Just went for the first time the other day! I think this is my favorite cafe in the entire city! We got there right at the tail end of a rush, so a lot of the vegan options were depleted, but we both got a vegan sausage sandwich with saurkraut and it was so good! The coffee is great and made perfectly, there is easily accessible vegan creamer available too. The person working at the counter was very friendly and helpful, and the prices were reaallllyyyy reasonable. I felt really comfortable there immediately despite being the kind of person that gets a little anxious in new places. My ONLY complaint might be that the music was a little bit on the loud side, but I dont know if that would be an issue for many people as I can be kind of noise-sensitive. That being said I enjoyed the music they were playing anyway, so it wasnt a huge deal. :) Well definitely be going back really soon!

I have liked Lilis for a while now-- friendly service, love that its a locally owned coffee shop that has music. But these folks are also amazing human beings. Long story short, I found myself caught on the roof of a friends house about a block away (trying to feed cats and realized too late she had borrowed back her door key). Climbing up the ladder in phases was treacherous enough, but climbing down would have been suicide. With a bleeding hand from a dog bite, a dying cell phone, and no friends close by, I phoned the only place I could find the number to who might help: Lilis. The young woman not only didnt hang up on me but dispatched a crew of four to hold the ladder like the fire department helping a cat down from a tree. Awesome coffee, awesome people!

Decent cappuccino, not acidic, mild with a creamy foam on top. They served my cappuccino in a tea mug, a bit unusual. But hey, its their style not mine. Great looking interior. There is a room at the back of the cafe that has a dark-wood decoration that gives the cafe a classic vibe. The restroom is clean and spacious and has a cabinet top for bag, jacket ..., which I really appreciate in a public restroom. Suggestion for improvement: The staff member who served me was fine, not particularly welcoming though. It smelled like fried oil, which did not go well with coffee. Ventilation must be improved.

The staff is very rude. Basically told my friend they had no interest in customers. For a place that is vegan friendly they have very few vegan breakfast options and things on the menu were unavailable. No fruit or juice. My toast arrived cold. Coffee was weak. I came in because I really wanted to support the place as I believe in giving my money to small local businesses but this experience was so unpleasant I will never come back.

heres what you do: get a coffee get an order of either punk toast or vegan bahn mi talk to the wonderful staff of ladies and gentlemen tip them handsomely chill,eat,drink while listening to tight jams on the record player clean up and go upstairs to mind cure records,talk to mikey and eric,and buy records hit copacetic comics if you so desire(and you should) there,i just planned your day.you are welcome.

Doesnt quite hold up to the high number of third wave shops in Pittsburgh. Though it is quite cozy and the music selection was good, the espresso was quite sour. They serve Commonplace, so one can get a better shot just down the road. A nice place if youre just passing by, but nothing to travel for.

Adorable neighborhood coffee shop is a great way to meet some locals. They have an extensive menu of breakfast and lunch options, asking with pasties. And their coffee is lovely - great artists! Its worth a visit to check out this little gem.
