I had heard great things about Provecho from lots of friends, so I figured to try it out when I had a few minutes for lunch in between clients one day when in downtown Vancouver. Let me just say: This place makes very little sense. I had a strong feeling that its a "locals only" spot, which is fine. I love those! And Im from Camas, just one twon over, so Im technically a "local." Even so- the seating is impossible. I had to wander around inside to find the hostess (a teen who would much rather be elsewhere, I gathered) to get a menu ("You can go ahead and grab one yourself.") and ask her several times for water. I ahd chosen to sit outside to take advantage of the gorgeous weather, and found that meant I had to go inside to order a drink. And bring the empty glass in for a refill. Twice. I didnt see the waitress again for a long time. I had my knitting with me, so it was at least 4 rows of 39 stitches before I saw her again. Anyway- when she DID come back, I was nervous to place an order, because I hadnt seen her in so long. So I ordered the nachos. I wanted to make sure they were enough for an actual meal, so I asked her about them. The response: "Uh, I guess. It depends on how hungry you are. Theyre, like, regular nachos, I guess." Okay. At this point an hour has gone by and my "leisurely amount of time" for lunch is rapidly dwindling. I got my nachos with just 20 minutes to eat, pay, and leave to make it to my next client on time. The nachos were really good. The horchata was, too. Homemade, and definitely yummy- but the service killed it for me. I didnt want to have to eat my lunch in a hurry, which is what I ended up having to do. Crappy. I could never bring my kids here. It would be crazypants to expect them to wait an hour for food! I shouldnt have ignored the slew of other poor reviews on this place!

Im mixed about these guys. I used to come here bi weekly a couple a years ago because they had good service and good food but the price was a bit high. And when the food and service where good Id say the price was worth it. My first trip back here in a while was last night, I was excited to show my wife this place. Our waiter was nice and him mixed with the fact the food was alright was why i 2 stared it. He asked if we wanted chips and salsa so we said sure (theres $6 they dont tell you about cause chips and salsa cost extra). Then we ordered our burritos and I got a drink and my wife had water and the bill came to $60. Had I known the price was gonna be so much I wouldve never gone. While the man that was waiting was friendly the woman who appeared to be the hostess wasnt. She seemed passive aggressive and unhelpful, and honestly other than giving people water I didnt see her do a thing in there but make everyone uncomfortable. I hate to say this because Provecho used to be a fav of mine, 2 out of 5 stars for over priced food and a 50/50 split of friendly and hostile work staff.

My oh my! Words cannot even describe the food quality here! If youre looking for a good place to eat, and have a party of 1-110 people, then this place is GREAT! First, lets start off with the appetizers. The best appetizer, in my opinion, is the cake. They argued with me about how it was a dessert, but I convinced them otherwise. Secondly, lets talk about the main course. You have GOT to try the cake. The cake was amazing the second time I had it. The waiter, once again, tried to convince me that it was a dessert. But just like the first time, I convinced him again. Thirdly, lets talk about dessert. The cake wasnt the best dessert, in my opinion. It was, how do you say, bad. The quality of the third time I had the cake, was nothing more than terrible. It tasted like meat, was pink in the middle, and they gave me a steak knife along with it. I can cut my own cake, young man. You, good sir, must watch your mouth. Otherwise, this place was honestly the worst place. Ever.

This place is my food soulmate...foodmate? Fresh chopped salsa, fresh baked tortilla chips, Pico de Gallo that can be eaten by the spoonfuls! Their chicken burrito is my go to favorite, but the best part?...Huge portions, fresh black beans, freshly chopped cilantro and then they brown the burrito for a crispy tortilla shell experience. I just cant say enough good things. I really could go on and on. It helps that their margaritas are nice and tangy and did I mention strong? They dont skimp on the booze. Which is good because their price is on the high end of casual. A cocktail will be between $8-9.50 and the entrees are around $9-12. Chips and salsa are extra but man are the worth it! Unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants where you leave feeling full and weighed down by the greasy cheesy combo, their food is all freshly prepared and wont sit in your stomach for days on end. Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.

Ive been to Provecho many times, their food is wonderful, service up until last visit was just ok, but I could ignore that. I was brought up with manners being a huge thing in my household, so in general I try for grace, but this last Friday we stopped in for a going away lunch for a coworker and were treated so badly, I told the waitress "you could be a little nicer" apparently those were the wrong words as her rudeness increased leaving me with no choice but to gather my stunned party and leave. We ended up going just down the street to Rosemarys where we were greeted warmly and treated very well through out our visit there. Im sad I wont eat Provechos yummy food anymore, but I wont go somewhere that treats their patrons so badly. You would think with so many bad reviews about the service, the owners would get a clue and do something about that!

We live blocks from this restaurant and have eaten there dozens of times. The food never disappoints, but I am finally ready to give up on the service. The delicious food is not worth the crap service. Recently convinced a group of people that were going to meet at Red Robin (gag) to try something local and in the neighborhood. I was completely humiliated when we finally ended up leaving Provechos with our party of nine because of the horrible service. This was in the middle of the week, the place was not busy. Empty tables next to each other, but they refused to put two tables togther. We were told we could wait OUTSIDE for the one and only "big table" to become available. Problem was, the big table was occupied by a family of four who were still ordering. NO THANKS.

I give this place 3stars as an average place. The food was ok, not really full of flavors, kinda bland. The green salsa was also bland, not much flavor, the red spicy but not much depth. After we ordered is took 20-30min to get our food which was a little long for burritos. The staff was nice, but it funny reading all the review about the attitude and the rules. Speaking of rules they seem to have them posted all over and almost was to pick a fight with customers. I understand the business are tired of overbearing customers but thats case by case. The whole 6 people or more and the bill is not broken up totally ignores todays norms...Going back, not likely
