We sat at the bar and ended up eating a crabcake with our hands. It was OK, maybe tasting better since we ate it like cavemen. The sweat potato fries and onion rings were good too. But everything else was bad on that Saturday evening. After asking twice for water and silverware we enjoyed life without. The food was not good at all. They cut their own fries but either dont know that you need to soak it in water or dont do it properly because the fries are discolored and limp. The risotto couldnt be any worse. do not, under any circumstances, buy the risotto! Its cooked in chicken broth with too much cheese food product on top to hide the lack of flavor. No subtle deliciousness here. Speaking of poorly cooked foods, the fried fish special was not crusty at all and the corn on the cob was undercooked. The Brussel sprouts are cooked in bacon and lots of butter and margarine with no spices. They really need to work on their menu and their cooking line. We noticed the couple behind us sent back their bread appetizer which couldnt be more of a joke. They also made the disappointing choice and got the risotto and they were equally not happy with it. We ordered the crabcake to eat instead of the risotto. The scallops that went with the risotto were simple and decent enough not too have any complaints but you wont get your fill from 4 or 5 scallops. If you have to eat here Id suggest a salad or a burger with onion rings and sweat potato fries. Those sides appear to be frozen and they are pretty good at frying them at least. Like the other reviewers said, youre better off eating at King Fisher where they actually have some decent food and some decent cooks. Maybe cd cafe if you like to try your luck with some delicious specials. Its been a day and I havent gotten sick so thats where the second star comes into play in my rating.

Amazingly awful experience at this place. The waitress seemed to mess up our orders from the beginning, confused by my order of a dish as an entree (there was a smaller version available for appetizer, but I emphasized entree at least 5 times). She also somehow brought out a red wine for someone in my party who ordered a sauv blanc. I cant figure out how that one worked out. Needless to say, there were countless errors in our order. I also asked the waitress what beers they had, and was told "everything," only to be pointed to a short list highlighted by the bud/coors variety. The only higher quality beers they had ran out after we placed our order, and this happened twice. The food was brought out inconsistently, with some of us getting our entrees 30 minutes before others. After waiting for one last outstanding meal, the waitress admitted that she forgot the order and proceeded to place it with the kitchen. When the food did arrive, it was of the lowest quality. The house salad was topped with a shredded cheddar that Im fairly sure was fresh out of the bag of Kraft shredded cheese from Food Lion, and the entree would have been better if I made it at home. In their defense, the "pomme frites" (fries) and chocolate lava cake were tasty, but not nearly enough to rescue this abortion of a meal. On the whole, the food was terrible, the service was beyond abysmal, and its not worth wasting your time or money to ever go here. Id recommend kingfishers, right next door, to show you how its properly done.

This place is absolutely terrible. We had a retirement luncheon there this week for 50+ people. They had ONE server for us, who was also the bartender for the event. You couldnt get any type of beverage once the food was being served because the bartender was busy bringing out food (Which took over 45 minutes for everyone to be served. I waited an hour and 20 minutes for my food. The burger I ordered was terrible. Way overcooked, and the bun was old and crumbling. Id say about 80% of the people in attendance for this event had issues with their food. Issues ranging from fish being undercooked, to being ripped off (Three silver dollar sized crab cakes for $17.00) to salads with just lettuce and chicken that was obviously left over from the day prior. To add to it, the bartender/server was also the one person who collected payment at the end of the event. The line for that was long and slow. A few people needed to go back to work (Because they had been there for two and a half hours due to slow service), so they went to the bar and asked the bartender if they could get their tickets so they could pay. His reply was "You ladies need to go sit down." My advice is to stay the hell away from this place, and by all means, do not even think about having any kind of event here.

This used to be one of my favorites restaurants to fine, but after visiting on Friday April 21, 2017 I will not return. My husband and I have visited here on several occasions, we even brought family from out of town here. We ordered out drinks last night and they were horrible so we asked our waiter to removed them from our bill, he insisted on us trying something different. He bought the new drinks out and they still were horrible. He asked us if we didnt like them and we replied no and we asked him to remove them from our bill. He didnt remove them so we didnt tip him. We paid our bill which was $86 and walked outside. The manager came running up to us yelling to us about why we didnt leave a tip. I tried to explain to her that they didnt remove the drinks, she said she did but when I showed her the receipt she proceeded to yell and said that she will not serve us again and to get off of the property as to another young guy started yelling also. That was unprofessional and she even call the police. I will never attend this restaurant again and I will spread the word to my friends of this horrible experience.

I have eaten at Stoneys a number of times in the past, but have been away for about 4 years.Their crab cakes were the standard by which I judged all others. Something has changed. Instead of large pieces of juicy jumbo lump crab barely held together by filler, it was a homogenized mess that tasted bitter and over-processed. It reminded me of the nasty "fish cakes" that came in the frozen TV dinners of my youth. Two shots of whiskey later, the taste was still in my mouth. The salad was nice, and the onion rings were the star of the the show. But MD is the home of the crab cake, and I can make better at home (for a fraction of the price) using frozen crab that I can buy in the supermarket. Im done with Stoneys.
