Trista Jernigan
Hello there- Im not typically one to complain- especially about my favorite sushi place, however, I had a terrible experience last night at this restaurant and would really like it corrected. So far, I have called and still not had any luck, anyone I speak to just takes my name and number and nothing is resolved. Last night, my boyfriend ordered take out at 5:30pm, and when I came to pick it up at 6pm, the waitress refused to give me my order because she had "spoken to a man, whos name was Tristan" and mistakenly written down "Tristan" instead of my name, Trista. I told her multiple times that the order itself on the slip was correct, I apologized for my boyfriend who mumbles on the phone, that my name is Trista, and I would just take it. She proceeded to argue with me that I was wrong, and it was not mine. Finally she took my card, to what I assumed was- pay for my order, however, she paid for the other order that I had TOLD her was not mine, because it was a womans name on the slip, she was firm that it was mine, even after a ten minute argument that it wasnt. So at this point- my debit card had been charged $18.31 for an order that was not mine. After telling her AGAIN that it was not mine, and that my order was $49.85, she finally realized her mistake and completely walked away from the situation and passed me on to another man who called somebody on his cell phone and disappeared. When he came back out, they struggled to get my card to work because of the previous hold on the card and I was told multiple times there was nothing that could be done. The man behind the counter did not believe me that my card had already been charged, I have online banking and could see the money taken out instantly. Eventually I handed him my card and paid for both orders in hopes of having it taken care of this morning by management, because after being in there for 45 minutes, not listened to, and charged $68.16 for an employees mistake, that they were completely rude about, I just wanted to go home and eat my food. This whole ordeal lasted from 6pm-6:45, ending with me paying not only for both orders, but taking home freezing cold, disgusting old sushi that had been sitting for nearly 2 hours and could not be eaten. I want a refund. This is the most frustrating and ignorant situation I have encountered at this place. The only one, actually. Im unsure why the customer needs to argue to have an order corrected, by a waitress who argued with me over a simple "N" being added to my name, and now nobody will take responsibility and Im the one who loses money over it. I will never be back here, and that makes me sad, because Ting is a genius, Andrew, Tiffany, and Jen are some of the BEST staff that establishment could ask for. You should truly educate your staff about how they need to be speaking and dealing with customers.

On any given evening you can find Lilian, Ting and/or Michael working in the restaurant. That level of commitment shines through in their hospitality. For the quality of service, and the value, I continue to be a loyal customer. Standard fare for a sushi restaurant as well as a few special rolls. My personal favorite is the tuna mango salad - but youll be excited that they offer vegetarian rolls and brown rice as well. Its not a 3 star michelin sushi experience, but you arent paying that either - great value and bang for your dining dollar.

Inspired, excellent and always holds my interest. Ive been following Ting around for close to 15 years and Im always learning something new. This is the only place that I deliberately eat out at and its an incredible value. Also to note Im a sober person. I feel incredibly safe at Yoshi which is not always the case around here. I find most other places in the greater Bangor area are bars... that happen to have food. This is something Portland has over Bangor. They lead with their food. Yoshi has that. The best.

I am a foodie and I have dined at many places in the Bangor area and I find Yoshi to be the BEST. Outstanding ownership that is genuinely pleased to see you every time you dine at this fine establishment. The chefs and the staff are always friendly and extremely helpful - no matter if it is your first time dining there or your hundredth time. The sushi, sashimi, soups and all the food items are "out of this world"! #Ambrosia #Excelsior

Yoshi Sushi is my favorite Oriental restaurant in Bangor/Brewer area. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes the chefs prepare are flavorful, balanced and generous. We never feel rushed when we are there. I would allow a little extra time as this is a restaurant to savor the food and enjoy the company of those you are with rather than dine and dash.

If you want great, authentic Japanese food, this is about the only place in the greater Bangor area to get it. There is even tatami seating. The sushi, the miso soup, their katsu, rice bowls, tempura, its all very good. I have yet to have a disappointing meal there. It is a small place and it is sometimes crowded on weekend evenings, so get there early then, or order take out.

Absolutely loved the traditional Japanese seating option here, you had to take your shoes off and everything! You wouldnt of guessed that this place existed in the area, and is very unassuming until you go inside! The sushi and miso was great, definitely my go to place for Japanese food in Bangor.

So I took my girlfriend here, the atmosphere is pleasant, the service was fantastic, and the food was excellent. Only place in the area that I know of that makes Bento boxes too, which are awesome. Keep up the good work Yoshis, my girlfriend and I will definitely be recurring customers.

The best ever!!! Amazing service, high quality food, fresh ingredients, flavor that makes you say wow. The only downside is the feeling of sadness when you just cant eat anymore because youre so stuffed! I am never disappointed or ever had a bad experience here. Go to yoshi right now

Yoshi is the go to place for my wife and I when we are looking to have Japanese food. The flavor is always great and the food is always fresh. The staff is always friendly and helpful as well. All in all, this is one of our favorite places to visit when in the mood to dine out.

Was great food however last time I went our waitresses completely ignored us ( was not that busy) she forgot our team and when she did bring it, it was nothing but hot water. When our food arrived (sushi rolls and stirfry) 50minutes had passed such a shame food is so good too.

Very good sushi. After the initial, partial delivery came out quickly the rest came out very slowly - think they may be understaffed. Service was very friendly despite slowness, though. Highly recommended, unless you are in even a little bit of a hurry.

I have eaten sushi from Japan, Massachusetts, California, you name it...I still love coming back to this place. Ting and mikey are a great team and not only is the sushi great, the variety and kitchen is also phenomenal. Definitely a must try.
