When my husband I were looking for a light bite prior to getting dessert at Kaminskis we found Market St Deli and thought we would give it a try..... we should have opted for double dessert and skipped the dinner altogether....not only was the place "ok", the prices were high, the food was VERY small (think 6 inch sub roll from a grocery store bagged bread aisle with not enough meat to cover half of it on my DHs sandwich) and in addition I had ordered a combo for 2.95 more and upgraded for soup instead of chips at an additional 75 cent charge...when the cashier came to tell us there was no more soup I asked that my money be refunded since I didnt want chips I would just have the salad I had ordered and the drink....he didnt know how to refund the combo and upgrade price..service was sub par, the salad did not have all the components as listed on the board....when you have a PLETHORA of wonderful quick bite eateries within a two block stroll from Market St I suggest you use your feet & your head - steer clear of Market St Deli....

My friend and I were walking downtown today and decided to stop in and have lunch at the market street deli for the first time. We found that it is small but quaint, the food was just as good as a sandwich from anywhere else. We thought the staff were very nice and they were quick to get the orders out. The only thing I would say is that they are a bit stingy with the chips! We got crumbles.. Anyway, we would go back and have lunch there again! Right Liz?

I definitely should have read the reviews online before going. Im not sure how they have ended up with as many stars as they have. They have a worker who solely goes out on the street to solicit people in the door. If the food was good, people would automatically come!!! The chicken and tuna salad had enough salt to fill the Atlantic ocean. The gyros had two piece of meat on it. High prices. Low quality.

My wife and I travel quite a bit. The sandwiches were great as was the quality of the food and the portions were large. The service was fast and friendly. The only issue I had was the place was packed with customers (which should tell you the food was great). I highly recommend this deli.

When the chef is outside telling you to try his shrimp and grits, you try the shrimp and grits. It was good! No frills, served in paper bowls, it was definitely tempting to ask for seconds. I would not say theyre the best in town, but a great little place for a quick breakfast. Enjoy!

I was very pleased with the meal and service while dining with some friends during the first week of December. The dining atmosphere was very good. It will be a great place of dining for me in the future. Although living in Columbia SC, dining there makes the trip worthwhile. Thanks

Fantastic breakfast spot across from the Charleston Market. Delicious grits and biscuits. Our omelettes were seasoned and delicious as well. All for $7 each. You cant have a better breakfast.

Best bang for your buck! Breakfast sandwiches are amazing, try them on a croissant or a biscuit. The crab omelette was to die for. Great value.
