Just a little shop run by a husband/wife Brit-Thai team. Basic, simple, good food, the formula works well. DECOR Quirky-comfortable. Cafe meets deli meets yard sale. We often go on Sunday when they divide the table area into "self-service" and "full-service," a nice touch for a little shop. No high-end here, but the heavy use of the place does get good care. SERVICE Super-nice people. The British fellow always has a funny quip about something, and seems genuinely interested in his restaurant. Servers are quiet and attentive. FOOD Again not high-end, nor at all inventive, but you can get American-style or (true) British-style breakfasts, plus a smattering of other typical cafe fare. What is important here, however, is that we often order in a way that is too challenging for careless line cooks. One eggs over hard and one eggs over easy gets screwed up an unbelievable number of times, but not only does Extra Perks get it right but the food is always beautifully prepared and delicious. They clearly seem to care.

This place has more of an old time diner feel than that of a true coffee shop. Imagine a place thats part diner, part lunchtime cafe, part coffee shop & that image wont be far from what its like here. I stopped by for a latte and sat at a table while I sipped it. The coffee was better than I expected & was surprised to find a pretty extensive coffee menu. The crowd here is mostly young families and older couples. And since its so close to the water, you can go for a breezy stroll after your meal!

(Almost) all the employees were extremely friendly and accommodating throughout the process, from waiting in the line to ordering to letting me know when my order was ready (after the automated buzzer went off at the wrong time). I had gotten the American Breakfast: sausage, toast, eggs, and hash browns. Everything was excellent, although the toast was not as toasted as I expected. Great friendly service and experience. Next time Im in Alexandria, I would definitely stop by Perks again!

We headed out for a morning walk to see Alexandria. We ended up looking for breakfast and came upon this cafe! A brilliant find! Small out of the way was exactly what we were looking for. Go early as locals fill this place fast. The menu has lots to offer with British accents. We ordered quiche and a standard American breakfast. Both were wonderful. Staff was very helpful and order was delivered quickly. Reasonably priced meals was an added bonus.

The quality of the meal was good—however, the venue seemed a little disorganized. The menu displayed above the cash register pointed in different directions, and the coffee selections were positioned behind the regular menu, so it was difficult as a newcomer to see what was available. Also, I was given a to-go bag for my dine-in experience. The meals quality itself was good, and I enjoyed having a casual, not-overcrowded place to enjoy lunch.

Ive been there twice so far and am looking to go back this morning. There is not a better breakfast place in all of the greater D.C. area. I am SO glad I found it on yelp. It looks a little bit old school, a sort of late 80s to 90s atmosphere... so it might not strike you as super fancy, but it is in a great location, private, sort of hidden but right by the water. The food is always good. Love this place.

Quick and cute little diner/coffee shop. Fairly priced and quick service (coffee). I havent eaten the food, but what I saw on tables, it looked of average quality. Im only going to rate my experience though! Coffee 3/5, service 4/5, aesthetics...it reminded me of a super quiet and quaint mom and pop diner and I LOVE those feels 5/5.

**Great Staff, very friendly **Good food, good price, and short wait for food Full British Breakfast is great! Great lunch selection as well **Great WIFI (much faster than most cafes, easy to connect to and stable) Great for groups with accommodating tables and seats, and individuals with leather chairs and coffee table.

Finally a place for locals in Old Town. This is especially wonderful in the spring and summer, when you cant swing a cat without hitting a tourist! There is plenty of seating and lots of food choices. So far Ive enjoyed everything Ive eaten, and I also appreciate that they seem to have fresh coffee no matter what time you go in.

The food was very good.my family and i went in there were about 11 of us .we were not loud or disruptive at all.the owner or manager came back to us and said for us to behave.we laughed thinking he was joking.but when we left he said you all did good.i felt like he only said that to us because we were a group of black people.

Little bit pricey for breakfast. I had the full British breakfast which was great. They made a mistake with my boyfriends omelette but corrected it without a problem. Bit of a wait for the food as well, despite it not being very busy. Over all a nice atmosphere and it was close to our hotel so we went to check it out.

Looking for a special night? This place fits the bill.... From superb service to outstanding flavor profiles to beautiful presentations, BRABO is unquestionably outstanding. The wine menu is extensive, the fish and meat offerings prepared innovatively, and the staff works together like a ballet.

We love this place and visit each time were in the DC area. Very simple, kind of quaint. Food is good, service quick and staff is friendly. Owner always treats us very well. Does fill up quickly and can be a bit cramped depending upon where youre seated.

Sandwiches are pretty good. Staff is friendly and competent. Takes about ten to fifteen minutes to get your sandwich if you do the quick to go option. They also offer table service. Also have a good selection of packaged grocery store type goods.

It listed itself as open on Christmas day, and I walked for 25 min to get here. When I arrived it was closed, but they hadnt bothered to update the schedule online. So this oversight wasted 50 min of my Christmas Day. Thanks!

This place is fast, friendly, and has a very decent selection of food and drinks. I often stop here for breakfast when I have meetings in the area. The staff there are wonderfully friendly, and most especially, the two owners.

I work in the area, and have tried every other establishment in the area for lunch, and this is the best. They have the freshest ingredients of all the area sandwich shops, great homemade soups and a great atmosphere.

Great breakfast and brunch items. The staff and owner are very friendly and welcoming. My favorite hide away! They stop taking table seating on the weekends at 2 though. You can still get food to go until 3.
