Ive gone here a couple of times persuaded by most of the ratings I seen on here. My first visit here I had to figure out how the ordering works because everyone was standing around and it was up to me to distinguish who was waiting to order and who was waiting for food. The Jamaican guy at the register did not even greet me, he seemed overwhelmed by the number of people there and also seemed to have a rude unhappy "I hate my job" vibe to him. I ordered a half smoked and a chilly dog, the wait for my food was not too long. I paid with a $100 bill so I could break it to change and he seemed a bit annoyed by the fact that it was a big bill and he had to count for my change. Good food but costumer service needs some improving.

This is an old-school, inexpensive takeout joint thats been around for years. The Foo Fighters even wrote a song about this place. Customers range from construction workers, soccer moms/dads, cops, office workers, and old-timers that have been coming here since they were kids. Get the chili dog with chili, onions, and mustard and you wont be disappointed. The cheesesteak and burgers are also good. Tip: There are two picnic tables on the side of the building if you dont want to eat in your car.

Weenie Beenie once had numerous locations throughout the area (it started in 1950!!) - and this is sadly the last remaining stand. The half smoke is absolutely the best in the area - Bens could really learn a thing or two!! WB grills the half smokes, so they are juicy with a nice char. The prices are great, the service prompt, theres plenty of parking and a few picnic tables if you dont want to eat in your car. Truly a unique area institution!

After a long trip on the W&OD was great to be able to get a tasty grilled half-smoke, with an excellent snap of the casing. Great potatoe wedges and while not usually a fan of minced pork I enjoyed the NC style pork with Cole slaw with just the right amount of vinegar bite. (The servings were not small, I was really hungry. Did I mention the 90 mile round trip ride on the trail?) ;)

Been meaning to stop in every time we ride by -- such a time warp. Finally stopped in and gave it a shot. My burger royale was... meh: thin and grey, but I guess Id prefer it to a a McBurger. The half-smoke was a better choice. Funny to meet people waiting outside whove been going there for multiple generations. Its an icon.

As featured on the Foo Fighters first album, a local classic. Youll run into the most interesting and diverse cross section of Alexandria here. I recommend you stay well clear of the burgers, but the real reason to show up is the half smoke (get the chili on top; its not much to look at but it tastes amazing).

This place is a great local lunch spot and had been doing the same thing for decades. The menu is good but the CHILLI HALF SMOKE IS KING! If youre in the area and hungry, stop by this spot. Its always a good sign when you see businessmen joining construction guys in line for the same lunch spot.

I have driven past this place for 5 years and just now stopped for a half smoke with the works and my concerned wife got a cheese burger royal. We are big fans. My wife said this is where she wants to get cheese burgers from now on. Better than Bens Chili bowl in my opinion.

Steak and cheese is packed with flavor! Good crust and seasoning on the steak from the grill, cheese blends in, hot peppers are spicy. The bread is simple, but nothing too special, I wish it was toasted. Overall very satisfied, and good fast service.

This stand is authentic and real. Half-smokes (a DC sausage thats bigger and spicier than a regular hot dog) are excellent, and dare I say as good as Bens. All the other stuff on the grill is solid. Definitely worth the trip if youre a hot dog fan!

It may not have the famous name, but the chile smoke here wins hand down. Onion rings are crunchy and stay in the flyer for the just the time, but start frozen. Be warned, you cannot satisfy your cravings on Sundays.

Half smoke burnt and dry, toppings drenched on dog to cover up badly cooked dog.. may have started half smoked but Bens perfected it.. Only reason for the 1 star is the onion rings, they are really good and crunchy

SUPER POTAO WEDGES WITH Philly Steak and cheese - sooo darn good. Old old stomping ground but a must for good food done right with attitude. The only way for a 60 year old establishment to do it with attitude.

Cant say Id come back here. I tried this place because it was a local favorite on Google Maps. I ordered a jumbo cheese burger with a side of onion rings. Both were overcooked and did not taste very good.

I just love the NC BBQ so juicy and tart. The ten commandments are old fashion just like the great food. A must for any visitors and all others. You do not want to miss this place - standing room only!

The chilli on the cheese dog was one of the best ive ever had it didnt look like anything special but the taste makes up for it. And the lemonade was good enught i had to get a refill before we left.

A landmark in walk-up, takeaway goodness. Breakfasts, lunch with half-smokes. Closed Sundays, signs with the Ten Commandments posted in English and Spanish.

Really liked there food. The french fries are actually potato wedges which I do not prefer. Cheese steak and Burger tasted fine but nothing amazing.

Found this place after my maps took me to a nearby subway which didnt exist. Food was all grease-filled roadside fare.... And I loved it.
