You want to go here. I want to go back. The shop is conveniently located near the river, marina and other businesses in the area. It is worth a short drive from Rt 2 to get a quality cup of coffee. There is a lovely little sitting area by the entrance that is welcoming and relaxing. The inside is clean, fresh and adorable. I was excited to walk over while taking a break from a day trip for work and am shocked no one else has posted raving reviews about this place. The coffee was delicious. Though I stick with black coffee I was very happy to hear they had almond milk available, to which I treated myself to a splash of. The prices are reasonable and options varietal. What really sold me on Gatherings was the kindness. After ordering my coffee, I reached into my purse only to realize I had left my wallet at home. Embarrassed, I asked them to cancel my order and explained why. Without hesitation, both women working kept filling my order and said "well you cant start a Monday like that. Enjoy your coffee." No amount of decor or menu offerings can ever outshine the experience of human interaction and kindness. Please support Gathering Grounds Coffee House. They are 5 stars.

If you are used to a good strong coffee dont go here. Ive had Mickey Ds premium roast with shot of espresso and flavoring that had better taste. Sorry this isnt a favorite on my list. Mr. Smiths in downtown Sandusky or Starbucks is my choice for my money.
