I was so disappointed in my experience here. I havent been in years but I decided to buy a groupon & go. I couldnt believe it when I seen that what they thought guacamole & chips were. They charge $2.25 for not even a spoonful of guacamole & you get 1 chip. Seriously?? Then the food wasnt that great. I feel like I wasted my $. The waitress was nice but slow. There was 2 other tables filled in the restaurant yet it took a long while to get our food. Then she really didnt know how the groupon worked. Plus what they call happy hour specials arent happy hour specials. I wont return.

The people, the food, the neighborhood; it all says home to me. Nuevo Leon is a unique restaurant in the Dallas area in that serves Mex-Mex while keeping people used to the more Texan fare happy. Both the Nuevo Leon and Mexico City (D.F.) regions are represented in the menu. The current management is very hands on and has really brought the level of the food and the ambiance up a notch. New items like the Brisket Tacos have kept regulars like myself from getting bored. To have a place nearby which can be casual and fast or quiet and unique is such a luxury.

Dont know why it has 4.5 stars the food is horrible, cold and the plate, only the plate is hot, just eat there going for a good meal, but it was just disappointment, there was another person at same time and she complain about something hard on her food, the respond of the waitress and cashier was "those are potatoes on the rice" really?? will never go back again.

This place isnt about subtlety - its about good, fresh, hearty tastes. Comfort food, really. I can only speak to one item, because I can never bring myself to order anything else - *El Taco Macho*. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but it is heaven on earth. Its not exactly a taco and I really dont have words that do it justice. Just ... so much tasty avocado!

The food is authentic and tasty. The queso blanco is amazing. The margaritas are not. They taste like a mix. They have live music from the owners husband who plays the bass against a CD - actually not too bad. The walls are cinderblock which ruins the attempt at an elegant atmosphere - feels like a cafeteria with drapes. I would suggest take out.

The food was really good, it was sort of tex mex but more on the side of Mexican I ordered a sandwich and the bread came as a homemade tortilla. Really good. The place was empty which was sad because this place deserves a lot of attention. Oh they had an old guy playing a guitar and it made the experience that much cooler.

This place is great. Everyone knew everyone. And if you didnt know someone that was the place to someones true color. This place truly has warming heart. The food is very good, it makes you very full easily ,but its so worth overdoing your orders.

Cons: Ingredients are not fresh and stale. Food is very very bad and not edible. This is probably the worst restaurant in the area. Pros: None, avoid this place, there are much better choices within walking distance.

Nuevo Leon is one of those local, strip mall gems. Very good food served by the family in a family owned restaurant. Excellent and friendly staff. And they have some incredible and unique desserts! Love this place!!
