I have been going to Silver Spoon for 15+ years now. Love their food...what made me a regular customer at this Indian food shop is the "spicy" gyros...its this delicious red spicy sauce...trust me when I say this...Ive had gyros from all over Dallas...from other competing restaurants and what makes this place truly unique for gyros is the amount of flavor that is packed in! Masala french fries are delicious here too. I also love the little samosas that the lady makes who owns this restaurants and the yum parathas too. Oh btw this place has alot of meat dishes so if you are a big fan of meat, then this is definetely your spot...the chicken seekh kebab, tandoori chicken, and fried fish are always cooked to perfection. Oh and finally, as far as customer service is concerned...this place rocks!! Its owned by a small family and they always treat all their customers like extended family. I have seen them rush to bring your food when you tell them that you are hungry. They always do everything with a big smile...asking you multiple times if you need anything else to eat or more bread with your meal. Silver Spoon Allen is the pioneer landmark restaurant to come to Dallas when it comes to serving halal food. They opened up in the 80s I believe and used to be in originally located in Richardson. Remember that other restaurants only opened up so that they could compete with them...so thats how you know they must have great food!!!

The truth is that the food was not good at all. The rice was not cooked, the goat meat was mainly bones and the salad was at least a few days old. Environment: The chairs are very old and dirty so I had to actually put some napkins on the chair to cover the previously spilled food. Tables are awful and sticky and had no idea what to do about it. There is no water so you have to finish your food without it. There is a huge refrigerator in the area which was very dirty and I am not sure why they did not keep it on the back room. The environment is basically very dumpy and dirty. Anyhow, I had to finish the food to find out about the quality of it which was not good at all. Lastly, there is no one in the restaurant when we got there so that also shows that even locals do not go there.

After reading the reviews, my family and I decided to try it out and it was a big mistake. We tried 4-5 different dishes hoping to find something decent to eat. We order goat Biryani, Behari Kabob, Nehari, and Karahi Goat. Everything was ready within 7 minutes which means it was heated and not cooked fresh. Meat was cold in the middle and could not tell what animal the meat came from. Service was horrible, the rude lady at the counter was too busy watching tv and when we asked her she said food was cooked the day before and heated as people dont have time to wait. I cant believe they have been in business for 21 years because the place is dirty, bad food, and service. I would never go back.

I visited the place over the weekend based on google reviews. Customer service is excellent and they are super friendly down to earth folks. The food unfortunately was a completely off. I got the #25 combo. Food was hot but just had no flavor. Chicken looked tandoori but was bland, chicken biriyani was fair, but the goat biriyani was again bland. Chicken curry was all salt and turmeric, mutton curry was barely there in flavor. The dessert....was again no taste. Good Naan. Ive been to Pakistan, India, and Im not expecting it to be the same but my goodness atleast be in the ball park.

Went for quick bite this evening. Did not know about the early closing hours during this month. The owners son graciously accommodated my dine-in request. They left early but some employees stayed back to allow me to eat in peace. Food was excellent. Fried fish took me back to Amritsari fish. Also tried something that was new to me - Sajji.......great tasting slow grilled mutton. All this accompanied with fried paratha....something similar to a bhatura. Simple place. Good food.

This place is really old, family owned and operated, and has nothing special about it, but the food is extremely delicious. As for the bad reviews/complaints that the food is not fresh - well duh mom and pop shop places like this arent going to prepare to chicken with those spices right when you order otherwise you might wait a few hours for this type of food - this isnt pasta and its definitely not fast food - its Desi food which means it takes a while to prepare!

Response to Eric Johansssons feedback. I think Media portraits misleading information. In Fact, Halal, means, animal is slaughtered by hand, by saying Gods name first, rejecting sacrificing animals for any other being. Hand cut Halal meat is more beneficial health wise, since less bloods left in animals body when neck is not totally disconnected, and brain sucks out all the blood, and meat is more pure and edible.

Recently relocated and for me got a make over. This is the oldest Indo-Pak restaurant I know. Good thing about this place is that its not very spicy so kids likes to eat there too. Biryani is the hottest item there following Gyros. There Parathas are one of a kind and you will not find them anywhere else in Dallas. Its located just behind Capital One bank. They have outdoor seating too. I highly recommend it.

Me & my mom went. I enjoyed the food. I gave 4 stars because it was almost 10 minutes before we were acknowledged. I almost told my mom we were leaving. But, the guy in charge was very nice & courteous. The young lady who served our food was nice ☺ no water / soda machine. Drinks are kept in a fridge/ cooler (visible to public). I may go back.

Super clean place with a lot of choices on the menu. The owner is always there and takes his time in explaining the items. The food is not overly spicy and neither too bland. That is one place I dont think twice about taking my friends and family to. Items recommended: mash daal, fish poboy, lahori fish, nihari, samosas and chai.

Pulled up to the front, excited for a new restaurant in the Twin Creeks area. Unfortunately, their door advertises halal meat...meaning that its been blessed by a Muslim priest. As a Christian, not interested in any part of that. Backed out and went to the Indian place across the street.

Their food was terrible. The Lady on the counter was super rude. They serve food days old and was not properly heated. When we told her that food is not good, she said that we can go somewhere else. Go there if you want to get sick because my husband and I got sick after eating there.

I have been to several Indian restaurants in the area and they were mostly good but this is absolutely the best Indian restaurant I have been to. The biryani was delicious and the fish was great. They also have a kids friendly menu. Will definitely be going there again.
