When we are going to a party, as we were on this day, Vie a Paris is our "go to" place to pick up a desert (if Thuy does not have time to bake one herself). We have bought many a cake here, before Thuy started doing her own baking (which is the only way to get a better product). On this day Mark & I were tasked to pick up a cake for Easter lunch. Since we were picking it up (and it was not pre-ordered, which is required to ensure you get what you want), we passed on the typical cake with fruit on top, and went for something more like a German Chocolate Cake (with cherries and that gooey coconut frosting. Yum!). Since we had time to kill, we opted to order a few treats, and coffees, for ourselves. I was kinda surprised by the dine in option. I was even more surprised by the lunch options. Now I have the pâté chaud (a light layered and flaky exterior pastry with a meat filling - perhaps chicken liver I think) before (to go), and being a liver fan, like it. But having one hot and fresh from the oven was a real treat. Also, the soups and sandwiches caught my eye. I can think of nothing else I want to try other than the Onion Soup from Vie a Paris. Next time for sure, with a pâté chaud. We also nibbled on a few cookies, all fantastic (and too many to chose from) and drank some coffees, before heading down to Haltom City for lunch. Oh, and as expected, the cake was fantastic and loved by all, even Bô (who does not usually like sweets). I should note Vie a Paris cakes are not over the top "American sweet" like typical products from the grocery store.

Im only giving this place one star because there isnt an option for ZERO! I ordered a chocolate mousse cake for a birthday last week. I picked it up at the bakery this morning and when we bit into it, it was like eating sawdust. It was the driest cake (and the worst) that I have ever had. I took the cake back and told them that the cake didnt taste good and was very, very dry and the strawberries had black bruises on them. I was shocked when the owner grabbed a section of the middle and rubbed it together and said, See? Moist." She then asked if Ive had their cakes before and when I replied I hadnt, she said, "Thats why.Our cakes are not as sweet as American cakes." I told her that I didnt have a problem with the sweetness, only that it was too dry and stale and didnt taste good." She said, "Ill return your money because I dont want to deal with you. Dont come back here." I was not rude to her and was quite surprised at the ugliness of her words and her horrible customer service. She neednt worry that Ill be coming back for a sawdust cake. Very, very bad experience, all around.

My family has been buying cake from here for our birthdays every year since I was 7 I believe. Im now 25! It never disappoints me! Ive tried a lot of cakes from here and all have been delicious! My favorite is their Strawberry Shortcake! Once you enter youre greeted with their wonderful smell, its nostalgic every time lol. Their French bread is great as well and coffee! Of course Ive tried many other cakes, but these are my absolute favorite!

Excellent, REAL butter croissants (Ive had one or two butter/crisco croissants that were terrible at other local bakeries). The French macarons are on point! I didnt have any this visit but will certainly try some of their other delicious looking cakes and pastries in my future visits. Other aspects: service was prompt and pleasant and the restaurant is clean and well kept.

We have been ordering all of our cakes for all my childrens birthdays and we have never been disapointed, always fresh and excellent, best tasting cake, we always order the large strawbey short cake, you need to try it. Everybody who is unhappy with them emphasizes that they are Asians, I love that, I do not need a mentally retarded French.

Ive been goin here for years, and have never had a bad experience. The cakes are delicious, just the right amount of sweetness. The pastries are so good, they have so many to chose from its hard to do. My favorites are their strawberry shortcake, creme brulee, and their croissants. Their croissants are the best Ive ever had.

I had five different cakes for my wedding and there were no leftovers. That is the truth. If you want a true European dessert go here. Everything is great. There cakes have liquor in them but you can special order without. Must try!!!!!

Their macaroons are to die for. I munched on 6 while ordering a cake [dont judge]. My favorite cake of all times at this place is the italian cream cheese cake. We order it religiously for pretty much most of the family birthdays.

Ive been eating their cakes since I was a little girl - this is by far the best bakery in the dfw area. The prices are reasonable and my 4 yr old loves the "dessert" fruit on top of some of the cakes. Delicious. :)

I bought a birthday cake for my daughter. The kids dont like it at all. The cake tastes too sweet, just like those sold in Walmar and Target stores but has double price. One try is enough. Never go there again!

bad $4 pastry and terrible $32 cake... no flavor, barely had any cream and it was dry.... for that price I expected more in a 6 inch cake.... Kroger has better cakes for a fraction of the cost.

Usually come in for a quick croissant and coffee and only spend $4. Lots of greenery inside makes it a nice place to relax in.
