Awful hole-in-the wall place with sub-standard food that is not worth to be called American-Chinese food. You better off going to Panda Express for better ingredient and service. We ordered two dishes (one chicken and vegetable and the other called moogoo or mushroomchicken). Both are pretty much the same except one has bamboo and broccoli and the other has mushroom and green bean. The mushroom is not even the right kind of mushroom. The sauce is the SAME. You can choose between fried rice and steam rice. The rice they used is the cheap brand. The only difference between white and fried rice is that one is just rice and the other has soy sauce stir in it (there isnt peas, carrots, and egg in the stir fried). The orange chicken taste like it been through the sewage. This aftertaste is just awful. We came as a group of 5. The waiter tried to seat us all in a tiny booth and put a chair for the 5th person. It is not until I request for bigger table that the waiter mentioned that the middle table can be extended to seat 6. Overall, unsatisfied with the quality of food and service. No Asian (no self-respect Chinese) would call dishes offered as Chinese. If I could, I would give this place a zero star.

Ive only been to Grandview Palace a few times over the last few months, so I cant attest to other reviewers claims that the food quality has gone down hill, but I would definitely say the quality is near the bottom of that hill. Since this place is local, we have given it plenty of chances but I think were ready to say goodbye. The food is always overcooked, dry, and old-tasting, like it just sits in pots all day or for multiple days until someone orders it. The egg drop soup isnt even good, and thats hard to mess up! Egg drop shouldnt have a bunch (or even a strange sprinkle) of random veggies in it. The "egg rolls" taste rotten and are actually veggie spring rolls anyway. The staff is really nice and takeout orders are always ready super fast, so two stars for the only two good things about this place.

I have a yelp review of this place. Fantastic through & through. Ive been coming here since they moved from the original location on Fair Oaks + California (across the street from Huntington Memorial and Burger King. If tried everything on the menu. You cant go wrong with anything. The Sesame Chicken is my favorite dish although the Wor Wonton Soup is the best that Ive had in the SGV & SF Valleys. The staff is wonderful, polite, kind and really funny. Small quaint restaurant that will pick up in an instant. The best times to comes is during the lunch hour, yet thats the busiest time.

I spent most of Aug, Sep, and Oct in Pasadena this year, due to my mothers illness and passing. While there, Grandview Palace was for me not only a favorite dinner spot, but a refuge of sorts, thanks to the warmth of the owners and staff. The food is down to earth good Chinese, nothing fancy, consistently satisfying. I will be stopping here before the end of the year on my way from Sacramento to San Diego, for a good meal and to once more say thank you to these wonderful people. I highly recommend Grandview Palace.

I had dinner here last night with a couple of friends who love this place, it was my first time there. I am not a huge Chinese food fan, but their food was great, I ended up eating a lot more than I expected to. We ordered Mongolian beef, Fried Rich with pineapple, Lo Mein, and Orange chicken. The Orange chicken was especially good. It is a small and quiet place, but the food speaks for itself if you give it a try!

We ordered pan fried noodles with chicken for take out. We picked up rather got it delivered. The pan fried noodles came separate. They were completely dried out and burnt round the edges. The were totally inedible. Disgusting. This was probably the worst Chinese meal I have ever had. You can find a photo of the noodles I posted on here. Unbelievable.

I used to eat here YEARS ago when they were located on Fair Oaks. After losing their Fair Oaks restaurant, they opened a new one in Old Town a few years later. I was very happy to see them return. There are not a lot of decent Chinese Food restaurants in Pasadena. We are lucky to have this one.

Small but the food was delicious. It is difficult hard to find good Chinese food these days this might not look like nothing but the food was really excellent. My favorite Chinese place to go now.

Great food and great value. This is a simple restaurant and not a place to take a romantic date but great value for everyday chinese food. I go once a week and get lunch...

Cozy, casual, family run and friendly, the staff is very nice about substitutions due to allergies. One point off due to it being tiny with not much choice in beverages.

Food was hot, service was fast. Great setting because its quiet and just big enough. They bring you hot tea to your table, thats my deal breaker. Found my new spot.
