We placed our order at 8:56. Expected a bit of a wait on delivery...maybe around 10:00-10:15. At 10:30 or so we called to check to make sure everything was okay. We were told the kitchen was backed up and blame was pushed to "new staff members". I explained we were only trying to clarify the order was on the way. We were told the order left the store a while before and should be showing up any second. At 10:39 the driver called to explain his phone died (his source of Gps locating his destination) so he stopped at Walgreens to get a charger and charge his phone. He assured me per his GPS on his now charged phone said 15 minutes. Understanding and appreciating this courtesy, when he apologized I immediately told him no worries and wed be here. Obviously the store had ZERO issue with getting in touch with the driver though his phone was dead and to be honest I was glad to know both the driver was safe and the food was on the way. At 10:58, 20 minutes-ish later, I was back on the phone with the store, they told me the driver went to the gas station to charge his phone and immediately tried to turn the phone over to the owner. I explained...Im not upset, I want nothing for free but at this point they too should be concerned. I requested they call to check on the driver. At 11:13 the food arrived, my son answered, the driver gave him the food and took off. No signature on the credit card slip. Nothing. Now, the transaction was placed at 8:56, ran on the card per the receipt at 9:02 and the food showed up at 11:13 which was 2 hours and 11 minutes later. 1 hr and 28 mins later the store assured us the food was arriving at any moment. 43 minutes later after another complaint and courtesy call from the driver the food arrived. The worst thing a company can do is mix stories and lie to appease someone. But please remember he kept the tip that was processed before we were treated w disregard..... Good job teapot.

It saddens me to have to leave a negative review for Teapot. My husband and I have been enjoying Teapot for a few years and its been our go to Chinese restaurant. However, lately we have been very disappointed with our food and service. Most recently we ordered delivery (our first time doing so) and since we know its about a 15-20 minute drive we made sure we were within their delivery zone. They assured us we were. They told us it would take about 45 minutes to an hour to receive our food. We called them after an hour and 15 minutes and they apologized and let us know that someone would arrive soon. When I called them back 30 minutes later they first had to check to see if our food had left! They apologized and let me know that this happens a lot, especially since we live "so far away". They didnt offer us a discount on our order or anything, it was only after I insisted that the young guy on the phone offered us 2 free egg rolls and some rice on our NEXT order. Our food arrived just under 2 hours and was lukewarm and my husbands order was incorrect. We will not be ordering from Teapot again as this is at least the second time weve gotten poor service and less than stellar quality food. If you cant deliver within a reasonable amount of time then dont offer to. Get your life together Teapot. PS: it was not game day or anything like that. We placed our order at 7pm on a Thursday night.

We had been going at lunch but stopped off at dinner tonight. This was a mistake! First, we both got very sour/spoiled unsweet tea, then were served the wrong beverage, then brought tea that was not much better. Finally the meal came. My Buddhas delight looked funny. The sauce was thin and you could see puddles of grease. We told the waiter, who told the cook. Nothing happened. I tried to eat a few pieces of vegetables, but the heads of broccoli were full of grease. I began to belch uncontrollably. I am still burping an hour later. The grease was that bad. I have never had a reaction like that to food. I am surprised that I did not throw up in the restaurant. The manager said since I attempted to eat a few pieces of vegetables, he would only give me 20% off, but my plate was full sitting on the table. He then did not give us the 20% off. My husband also burped his dinner up, but was able to down his plate. He claims to be used to greasy food. Buddhas delight is not supposed to be served in a pool of grease. Avoid this place if you want healthy Asian food or are prone to reflux. The managers attitude we keep us away in the future...never again!

Okay, so first of all, I work in the service industry, so I am very understanding and seldom complain about anything when it comes to ordering takeout or going out to eat. Secondly, Teapot is by far my favorite chinese food delivery place in Columbia--I order food from there at least once, sometimes twice, a week. That being said, I will NEVER be giving them my business again. The customer service is non existent--they are flat out rude (not to mention you cannot understand what they are saying because they wont speak up or annunciate their words-and by the way those who answer the phones are not foreign so they have no excuse to talk like they have marbles in their mouth). I order the SAME thing every week. This time, my order was wrong, so I called to correct it. First, I was put on and off hold several times, then the girl who originally took my order comes on the line and says, "I repeated your oder to you three times for a reason, so youre the one whos mistaken". EXCUSE ME? Really? Teapot, you have lost a loyal customer due to your RUDE staff (this is excluding the delivery drivers who are always very pleasant).

I am truck driver whos truck is broke down.. no transportation.. I ordered delivery, sweet sour chicken with fried rice, 2 large teas wonton soup and egg rolls.. 1st they sent meal with no forks.i can understand that Lucky front desk had plastic fork,. Then when I opened box with main food, they gave me chicken, large order when I asked for small, I can deal with that but what I cant deal with they send the food WITHOUT THE SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE.. so I called, and told them, they said sorry but they can give me 2 egg rolls for my next order.. I told them I have no idea when Ill be back.. they said they are extremely busy and it will be an hour or so to get sauce to me.... I told them never mind and was about to say that I want to be reimburse for the sweet and sour chicken order that I didnt get.. . But they hung up on me.. so I strongly advise not to use their delivery service.. or go there.. I will be contacting the better business agency. To complain, and the took snap shots at the other complaints..

We celebrated Chinese New Year here last night with a good sized gorup. Their catering of our event was pretty good. They were very accommodating. A very intimate & special event. I cant say the most luxurious or best food Ive had, but my bar is pretty high. Each dish was delicious. The group price was VERY reasonable and included quite a bit. They served dishes family style to each table and included a nice range of selections. Unlimited Tea, soft drinks , water. Beer & other alcohol drinks available for individual tab.Three different appetizers, 3-4 main dishes, rice, noodle, vegetable sides. One dish was delayed coming out, but that may have been to accommodate the activities we were doing so the serving would not disrupt our awards & promotions. Lots of little details to add to our celebration. A couple of performances by the owners daughters. All in all a great time & a nice place for our celebration.
