Superb cafe that I only wish we had more of in the Heights. The staff is welcoming and pretty knowledgeable, the place is relatively small but feels spacious and comely, and last but not least, the coffee is respectable. Id love to use the free wifi for longer than an hour from time to time but that would mean more crowding; there is a TWC account option. Also, this place and neighborhood is deserving of glassware instead of the current paper coffee cups and plastic stirrers. Those are just little things, though. Every local should visit here at least once!

My favorite coffee shop! The space is small but it has a homey, community feel. Youll often see people chatting with each other, working at the communal table, or sitting on the benches outside sipping their coffee. Its a really special place with different artwork featured each month, writing nights, and community supper clubs. Their coffee is top notch (I recommend the iced latte) and their salted chocolate chip cookies and chocolate chip scones are YUM!

Washington Heights is not known for its trendy cafes, and yet, Cafe Buunni is just that. Its walls are lined with neat pictures by a local photographer, theres a solid wooden table on which to rest a laptop or latte, and the coffe is downright excellent. Indeed, the overall vibe seems plucked straight from SoHo. The coffee itself is strong, but not bitter, and the specialty drinks look excellent. Id certainly go again to get my caffeine fix.

Love this little gem. Its a bit small for space, but the coffee and treats are great, and they have a couple benches outside. Love their cappuccino and croissants - really all the treats are delicious. Owner is kind and hospitable. Love the atmosphere here! They do a great job supporting the local neighborhood and bringing people together.

What a welcome presence in the neighborhood! A delightful atmosphere, with a changing series of art installations. The staff are friendly. The small coffee cup could be just a tad larger, and it would be wonderful if the morning pastry options included mini-bagels with vegetable cream cheese, small buttered rolls, and even fruit.

I love Cafe Buunni! Been there three times with friends. I tried another Ethiopian restaurant across the street and this was so much better that I keep coming back.Im going there today and Im so excited.The food, and drinks are delicious and the service is always friendly and attentive.

Fantastic neighborhood coffeehouse with delicious coffee and a number of good food choices, including some various paninis. I love their iced mochas, but all the coffee drinks are great. There is seating inside, but it is a small space. There is a bench outside as well.

Great coffee at a decent price. They make great cold coffee and you can get both almond or soy milk! A great place for getting some work done. There isnt a lot of space but there almost always room to sit down.

Great espresso drinks with Bohemian chic staff and delicious small snacks like cookies, cupcakes, scones, etc. Try the chai latte. If you dine in the nice barista might make a cute design in your cappuccino.

Walked in on a Thursday morning and the cashier and barista cant even utter "Good morning," but when a White woman walks in, she was greeted with courtesy. Lol so much for good coffee and discrimination

A gem in a neighborhood that is otherwise lacking in great coffee choices. (Starbucks, anyone? No thanks.) The owner takes coffee seriously. The staff is great. You wont be disappointed!
