I came during lunch time as a single diner. It took the hostess a moment to seat me as she seemed confused that I would be dining alone. Once seated, it took a bit to be addressed by the server but not long enough for me to become irritated. I ordered the shrimp cocktail (for 8.99) that came in a glass filled with a lettuce wedge, thin avocado slices, cocktail sauce, and the shrimp decoratively placed around the glass. The shrimp tasted fresh and had a great texture and the cocktail sauce wasnt too over powering, overall I enjoyed this starter. I then ordered their Italian soda (for 2.75) in Mango and then in peach. This comes with a light soda, such as sprite, mixed with heavy cream and flavoring giving it a creamy, frothy texture. I thoroughly enjoyed this beverage and highly recommend it. I then ordered the Chicken Avocado Salad (for 10.49); the presentation was very thought out and looked lovely. The chicken comes breaded but I was delighted that the breading wasnt thick and tasteless; instead its thin, well cooked, and lightly seasoned which allows the flavor of the chicken to come through. The chicken is also not overcooked which was a plus. The body of the salad consisted of a mixture of green leaf lettuce, iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots, red cabbage, thinly cut fresh tomatoes, bacon crumbles, sliced boiled eggs, Colby jack cheese, sliced avocado, and a house ranch. The lettuce was cut in manageable pieces and seemed very fresh with a crisp texture. There wasnt a huge abundance of red cabbage or carrots which made the salad a very pleasant mixture although I would have preferred more of the green leaf lettuce. Even though I was satisfied with this order I wasnt blown away by it partly due to the fact that this type of salad is a common lunch staple everywhere. So if youre looking for lunch and something you can expect to be good, I highly recommend this order. The total of my order came to about 24 dollars which is pretty average for a restaurant like this so I felt like it was very reasonable; I didnt notice anything on the menu that seemed overpriced which is always a plus. I look forward to experiencing more of what HugHes has to offer. Overall a satisfying visit.

The atmosphere doesnt feel so much like a cafe, than it does a high-end feeling, small restaurant. It all started with the fresh soft bread, served with delicious strawberry flavor mixed butter. Shortly after my wife and I finished our bread, our food was out. I ordered a Crispy Chicken Avocado Salad with Vinaigrette dressing; my wife ordered Country Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Garden Soup. The salad had all of the right fixings: bacon bits, lettuce, spinach, radish, hard boiled eggs with a deviled egg appearing seasoning, and a delicious and generous amount of crispy chicken and half of an avocado sliced, among other things. Surprisingly with all of these fresh ingredients, I dont think I would ever order the salad again, it was good, but didnt scream "to die for", although it looked the part. However, others may feel different and enjoy it more than I did. What my eyes rested on my entire meal was the country fried steak that took up my wifes entire plate, with a tasty gravy. The mashed potatoes had garlic and cheese, and was far above par. The garden soup tasted fresh and was full of flavor. This is something I would definitely recommend. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a friendly attentive staff. Service was far above average on speed, even being moderately busy around dinner time on a Wednesday evening. My wife and I have been touring towards local restaurants for a different change in tastes, and to get away from chain restaurants. Nothing had the taste as if it came out of the freezer, and everything was delicious. My only nit-picky complaint, would be that wrestling was playing on the TV right above our table, not really a restaurant feeling kind of program. But, it wasnt loud or obnoxious, so I dont have much to complain about there. Needless to say, we will visiting Hug-Hes Cafe many more times to come, and I suggest you give it a try as well!

Very great ambiance and tastefully decorated. I came here because Id been to the South Ogden location and Im impressed with the consistency between the two. The employees were friendly and wanted to give good service. What Ive tried has been delicious and they give complimentary beer batter bread with a whipped butter/yogurt combo that is delectablely spreadable. Id recommend the Portobello Chicken, Prime Rib Dip, Mexican Club Wrap, Smoked Chicken Pasta Salad (this is what my friends get every time), the Chicken Avocado Salad, or the Hawaiian Burger. They are well known for their sugar cookies, though the chocolate chip and pumpkin cookies are my preferred choice; you cant go wrong though.

My wife loves going here. She is so glad they came to North Ogden. She has always loved the chicken pasta salad. I got the blue bacon burger this time. This baby had a 1/2 pound of beautifully cooked ground beef. The meat it self was supper juicy and when drenched in blue cheese sauce there was nothing I could do to keep my self clean. With e dry bits sauce was all over my face and running down my hands and chin. Luckily the waitress was more than happy to help bring as many napkins as I needed. Wonderful staff great food make this place a five star with with me. And no wait on a Friday night although it was late.

This was the second time my wife and I have visited HugHes. We love the beer bread and all the other food. The first time everything was amazing, food, service and we got our food fast. Second time was not so hot. We ordered an appetizer then had to ask for bread and our water three times. We finally got our bread and water when we got our dinner.

Weve gotten food at this location three times now, twice dining in. The food is good, the water is not. For some reason the water tastes like dish water. If you get a different beverage then youll probably enjoy your experience here. I didnt feel like I could give 4 or 5 stars to a place with bad water even if the food was good.

First time coming here with my parents, visiting from out of town. Took a chance on a new place, so glad we did. I got the mushroom burger, they both got salads. Everyone was happy. Everything was delicious. Took a pumpkin cream cheese roll to go, also very tasty. I think this could become my new favorite local spot.

Excellent choices on their menu. Spinach artichoke dip is to for for. Beer bread is homemade and so delicious. Their Portable mushroom burger, as a lettuce wrap, was so good. Well definitely be coming back.

Food and service was amazing. Wonderful restaurant burgers. If you want cheap burgers there are plenty of fast food restaurants around. If you want quality burgers, this is the restaurant.

I had a great dinner. My wife and I have already been talking about going back again. It is so nice to have an upscale restaurant in North Ogden!
