Quite a few of us went to check out the Pig and turnip this last Thursday. We tried a fairly wide variety of their menu and not a single one of us was displeased. The fondue cheese is fantastic and there are several menu options that include it. The sausage used in the brat poppers is very well made with an great mild flavor as well as the lightly seasoned breading and they dont leave any greasy aftertaste like some deep fried sausage does. I had the Karteburger and it was incredible. The beer braised onions paired incredibly well with the fondue cheese and left me wanting more even though I was stuffed. On an added note that the gluten free cheddar biscuit that was on my burger was a great option. No Crunchy, dry, or weirdly too chewy bun. It was something I would gladly order again and didnt leave me wistful for regular bread. I genuinely appreciate the hard work that you can tell is put into the food. For those who worry about cross contamination, I feel more comfortable here than some other places that say they offer gluten free options but dont genuinely do so. As a cook who cant eat gluten I understand how hard it can be to make food gluten free that everyone can enjoy and after speaking with the chef here and trying a lot on their wonderful menu, the Pig and turnip has exceeded where most have fell short.

If you want an authentic homemade style Deutsche schnitzel or schnitzel with brotchen. Come here. They make there own breadcrumbs out of Kaiser rolls which gives it that home cooked texture and taste. If you want to keep it traditional dont have them with Pickles which Im sure does give it an interesting twist. Have it served with lemon. I think the place is small but perfect with knowledgeable staff. Theres literally steps away from Jaeger Schnitzel and pork cordon bleu, It would be nice to see them move in that direction.

Fantastic food, great, fast service, and price tags that wont make your wallet weep--especially considering the quality of the food. The staff is all friendly, and they make truly delicious German style food. I cant recommend this place highly enough to anyone!

I had the TRADITIONAL SCHNITZEL and a BRUSSELS HARVEST SALAD and both were exceptionally good! The atmosphere on a Friday night was very lively with lots of people eating outside in the courtyard.

We really love this place. If it is nice out the patio is awesome. After 3 you can get beer from claim 52 next door. Rueben is great, live the pretzel, and Strudel. All the food is well done.

Way too salty and very uncomfortable seating. I went with two other people who both got somthing different than me and we all left halfway through the meal because it was almost inedible.

Enjoyable food within a community atmosphere. Friendly staff, simple yet pleasant German offerings , and some gluten free options. Casual.

The burger was great. The fondue was a bit strong with mustard I believe. Courteous staff.
