Love Duck Soup Inn remains my favorite restaurant on the island regardless of the change in ownership. We recently went back for the first time in years (only because were work alcoholics) and it was a meal worth waiting for. While there is no longer steak diane on the menu is a local grass fed steak with steak diane sauce that is cooked to perfection. So yummy we almost ordered a seconds. The staff and atmosphere is as impeccable as its always been. Looking forward to our next visit home in a few weeks and a trip home just wouldnt be complete without a dinner at Duck Soup Inn. Thank you for an amazing meal!

I dont know where the other reveiwers of this restaurant ate at, but this was one of the best restaurants Ive ever been to (and Ive eaten at 5 star restaurants in new york and new jersey to reference that other terrible review) its rare to eat at a place this good that includes delicious soup AND salad with your entree for less than $40 a pop. 3 of us ate and drank our fill (including a bottle of wine and dessert) and have leftovers tomorrow for under $200. I will definitely be back the next time Im in Friday harbor!!

There were too many problems. The waitress did not announce soup of the day or market vegetables before asking for our orders. Grilled bread was charred. Order for crab bisque was not served. Deep fried chicken breast was way over cooked. Red beans were very dry. Salad was not served until half of dinner was eaten. No salad serving utensils were provided. Salad dressing had no taste/flavor. It was a bad night in the kitchen! We hope this was an unusual, one-time difficult day.

8 of us had a wonderful evening. The cocktails were especially exciting, with a very attentive bartender who came to the table to talk to us. The food was all excellent: salmon, duck, carpaccio, pasta, prawns special, desserts. Everyone enjoyed the food. Had a nice wine from Lopez Island. Service was attentive, though not fast. Make a reservation and plan for and enjoy a leisurely evening with great food and drinks in an attractive room in a lovely setting.

We have been coming here for years so I was concerned to learn Duck Soup had changed hands. Turns out the new team has their act together. They freshened up the ambiance without loosing charm from years past. Honestly the food and feel of the place is remenisent of Chez Panisse. Had a great meal with great service, got out for less than $100 per person. Its worth the trip yall

Lovely staff. Super cool oyster shell chandelier in foyer. Creative and tasty cocktails. Didnt try dinner. Not crazy about decor re-design, but maybe it needs to break in and soften a bit before it regains the cozy comfort.

Weve been frequenting this place for more than 20 years. Great food kept fresh and evolving by chef Gretchen must be great as it is located in middle of island in idyllic location. Wine list also great value.

The best dining on San Juan Island. Fresh, locally sourced ingredients creatively prepared. Everything I had was superb. A must visit.
