I visited Dairy Queen in Tannersville today to take advantage of the coupon I received by email for buy one 1/3lb double cheeseburger, get one free, as well as the buy one "Bakes" item, get one free. I handed over the coupon and told the cashier I wanted to take advantage of the deal. Immediately I was told "Oh, we dont take those here." No, the coupon specifically states to use it at any local Dairy Queen location. She then got all upset with me and stormed off to get help on inputting the coupon. Someone else came over and wasnt kind either, showed the girl how to put the coupon in the register. She still didnt know how to do it, called over another person who also told me she didnt know if they took those coupons, and "we dont have these in our system so we cant put them in." Somehow they got it working, I added a drink and large fry to the order and paid. My food was brought to the table and there was only one cheeseburger for the "Buy one GET ONE" deal. She told me I was wrong, that you buy something and get a free burger. Told her no, look at that coupon again and I want my free burger that I paid and used the coupon for. Opened up the one burger and it was smothered in mustard. I am highly allergic to mustard, this would have been very dangerous if I didnt see it on the wrapper and ate it. I gave it back to the employee and she looked at me like I was insane. The manager came over and told me it was all my fault because putting mustard on the burger was the "special DQ recipe" and I should have told them I didnt want mustard. Excuse me, I have NEVER been to any place that puts mustard on the burger without requesting it, and it did not say on the menu they put mustard on the burger. I have ordered a burger in the past that did not come with mustard. But now its my fault? I explained this and the manager demanded I give her another $4.12 because the order was not rung in correctly and I didnt pay the full amount. The "large" fry I purchased was pitiful and the container was only half full. The fries were cold and soggy and just disgusting. They brought out more for me after a huge hassle but this container was only 1/4 of the way full and the fries were drenched in grease, so not much better than the first ones. After I ran into all these issues and they were extremely rude and condescending, and I had to pay even MORE money? At that point I expected something free at least, and I didnt even get an apology. If the manager was so extremely rude I never want to return to a Dairy Queen location and want to experience how the other employees here are trained. I never did use the coupon for the BOGO Bakes item, I took my money elsewhere, to a local small business that deserved and actually appreciated my money, unlike Dairy Queen that would rather me be out of their face. Wish I could leave zero stars, one star is giving too much credit!!

Extremely frustrating! Service was really really bad. Only one person taking orders/cashier (I have a feeling it was a manager), and then she would also have to run to deliver food to a table and stop taking more orders - while there was a long line of customers. Totally dont understand that concept! Folks were turning away from the door as soon as they saw the crowd, and saw how slow it moved. Delivery to tables seemed very slow, and I watched the ice cream orders melt on the counter since they were not being delivered quick enough. The servers could not figure out what flavors they were, and that added to delay. They wont deliver melted ice cream, which is a great thing. However, it also meant that they had to remake any order that was melting. It took us more than a 1/2 hour to get 2 simple ice cream orders. I should have went with to a MAC machine to get cash and then stick with going to Gabels! I hope whoever buys that establishment keeps the same business format. Cant go wrong with Gabels, and theyve proven to handle Summer crowds nicely! Shape up DQ Tannersville!

We go there fairly regularly, and the service is always slow (staff seemingly playing and having a good time while customers are waiting) but last night we went to pick up and take home ice cream for the children. We ordered 4 mini blizzards and one small. Usually they ask if you want lids, but not last night. When they went to hand the order to us, we asked for lids. They had one for the small, but for the minis the young lady told us they would have to scrape off half the ice cream to put the lid on, and you get more without the lid. First of all, either they were out of the appropriate size blizzard lids, or they dont stock them for the mini like for the other sizes. Well, by the time we got home I was wearing all that extra ice cream, because it melted all over my legs. If they dont carry the right cups and lids, perhaps they should make it in the next size cup so they can put a lid on it. Very disappointed in the service!! I think they need a real manager in the place.

I dont think I will ever go to this dairy ever again. The staff didnt appear to be friendly at all. I was only asking a question about my blizzard to make sure I wasnt eating any one elses( mistakes happen) so I approached the gentleman asking if had the right one. The woman next him roll her eyes as if I said something way off towards her. When no one address her. I also caught staff eating ice cream behind the counter. This is some one that used to work at a dairy queen... I understand they are not getting paid much but at least be professional instead of laughing in my face when I requested to see a manager. 06/21> the night shift<

We ordered 4 ice creams. 2 sundaes, 1 Blizzard, and 1 moolatte. The Blizzard and one sundae came out right away. The other sundae took about 5 more minutes. Then they didnt bring out the moolatte. After about 10 more minutes, I went up to ask about it and saw it just sitting on the counter. Obviously it was a bit melted by the time my aunt got it. Overall, the staff seems young and like they couldnt keep track of everything, especially because they didnt bring everything or all at the same time.

Stopped in for a quick blizzard. Probably would have simply stood and waited for them but yet gave us a table number and we had to wait at a table for them to come out. Pretty standard came out as solid as expected. Staff was friendly enough and facility seemed reasonably maintained. Bathroom was fine. Tables were a bit messy but it was pretty busy so maybe they dont get out in the dining room often to wipe tables. Probably better ice cream and burgers etc. nearby.

Manager needs to seriously reconsider theyre hiring practices? Meaning, dont just hire anyone who fills out an application. Its sad because usually all DQs are awesome, but unfortunately this location is not. Also, how in the heaven do you run out of napkins?! Who is managing your inventory?? With any business theres always room for improvement, but in this particular case theres tons of room. Come on get it together or watch your business dwindle :-(
