OMG Delicious!! I plan company events for where I work and we wanted to have a pig roast as I have 90% spanish ratio in my company....Spoke to eric and we went from pig roast to his BBQ Ribs, Chicken and Pulled pork with corn, salad, cole slaw and his two muffins. To say my guys a very particular and after 14 years I am used to the complaint on something they guys did not LIKE food wise the events parts is always great....Now I am sorry that I didnt listen to erik and get the cowboy beans and mac n cheese..... TODAY WAS AWESOME....every single team member and family member raved about the ribs and the pork and asked me what Spanish restaurant I got it from.. No one believed that I got such awesome pork from a BBQ joint.....It was meaty, juicy cooked to perfection... Thanks Erik for once everything was a shining star........You cant beat this joint please go down and get some BBQ for your next gathering

Pig Rig is situated in a large, but not cramped plaza. The interior is humble and clean, with a few places to sit or stand and a typical deli feeling. The owner, Dan, is a nice guy and is happy to have you as a customer and talk to you about being a vet. The pulled pork, brisket, and ribs were all good quality and tasted great. The corn breads are not that great; one was supposed to be smoked but didnt taste it at all. The chili part of the chili mac was not that great, but I enjoyed the mac part as it wasnt thick and rich though it could have had more of the advertised smoked flavor. The portions are not too generous for the price paid. I will try the burnt ends and cowboy beans next time Im in.

Thanks to the Pig Rig BBQ tonight for hookin me up with some of the best BBQ ribs, smoked mac and cheese, cowboy beans (awesome stuff) and corn bread that I have ever had. So far to me its the best place this side of EVERYWHERE for BBQ. The front of the store has a small area for eating with just a couple of tables to sit at. Mostly take out, but you can sit in and eat it there too. The place is VERY clean. Even if you look through the serving area into the back where they prep the food, you can see it is a clean operation being run. I dont think you can go wrong with grabbing a bite to eat here. I just killed my diet because I couldnt resist eating it all when I got home.

I got "spoiled" by good BBQ when I lived in Texas for a few years, this place is as good as it gets for Connecticut BBQ!! I now work in the area, I loved the Pig Rig when they were down in front of Chefs, now that theyre in their "brick & morter" store, theyre just as good, if not better! I had the "Brown Cow", a brisket sandwich topped with the "Cowboy Beans", the brisket is super tender with just the right amount of smoke, the "Cowboy Beans" give it an even better texture and a little extra "kick" I usually get an extra side of the beans, too -- theyre that good!! I will and have made the Pig Rig one of regular spots for lunch!

I try and eat at Pig Rig every time Im in Wallingford. Their ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and perfectly made every time. The chili has a great kick to it and the baked beans are the best Ive ever had anywhere. The cornbread is thick and delicious and my favorite side, hickory smoked mac and cheese with bacon and pulled pork, is a must-try. Everyone who works there is super friendly and will strike up a conversation with anyone who walks through the door. You get the sense that they really care about their customers and making sure they enjoy their meal.

Been coming here for a little less than a year, and Ive consistently been impressed. Brenna and Dan run an awesome place, are always friendly, always give great recommendations, and add to the menu whenever possible. Everything is worth trying, but if you really want a treat, go for the ribs. Ill get a full rack combo and split it with someone, just be ready to be full. Those ribs are succulent, almost falling off the bone, and dangerously flavorful. Get the mac and cheese or cole slaw with it too. Go here once and youll keep going back.

Honestly, I was not impressed. I have had Carolina and Texas BBQ, and while I didnt expect it to compare to those, I did expect a decent plate of BBQ. The brisket felt like it was slow cooked, and was pulled pork consistency. I actually thought I was eating my grandmothers pot roast with a little bit of store bought BBQ sauce drizzles over the top. I couldnt finish it, and spent the rest of the day feeling terrible. If you are from Connecticut and have never experienced decent BBQ, than by all means go here. I will never be going back.

Amazing food!! Ive eaten here when they were in front of Chefs in Wallingford, and the other day I went with a friend. I tried the 3-piece rib lunch with cole slaw. The owner came out and gave my friend a sample of the beans and they were excellent. My friend also had smoked mac and cheese which was out of this world. The meat fell off the rib and practically melted in my mouth. I will definitely be coming back and I suggest to anyone reading this review to go out there and try some good BBQ!!

I have been from Maine to Florida and Maryland to California and I have had some GREAT BBQ.... and while I cannot not say that The Pig Rig beats the best BBQ I have had, it certainly ties it.... I have had BBQ at the Houston Rodeo and at Kansas State Fair .... I cant say I have had BETTER BBQ anywhere.... Smoked Mac is awesome and if you are lucky enough to get some ends, you are lucky indeed.... do yourself a favor and stop debating.... head on down and get some on ya!

The food is very good. Pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese is my favorite. The mac and cheese has a real smokey flavor to it with bits of bacon and pulled pork. The staff is always friendly. The chili is spicy and delicious, although its a little on the small size because it comes served on top of mac and cheese. The pulled pork has a lot of flavor; dont really need the delicious barbecue sauce.

Best BBQ in CT! Food is awesome, Staff s friendly and fast. I have known these guys since they were serving out of the trailer. You wont find friendlier faces, faster service or better food served anywhere else in New Haven County. Conveniently located just off the Parkways exit 66 and only a couple of minutes from I91 exit 68. Worth the trip from anywhere in CT.

Fantastic food, guys running the place obviously have an insane passion for what they do...they prove it over and over again not only in their cooking, but their customer service. Nothing phony about this place. A must have...The smoked mac and cheese....out of this world!!! (If you dont believe me, try it for yourself!) You will not be disappointed!!!

Authenticate BBQ! You wont find it better anywhere around. Dan and the team put out some AWESOME grub. From the huge racks of rib to the pulled pork to the burnt ends. Freshly smoked - never reheated. Ive been many times and the food is always dead on great. Great for a quick bit or get some take out for the family for dinner. Glad to see you open again!
