From the planning process to the actual wedding day, everything went perfectly. Carrie S. is the wedding coordinator, and let me tell you, we couldn’t have asked for a better person to assist us through the process. Carrie is extremely friendly, organized, and professional. We planned our wedding for close to two years, and she was with us every step of the way. She ensured that all of our guests were satisfied, all of our details were followed through, and always answered questions promptly and thoroughly. She even gave us her cell phone and called/texted us on her day off. On the day of the wedding, she made us feel at ease, and ensured that everything went according to plan. Carrie will probably own this place one day, because she’s just that good. It’s rare to find someone in the service industry that is this accommodating. The Glasbern grounds are breathtaking. We chose to have our ceremony here in the beginning of October, on the ledge outside the Packhouse, and it was an amazing experience. Saying our vows on the top of the hill surrounded by our loved ones, the fall foliage, a pond, and a vista of fall forests was something we will never forget. On the day before the wedding, my groomsmen and I traversed the beautiful trails and paths around the property. It was a great moment to spend with my friends, and helped to relax all of us. Our reception was a blast. The food at Glasbern is top notch. The hors doeuvr were all perfectly cooked, and came out hot when they were supposed to be. The scallops were especially phenomenal, and people couldn’t get enough of them. They had two bartenders were who really friendly and quick with drinks. One of my groomsmen got to know them on a first name basis. The dinner itself was delicious; all filets were perfectly cooked and tender, and the chicken had a sauce that everyone raved about. You never get the feeling like anything is mass-produced or that it tastes like “wedding food.” No ice cream scooped mashed potatoes, salty brown gravy, or canned/frozen vegetables. The food is fresh, local, and well crafted. I wish we could go back and relive our wedding weekend at Glasbern. The cool thing is, we are always able to go back and stay here. We can go have dinner, stay overnight, and stand in the very spot where we started our life together. It wouldn’t be the same or as personal at a country club or run of the mill banquet hall. Glasbern is something unique and special. Getting married here will make your wedding day the perfect and best day that it should be.

My wife and I have stayed here a few times and have never had anything bad to say, except it seems a bit overpriced, compared to the other luxury hotels that we have stayed at in the area. (Hotel Hershey, Sayre Mansion in Bethlehem, etc.) However, our last stay here was not up to par for the price and reputation. The room we stayed in (one of the more expensive ones) was in need of some upkeep and renovations. Dimmer switches were falling off the wall, stained carpet, panels on the upstairs hot tub were falling off, just some minor upkeep would have made the room nicer. Dinner was ok, but our server could not answer a single question about the food or drinks, and came out cold, and the steak was 3 temps overcooked. The service was par for a red roof inn..... We were told to get our own firewood, and the maid called our room at 745am to see what time we wanted the room made up. However, when I called to speak to the owner, he truly did apologize, and I felt as though he really meant it. There was not much he could do to make me happy at this point, but he still wanted to hear my concerns and issues, and patiently sat through some of my bickering. I want to give this place 5 stars, and hopefully can in the future. We would like to stay here again, and probably will in a few years to see if anything has changed. Hopefully this review will change to 4 or 5 stars in the future. I would still have to recommend this place to friends and family because we have had some wonderful times here. All I can say, is stay for yourself, it is worth it!

I heard about how wonderful the place was and decided to send my parents there for their anniversary. I called a week in advance to set up a reservation. I had informed them it was for my parents 34th anniversary and gave them my card number so all expenses are taken care of. I also informed them I did NOT want them to know the amount of the bill. They assured me they will take extra care of my parents. The day of the dinner I called again to make sure everything was in place and they again assured me everything was taken care of. I called my parents the day after to ask about there experience they said the food was excellent but the experience not so much. The waiter/ress was not attentive, they completely forgot the dinner was for my parents anniversary and at the end of the meal they gave my father the check. My father had to explain to the waitress the meal was supposed to be paid for. After some confusion waiter/ress took the bill back and sorted the matter out. I was very upset because I wanted their experience to be a memorable as I heard the Glasbern Inn was highly reviewed yet it ended up being slightly disappointing especially when I reminded them of the occasion TWICE. I called the following day the manager is sending a gift certificate to compensate but alas you cannot turn back time. Moving forward I now have reservations about sending someone there for a special occasion.

I took my girlfriend here January 2011 for our first trip as a couple and we had the best time. Our room was incredible, the food was amazing, the service was fantastic, and the ambiance was wonderful. We still talk about this trip and cant wait to go back! One potential pitfall was that it was a little bit out of the way, but it was worth it for the seclusion and views from the room. There was a lot of snow on the ground when we went and everything was just so beautiful. It really added to the romantic feeling, which wouldnt have been the same if it was more "in town." The only other "negative" worth mentioning is that the TVs are HD but the cable feed and DVD selections arent, which makes for a bit of a grainy video quality, but if youre going to a bed and breakfast, youre probably not watching much TV, haha. Anyway, great place! Well definitely be making a tradition of going to the Glasbern!

This place is truly an amazing getaway! I stayed for 2 nights in the pack house in Jan 2017 and it was so relaxing and cozy. The deal on groupon was reasonable and exceeded all of my expectations with a huge, clean suite with a jacuzzi and all the bells and whistles. Very quiet atmosphere, secluded location, friendly staff and a delicious restaurant. The restaurant was a bit pricey but the food was delicious and our waiter, Parker catered to our every need! Even offered to bring our desserts to our room later that night since we were beyond full. He was very professional and competent, along with all the other staff members. Would recommend and also return myself!
