TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE!! I to tried to have an open mind and give the crab pot a good review. I just got off the phone. The owner/ wanna be manager argued with me. I was charged 2 times for my dinner. He argued with me.. What the heck. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Disappointing. Clam chowder changes from day to day from Ok to poor. Was charged 2 times for our meal on my debit card. Still not received my credit for the 2nd charge. Waitress argued with me about charging me twice?? WTH? We asked for oyster crackers for our chowder and she said no you cant have any because you got bread with your chowder. At this point we knew we made a mistake. I show the waitress my double charge for our meal on my Iphone, she said " I dont understand those new fangeled gadgets, wouldnt let me finish explained (4 times) How I was being takin by being charged 2 times for a meal. Run away from the crab pot!!! Also we ate at the Berry patch in Ocean park.... my mother in laws meal was $9.95 on the menu but the waitress charged $10.95. Seems price gouging is catchy. One waitress the day before was very good. DO NOT EAT IN THE BAR... either. Nice settings but troublesome employees. These people really need to step into the real world. I have told everyone from my post office friends to all my customers about this issue. WOW. I had to call my credit card company to take back my money. Craby pot would not give me back the money they took from me by charging me 2 times for one mediocre meal with poor service. What a rip off. I couldnt wait to write this review. My hopes were to have a great meal and not a problem.

My husband and I are huge seafood consumers and we know how fresh, "live", crab is supposed to turn up in texture and taste. When my husband received his whole crab order he was upset. There were black spots on the crab, which the owner came out to mention the crab got into fights. This was from battle scars and we understood, but the crab was meatless and we paid $30, our total bill was $60. The crab appeared it had been frozen for a while. My husband never ever complained about his meals and he did this time, but they never offered to make things better. We were very disappointed and we would not recommend ordering a whole crab at "The Crab Pot" in Long Beach, WA. In fact, this experience has taught us a great lesson, never order crab at a restaurant. We purchase live crab at $4.99/lb in Seattle, boil it without seasoning for 15 minutes, and it is wonderful…. On the flip side, our server was cheerful and polite. Overall, it was not worth what we paid. Since my husband was not pleased. After a few hours we found a Chinese restaurant, Chen’s Restaurant, down the street. We were happy with their service and food. It was tasty and we had a ton of left over, all for $40 (wonton noodle, fried wonton, beef special w/rice, and house special fried noodles). I would recommend going there instead.

Do not bring your kids here! Owner came over and yelled at my 7yr old for being to noisy and not sitting down at the table. There was no one else in the restaurant and we had drove 2 hours he was restless and didnt want to sit while we waited for our food. But he wasnt even the one making all the noise it was my 18 month old who I cant exactly tell to be quite as she doesnt understand that yet. Its not like this was some 5 star restaurant, I would never take my kids somewhere where they would ruin someones nice meal. Although they charge like its a fancy place, everything is so overpriced. You walk in the door, grab your own menus, then order at the counter, pay then sit down. Not exactly fancy so didnt understand why he got so upset that my kids were a little excited and were not being quiet. Its not like they were screaming and tearing the place apart. We stopped our order and got a refund because I was not comfortable being there anymore. As we were leaving he told us never to bring my kids back, seriously couldnt believe he said that. Like I said they didnt hurt anything and no one else was in there so I didnt see what the big deal was. I will never return here again.

A few disappointments, wanted the crab fetuccini alfredo and they were sold out before 5:00 p.m., also the crab cocktail and another crab item I dont remember. Ordered the prawns and chips basket, they really were delicious. The main disappointment was the cost, very overpriced. We couldve gone to a more sit-down, rather than order at the counter type of place for the price we paid. Not a fan of extra sauce (salad dressing) charges considering the prices we paid. I thought that was a major turn off. Otherwise, service was good, staff that helped us were very nice. Some of our party ordered the clam chowder, said flavor was good but consistency seemed watered down.

The food is okay, but very pricey. The thing that bothers me the most about this place is the owner/manager that thinks its appropriate to put his hands on peoples food. Every time we have ordered the whole crab, this guy comes over and watches as we crack and eat our crab. He has to make suggestions on a better way to do it, and even grabs the crab off our plates and demonstrates his "better" technique. It is completely inappropriate and makes for an uncomfortable dining experience. I dont like servers standing over the table watching me eat, and its certainly not okay to touch my food after its been served to me.

After reading the reviews I was skeptical. Turned out to be really good! We sat in the bar--which has obviously been updated when compared to the drab restaurant section--I would suggest sitting there as it is a totally different atmosphere. Very nice contemporary design. There was even several nice leather couches and chairs in one section. Their clam chowder was excellent, very creamy and smooth. We shared the captains platter (fried) which was very tasty--each different piece of seafood had a different batter, so it wasnt all the same flavor. The calamari is exceptional!! Extremely tender and creamy.

This place blows.....Lousy food and sky high prices for being right on the damn beach. I would expect to pay those prices in Denver Colorado, or Ohio. But NOT on the coast. cmon. Their crab definitely is NOT ocean fresh. Tastes like they ordered it from Denver Colorado or Ohio. The west coast seems to be lacking in the fresh seafood cuisine.....I love Razor Clams, And have never had them chopped up like they were and deep fried.....Discusting. They should be lightly panko battered a pan fried. not chopped and charred. We will NOT be going back to this wanna be seafood house.

Man was nice. Grumpy woman yelled at our kids because one of them did not have shoes on. We get it, total mistake. But she could have been kinder. If you cant deal with people lady, find another job or stay in the kitchen. Food was prompt and hot, but I paid $12 for a basket of fries and then the SMALLEST portion of fish I have ever seen. Adult basket of fish & chips had 3 pinky finger sized pieces of fish. The staff was nowhere to be seen after they served us. No one came to ask how the food was. Love the Long Beach area and will be back. But not to the Crab Pot.
