I used to eat at Campuzano in Cedar Hill and Midlothian over 10 years ago and was excited to try this location out and did so back in March. First of all, they bring out 3 salsas with the chips. I like this idea, but none of the salsas really impressed me. I found out on the website that Fajitas were $9 on Tuesday. Apparently this was a secret deal because I neither saw this anywhere in the restaurant nor did my waiter mention it to me. I also saw no mention of their enchilada lunch special listed on the website. Anyways, I brought it up to the waiter and then he told me about the fajita special. I ordered beef fajitas. The meat looked overcooked but it was actually good. The grilled onions and peppers were great. The tortillas were yellow but tasted homemade so they got no complaints from me. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was given 4 large flour tortillas. This was more than plenty. The fajitas came with some refried beans on the skillet as well. Im a fan of refried beans but these were not good. Also I was unimpressed with the little scoop of generic guacamole included on the side. Its unfortunate that sit down restaurants are not able to deliver guacamole anywhere close to the quality found at Chipotle. I had to scoop the salsa (which was brought out with the chips) with a for my fajitas. The salsa really didnt do it for me on the fajitas at all (it was also a bit too watery, IMO). I also ordered the Tres Leches cake which was large but certainly not the best Ive had. In fact, I prefer the Tres Leches at El Fenix. The atmosphere of this place is pretty cool. I love the decor which makes you feel like you are actually in Texas. For lunch there is no valet. The parking lot is tiny and I saw a bunch of similar vans in the parking lot with ladders on top of them. I could only assume that a neighboring business parks them there making the parking lot even smaller. I noticed you can park on the street 1 block south of Oak Lawn, meaning you will have to walk a block or two but it shouldnt be too bad. Overall, I think this place offers some good authentic cuisine. I just wish they had better salsa and better guacamole.

This was my first visit and it was "interesting". It was extremely noisy with two large parties seated side by side in the front of the building. It was surprising they were not seated further apart. the food was prepared and presented nicely, my friend had the chicken and shrimp tacos and said they were very good. I had a taco salad which i must say was pretty lackluster. It consisted of lettuce and ground beef( not greasy which was a plus) and some cheese with dollops of guacamole and sour cream. There was really not flavor and no other vegetables one comes to expect in a taco salad- maybe some tomatoes( there were 2 small pieces buried under the lettuce) and maybe some onions? I am sure there are other fine dishes there but the atmosphere was something i will reconsider if asked to dine there again. the loud speak horn and singing at the birthdays was a bit like some of those old childrens/family eateries of the 70s, which didnt seem to fit the place. the brunch menu looked good and i have heard they make great bloody marys and the food is good, while the crowd is a bit quieter. I may try there before the final decision of making a favorite.

Found this place just driving by it. Glad I did. I finally found a true Mexican restaurant in Dallas. This is not tex-mex. Fresh tortillas came to the table with 3 different salsas for dipping. They were all fantastic. Dinner showed up in a very timely manner piping hot and ready to eat. Taste and presentation were beyond WOW. Meals are not cheap here, but affordable. I would say just beyond a tight budget. Theres a bar at the entrance address which is highly visible throughout the restaurant. I wouldnt recommend kids come here do to the atmosphere. A date for sure. Music is a bit loud, which would make it difficult to have a business lunch/dinner. Although the atmosphere is definitely geared around entertaining. Waiter was so concerned about quality, he even offered to replace my chips and salsas for fresh when I got done eating dinner.

The food was great BUT ... It was so hot and buggy inside with the windows open and they have no fans and sweat was going down my back so it was hard to enjoy the good food. The ice in my drinks melted after a few minutes and my waiter didnt even bother to ask to refill even my water. One waiter told me to drink a lot of mixed drinks and then I wouldnt feel how hot it was inside. I had to get up twice and get my water refilled because my waiter Luis didnt do it and had to ask for more chips because he didnt refill nothing!!! It was cooler in the bathroom but not my place to have dinner. I think fans would help it was just too hot I did not enjoy my dinner and my waiter was the worst Ive ever seen. The music is extremely too loud you cant even have a conversation without screaming.

Their food is the best! All of their grilled veggies are to die for. I use to go to the original location in Cedar Hill and was very excited when the Uptown location opened. They have a pretty good Sunday brunch as well. I was just here for Cico de Mayo and for 5 days straight they had a different margarita on special from May 1st to May 5th. There was a DJ spinning top 40 hits and they even had to put out more tables/chairs in the parking lot. If I had one critique it would be that-parking! But its Uptown, so parking is a problem everywhere in that area. Thank goodness there was a nice police officer conducting traffic so to get back on to Oaklawn was a breeze. The service is good there. But of course for Cinco, it was crazy mad, people were everywhere.

We stopped here on our way through to Houston and had such a great experience I had to leave a review. From the minute we walked in it was all about service. The staff quickly pulled a table together a table for me, husband, plus two kids even though my toddler was having a breakdown outside. Once said toddler calmed down I went inside to a wonderfully happy atmosphere with good music and margaritas (I had the sangria swirl -- two of them actually). The staff thought our drinks took too long so volunteered to comp our queso, which I thought was a sign of great service. The food was wonderful, bathroom clean and comfortable, atmosphere uplifting, and service friendly and attentive. We will definitely make this a regular stop in our travels.

This was my 2nd time here. I decided to give them another try after my last experience I ordered the spinach enchiladas and got spinach that was soaked in oil and wrapped in a soggy tortilla drizzled with green salsa. And it was cold. Today I ordered the beef fajita salad and the waiter brought me a chicken salad. Which I was ok with but the chopped peices of chicken were hard as old gummy bears and dry. Tasted like yesterdays leftovers. My partner ordered the chicken flautas and any second longer in the fryer and he would of been eating ashes. They were black and burnt. So this was my last time going to this place. The waiters and staff are nice and friendly but they need to fix the food quick. For now Ill stick to Ojedas or Mannys
