After spending a week in San Francisco, I am not sure how this place isnt a top rated destination. All Ive heard about is SFs food scene and until this point, it had ranged from decent to good. Rich Table changed all that. I dont want to spend too much time going into individual dishes since they clearly change frequently (look at all the Yelp reviews/pictures - almost nothing was the same on our menu). Even so, every single dish we had was a winner. The texture and flavor combinations were on point. We didnt even make it to the entree course because we had so many of the small bites, appetizers, and pasta dishes. Simply put, this was top-notching dining. Maybe Ill have to reconsider my opinion on the SF dining scene. 4 I had a great dinner here last night with a few friends in the cutest booth. This was my second time and glad I came back and learned that the menu is always changing with fresh ingredients except the classic porcini donuts and sardine chips are always there. Food faves: Small bites Porcini donuts - cant go wrong with these Corn tempura- fluffy almost popped corn with great spicy seasoning Asparagus with egg- amazing! Pasta Bucatini w Gouda- not enough Gouda Tagliatelle w beef- sooooo good! Rich incredible sauce Meat Ribeye- perfectly cooked, tender and delicious Dessert- chocolate ganache and strawberry sorbet Both worth it! Ill definitely come back again!

I was surprisingly taken there by my girlfriend for my birthday. She didnt tell me where we were going. I couldnt have had a more perfect experience. From the hostess, the serving staff to the food. Every bite I savored, the crab cake, the porterhouse veal steak and for desert the milk chocolate custard with happy birthday written on the plate. It wasnt planned beforehand but did say something to the waiter who was serving us this was my birthday surprise dinner. He was very attentive and respectful. He had that personality that could read how to interact with the customer. Even when my girlfriend asked what was broccolini (I didnt even know) I tapped him and told him.. "just tell her it is a female broccoli" and he rolled with it ad-libing how it comes out all green in a nice dress. I have no negative comments spending close to two hours there expect that the party that came in close to us leaving was a bit loud but they have sliding doors to close to muffle out that sound. thank you to all that made my experience as perfect as it was.

I have been wandering this neck of the woods for years and saw this place get built. So when I stopped in I was excited. It didnt last long. Ordered the pretzel to start and it was, well, not good. Very dry, very large and quite hard. I reckon one of the street vendors would have faired better with one of their frozen pretzels. Followed this up with fish and chips for my significant other and I had the chicken skewers. The fish and chips were largely batter and rather tasteless. Something was also not quite right with the tartar sauce. The skewers were ok but nothing worth writing home about. The cous cous that complemented the dish was incredibly dry and was lacking in flavor. Service was OK, seemed like he was a young student just phoning it in. Long story short: nice view, probably good for drinks but would recommend people try the other great local spots for food. Pier As food gets trumped by a TGI Fridays or, dare I say, Applebees.

This is literally one of the worst restaurants in all of New York. The service is horrible. The waiters choose to argue with customers instead of making sure they are taken care of. When our waiter would come around he would mumble when he talked so you couldnt even understand him. The food was sub par. I had to have my burger sent back multiple times due to the cook not cooking it how I ordered it. When I finally received my ticket it was for 12 dollars. I handed the waiter a 20 and when he came back with my receipt he did not return any of my change. When this issue came up I informed the maître d that I didnt receive my change. The waiter then comes out with someone elses ticket and their change. NOT MINE. He then chose to argue with me instead of simply getting my ticket and my change. He insisted this was my fault and the manager stood by quietly. I would avoid this establishment at all costs!

Attractive location and cool renovation. Huge space with beautiful views. Good place to have a drink in Financial District / Battery Park area, but the food has been consistently mediocre. We have not tried upstairs, which has a nicer and more expensive menu. Service is attentive but not especially friendly. Music has been too loud for us each time weve visited downstairs at night. Prices are high for the type and quality of food and drinks you get, even by NYC standards. We each had a sandwich with fries and a Bloody Mary for lunch for $65. The food was OK, not great. Fries were tasty. Drinks were in half-size tumblers. Higher quality food and drinks are still available right around the corner on Stone Street. The outdoor area is great for summertime with potential for beautiful views but gets crowded, and $8-10 beers do make an expensive afternoon.

Pier A was perfectly described as a place that you go once and dont need to go back to. Or a place you take friends or family from out of town to for them to get a New York experience. Its pretty much overrun with tourists going to or coming back from the Statue of Liberty tours. Service is a bit spotty, possibly because all of the tourists mean the staff dont get consistent tips. The ambiance is quite nice right on the water and the seafood themed menu reflects that. The food was just ok, but lacked flavor. The chips and dip were pretty bland and the grilled fish tacos were as well. The beer menu is not bad, but isnt that extensive, especially because they were out of my first two choices when visiting. Come for the views and fresh air with friends, but dont expect a delightful culinary experience.

The location is perfect. However I would say if youre planning on going to Pier A you should stay away from driving because finding parking is really hard plus is meter parking. Taking the public transportation is probably the best option. The view is breathtaking especially if youre into taking nice pics. You can see amazing sunsets. The food isnt exceptional and the menu isnt fancy. The staff behind the bar can be extremely rude but I said to myself I wont review the establishment based on my experience with this particular individual because there were also some nice and attentive servers. This is a good place to go with your friends after class or work. I wouldnt say this is a romantic place for a date but hey maybe it is for some people. Overall its a good place.

I like it for what it is... which is a place to drink. The restoration is beautifully done, I like how they chose to decorate and situate the bar with long tables around. The view and sunset on the water here are also amazing. The draught and wine menu are good and depending on the bartender, you get a great martini here. The problem is the food, Ive heard of food poisoning from multiple colleagues. I think it may have gotten better since then, but definitely bar food dont come here for a meal. Hopefully the new restaurants upstairs are going to be better.
