EMBARRASING EXPERIENCE I wanted to make it a point to suggest my input. Last night one of our guest had the most embarrassing experience with a door man (Demetri) that this restaurant accepted as representation. After leaving the affair held at a gallery near by we invited two hundred plus individuals to attend your place solely by the ratings given online. Waiting for the acceptance to the restaurant our guest of honor was spoken to so disrespectfully. She met with the rest of the guests in line and your doorman made it a point to speak to her rudely. The guest asked, “What do you need for the entrance?” The doorman eager to embarrass the patron made it a point to make her feel uncomfortable. We went to celebrate and in return we were treated inconsistently to the ratings. The guests invited are all in positions to create detailed encounters of the event online. I wanted to be the first to reach out and express my feelings on this matter. The other doorman was normal, a human being to say the least. He was respectful and even after the ordeal attempted to make it better. At that point the thrill to enjoy the rest of the evening had been destroyed by the egoistical interaction with the doorman. We took our 200+ individuals and business elsewhere. This is very harmful for any business as we also can relate to management of one and believe that all representation of a business should be honored.

Ive been here a few times because its the hot destination in the summer months because.. rooftops are great. PROS -Trendy and upscale, plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. -Good location, walking distance to all the other Old City bars on the 2nd/Market area and also IBG. CONS -Always a line. They cap you based on how many people can fit in the elevator so the line goes by painfully slow. -Its a hotel bar, so think people who go to hotel bars, which isnt really your usual 20-somethings crowd -On the same note about hotel bars, theyre hotel bar drink prices that are fine for those on the older spectrum trying to woo ladies, or those with credit cards expensed by companies -The music is hit or miss. Its house-y, lounge-y vibe, nothing you can really full out dance to. -While this is a rooftop, its only the 6th floor or something, and theres large trees and buildings blocking your view I think for a hotel bar for someone visiting the city, or actually staying at this hotel, its a great vibe and sticks to their lounge feel. But if youre trying to booze up and have a fun night, skip this.

Decided to try this place since I heard a lot about it. The cover charge is $20 just to get into the place. After that I waited almost an hour at the bar before even getting served. The older red haired bartenders service was horrible. He did not make any effort to serve a lot of people and he kept completely ignoring a ton of people. After going to the other side where there was a nicer bartender I was served. My friends and I were charged $40 for three drinks, that is incredibly pricey if you ask me. Be prepared to drop some serious money when you go here. The music was good and the ambience was good, but beyond that the service was bad and the prices on drinks were a little too high.

There are some great rooftop lounges in the city and stratus is not one of them. We were celebrating our friends 40th. She had the private room booked months ago but when arrived was told it was given to someone else who offered to pay top dollar(no notice). She was forced to have the party in the main bar. The bouncers were on power trips and far from courteous. The only thing that was positive was the two fabulous servers. Save your money and go to a place who has respect for their patrons. Very disappointed.

2 stars... Dont rent a cabana. Youll have a drink minimum that you have to hit and the servers and management will do their best not to attend to you and your group. That way, they get your money and dont have the expense of serving drinks. Took us 1 hour to get the groups first round of drinks. I kid you not! The only reason it gets two stars is because the decor was very nice, and my drink tasted good. At the end of the day, there are much better places to spend a couple grand on a group party...

Stratus Rooftop Lounge has the worst bar service. They recruit people to make you buy topshelf drinks that could cost you hundreds of dollars for just one drink. You may not realize the price until they charge it on your card. They charge ten times more than their adverised menu price. Think twice before you decide to go to Stratus. You may become bankrupt!!! Beware!! you will be thrown out and embarassed, if you dont pay the hundreds they charge for a drink before you finish that drink!!!

I love this lounge, no cover charge before 10pm. They have really good flat breads and specialty cocktails during a happy hour. We are from Europe and i was personally surprised with their staff almost all of them are bilingual, they make us to feel like at home. Vapor pavilion is something amazing, looks like a classy Amsterdam style and its non smoking room witch is great. I lot of guests from hotel are coming up and its a great place to meet a really interesting people.

If I were to ask you to create a cliche of a douchebag nightclub, you might in an improv class come up with this. Typical music, no view, douchy bouncers who creat a line when the place is half empty. I dont mind a contrived, lame nightclub, isnt that sort of what theyre supposed to be? However, this one lands flat, takes too much kerfuffle to get into, and is just a general yawn. Not actually an interesting place after any of that either. Save your time.

Went here for my birthday last week and it was a horrendous experience. Terrible view, NOT dress to impress, more like a college atmosphere so everyone was dressed down and in converse sneakers. Drinks were extremely expensive. Bartender was rude and made us wait almost an hour for just 3 beers. No where to really sit. Do not recommend this place, ended up going to a bar down the street w much better service. Shaking my head.

Usually good music but whoever the guest dj was 7/22 was horrible . Guest Dj played whatever she wanted didnt take suggestions. She was in her own world. People cleared the place out and I left myself. Music so horrible you didnt even want to get a drink.Paid a $20 cover for me and my 2 friends. What a waste.

I hate clubbing. But within that hate, I have my loves. And I love Stratus Rooftop Lounge. I love its weird lighting, its giant stage, its gay-friendly rooms and its unabashedly Sosa-industrial vibe. The only thing I dont love is its cash only policy, and that is the reason for the docked star.
