I have been going here for years out of convenience, although being cash/check only in this age is eye roll worthy. Not too dingy/dirty and have some find memories of it, but could use a decent makeover interior wise as well as the menu. It is mediocre/typical Americanized Chinese food for the most part, and I feel that even the more authentic menu holds back/is somewhat bland. I stopped going after a wrong order, and I actually came back to switch out but when I got home I found two dead flies in the dish I came back to have them correct after I had been thinking of getting this all day long. Years of going here and never had the problem, so I wonder if it was spiteful? Who knows, but never bothering with settling for the place again.

Ive been living in Bloomington for five years and have tried a lot of the Chinese places on the East side of town, and Dragon is still by far my favorite. It looks like a dump, but the quality is consistently good and the prices are MUCH fairer than any other place this side of town. I have heard that the meat dishes can be touch-and-go, but the vegetable and tofu dishes have never given me a problem and have always been delicious with very fresh vegetables. Dragon also doesnt use MSG, which is rare among Chinese places with comparable prices.

(NOTE: CASH ONLY) Five years ago, I would have easily given this place a 4 or even a 4.5, but now, the quality is so low. They rush their orders so much that they BARELY cook their chicken anymore -- it is borderline RAW most of the time. The old owner retired, and the new people just dont seem like they have the same passion as the old man did. Its alright in a pinch, but definitely no longer one of the better Chinese food places in town.

I think all Chinese food is overpriced for what goes into it, but considering that Dragon Express tastes ten times better than all the other "fast" Chinese restaurants around campus, I guess its give and take. I definitely prefer this place over House of Hunan or Peach Garden. I recommend the Mongolian beef, but the sauce for the sweet and sour chicken is a little on the gelatinous side.

Dragon Express looks like a horrible restaurant and the guy who gives you your food just plops orders in front of people without asking who gets what. But with that said, this is still my favorite Chinese restaurant in B-town. The prices are nice -- and most importantly -- the food is delicious. I recommend the Mu Shu pork, the Hunan chicken, and the Singapore Maifun for starters.

While you cant exactly give Dragon Express much credit for atmosphere, theyre good where it counts. For an average of $5-6 dollars, you can get a complete meal for considerably better quality than what Id expect for the price. Excellent choice for students eating out on a budget - wonderful alternative to big chain fast food stores.

With an enormous list of lunch and dinner specials priced between $4 and $6 you cannot go wrong. Seems to be the only Chinese restaurant with veggie specials. You can always get your rice white or veggie fried and sub the pork egg roll for a veg egg roll. Always fast, cheap, and delicious.

Everything is extremely hot, but once it cools it is some of the best Chinese takeout in town. This and noodle town are the only places I know of that serve chow fun in Bloominton, a sweet flat noodles dish. Never had a disappointing meal and the price is great.

Worst Chinese Ive ever had in my life. Got the chicken chow mein and the noodles were stale and it had zero flavor. Also got the chicken lo mein and it was horrid. Zero flavor. Never going back. I had a little bit and packed the rest up and threw it in the trash.

Typical brown sauce bland ethnic joint. They do offer some real China dishes on a separate menu. I stick with the vegatavle lo mein, the dumplings and the double cooked spicy pork (because it is actually somewhat spicy and has lots of cabbage in it).

So far, the best Chinese food I have found in Bloomington. Favorites include hot and sour soup, crab rangoon, steamed dumplings, and curry beef. Got the pork fried rice and it tasted like it got burnt/too hot. Hopefully, an isolated incident.

The Dragon Express is a Bloomington treasure. Its delicious, cheap, and fresh! I love the general Tsos chicken, crab Rangoon, dumplings, and hot and sour soup. Keep up the good work Dragon! :)

Do you want cheap Chinese food that meets all the requirements of cheap Chinese food? If so, you cant go wrong at the dragon. My tip for tofu dishes, ask for extra crispy tofu.

Very tasty lo mein, I used to live near here and went there all the time. Everyone is very nice and the prices are reasonable. It is cash only but definitely still worth it.

Idk what kind of meat youre using for beef but it isnt beef lol other than that the chicken is good and fried rice is aight. Youre probably better off going to zc teriyaki

Very inexpensive, especially the lunch specials. The food is fair to good, unless you dont tolerate oily foods well, in which case this place is not for you.
