couple of minutes. The portions at first look small. But in reality theyre quite large. I got two full dinners out if my one order of curry. I highly recommend this place, best Indian food around.

Always some tasty food at the buffet. I like the buffet so much, and work during their dinner hours (buffet ends in the afternoon), so I havent tried anything off their menu in a while, but the buffet is a great place to introduce someone new to Indian food to Indian food, or get some great Indian food variety for yourself. I usually end up trying every offering, and am rarely not enthusiastic about what is put out.

This place has my fave chicken tikka masala Ive had since moving to The States from the UK. Our friends and my husband and I all ordered our dishes and a bunch of random apps and we were all impressed by everything we got. Only thing that was complained about was the Jalfreze, the husband said it wasnt hot enough but he has to complain about something no matter what so Im not sure how seriously I take his complaint.
