LIVE BUG IN SALAD. A live bug was in the tuna nicoise salad I just bought from Pret a Manger on Park Ave and 54th St! After eating almost 3/4 of the salad, making my way to the bottom of the salad box, the bug poked its head out and began crawling around. Needless to say, this was pretty shocking. Ive never had this experience in all my years of eating out or taking out food from restuarants in NYC or elsewhere. I took the salad back right away and the manager acted like it was no big deal. She made a comment that shes "the same way, doesnt like that when it happens", as if it is a fairly common occurrence. Troubling. Dont think Ill be going back there again. The managers nonchalance about the occurrence was pretty shocking.

Ive died and gone to lunch heaven. I cant speak to the actual store itself as my Pret A Manger lunch was catered to my job but oh boy they made quite the impression. Balsamic chicken with mescalin greens and avocado on 9 grain bread. TO DIE FOR. Pretty and fancy crisp and fresh tasting bottled water. Fresh fruit cup. Yum yum yum. My only qualm, none of the packaging is labeled so you kinda have to guess what youre getting. This Pret is right up the street from my job. I cant wait to go. Subway watch out youve got competition!

My rating is just for women. Theyll love the healthy ingredients, the freshness, the lightness of the food, the coffee drinks. Me, Im a guy: I burn more calories downing a $7 sandwich than the sandwich has. This is a stylish place with good recipes, a good selection, and good values -- at closing time, all the sandwiches go to City Harvest -- but if youve got a guy who wants to be fed, this is not the place to go.

This British import is a wonderful place for both excellent food and coffee. With locations springing up across the city and beyond this chain offers freshness in the way of food, coffee and customer service. Cookies baked fresh daily. Mouth watering pastries that will satisfy anyone. Hot foods and cold sandwiches to satisfy the choosiest customer. Take time and try this out you will never be disappointed.

The croissants were doughier than Ive come to expect from other Pret locations. Also, in spite of their posted opening time of 6:30, the doors were still locked at 6:45. Even after opening up, the shelves were nearly empty and only had left overs from what I assume was last nights leftovers. If youre not going to be ready to operate normally at the advertised opening, I suggest updating your posted hours.

This is a chain and while I usually prefer to go to local places when traveling, I needed to grab something quick for breakfast before my meeting in the area and this decided to stop by here. I am glad I did! Good place for breakfast. I had the Greek yogurt with granola and blueberry... Delicious and very filling. Great and fast service so its perfect when youre on a rush. Staffs were very friendly.

The fantastic baguette sandwiches and harvest cookies make this one of my favorite lunch places. The lines can be long but move VERY quickly and the staff always seem preternaturally cheerful. The coffee is a little weak, but its certainly drinakable. Meals cost around $10-$12 for a sandwich, coffee, and desert. I loved this chain in London and am very glad it seems to be doing so well in NYC.

I usually dont bother with chains but Ive always had a soft side for Pret. They have a location right near my office and Ill occasionally stop by for a sandwich. They are a bit expensive, but thats not surprising considering its the financial district and these places are always a bit more expensive than local bodegas and whatnot.

Pret a Manager is a good coffee shop type recent but more modern. The menu includes muffins, bagels, fresh fruit, assorted sandwiches including croissant. Coffee and herbal teas and other hot drinks, as well as freshly squeezed orange juice. There are other hot and cold drinks. Counter service. Moderately priced.

Pret A Manger is a great food place! It has hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, and even soup! It has a family friendly atmosphere and everyone there is really nice! If youre hungry and looking for quick, delicious food, you found your place! Hope you enjoy!

I love buying lunch at Pret. It is clean, good for the environment and everything I tried is tasty! I especially love their Almond croissant , their sandwiches and their salad dressing (which I buy couple to be used at home, for my dinner parties).

After studying abroad in London for a semester, it was so comforting to find Prets in the city. My personal favorite is their mango and lime cup, but there are so many other good things at Pret. Its like a little piece of London in New York.

Nice place to go for lunch. A great place for sandwiches. Had a salad and it was very tasty. Small place but comfortable when not crowed. Friendly and clean. I will go back to try some other sandwiches. They have a variety to choose from.

We were in the Financial District and just dropped in for a lunch. The food (we got baguettes and yogurt) was surprisingly good, healthy and moderately priced. Definitely one of the better food chains out there.

The food is always fresh and delicious and the place is perfect for lunchtime conversations. Im addicted to the "New Flavor" sandwiches and their golden mac and cheese. Only complaint: not-enoughness.

Amazing. Ryan, the night manager apart from being very polite, offered a first timer, a coffee on the house. The shrimp with cucumber sandwich was excellent. Frequent customer indeed.

I like Pret A Manger, especially their salads. However, they run out it quickly after 1PM. This week, one section of their food-shelf was not working - no salads at all!

Good clean grab and go type food establishment. Lots of variety along with canned and bottled beverages. Dont expect the coffee machine to pump out very good coffee.

Staff treats you like a minor nuisance. If you want your sandwich served to you in 15 minutes instead of 2, thus is your place to go :)
