Nice neighborhood bar. It gets pretty crowded, mostly all locals. The food is great. Just burgers and nachos, but its all very tasty and you get a good amount for the price. If the olcc allowed kids there at ALL, my wife and I would go all the time. We used to, in fact, until we were 86d for sitting on the benches outside one gorgeous summer day with our infant son! Nothing against the Gladstone...it is what it is, but its unfortunate because theres almost nowhere else to go with a child in this neighborhood. I would give them five stars if not for the occasional rudeness from the owner and another male employee. On several occasions they have literally forced me out of the way to serve a young girl who had just arrived, when i was patiently waiting my turn to order another drink. They seem like decent people otherwise (like I said, we used to go there a LOT) but thats just terrible service. To be fair, the vast majority of the time they are great, and all the female servers are top notch. I cant help but bristle every time I see those dudes, now, so it definitely affects my opinion of the place. Anyway, dont let that stop you from trying the blue bomber burger, or the grubber. Good lord, the grubber is a good sandwich.

Quite possibly the best neighborhood pub in the whole damn city. Not hipstery modern, but not dirty and dank either (and I dont mind either of those things). But somehow the Stone is just right. Down to earth, filled with average friendly Portland folk of every (adult) age. Cozy but with lots of windows and outdoor seating. Super friendly bar staff who seem genuinely happy to see everybody. Enough TVs to watch a game (or two) from anywhere in the place but not so many (or so intrusively) that youll be distracted if you just want to chat. Cornhole tournaments outside in the summertime. Great drinks -- including lots of infused stuff they do themselves if you want to get fancy -- and hands-down the BEST burgers I have ever had in any establishment in any city, period. And no, Ive never written that in a review before. They cost $8-10 and are worth like $1,000. Also, possibly the best clam chowder Ive ever had too (Fridays only) -- definitely the best in a non-coastal city. The place is seriously second-to-none.

The Gladstone is the quintessential local hang out. Every neighborhood has a Gladstone. Lucky for these SE Portland, they have the actual Gladstone. Youll always find the atmosphere chill, whether inside or out. With ample patio space and warm weather, why not gravitate outside? Service is a hit. Theyre always checking up and keeping the drinks filled. The food is okay and very affordable... think $5 meals. "The Stone" can easily be deems on of those go to spots for you and your friends.

Definition of neighborhood pub. I dig this spot. I live around the corner, and they usually have a wide array of patrons here. i can catch my basketball games, enjoy outdoor seating and get mediocre bar food here, which is all you can really ask for at your neighborhood bar. The bartender is usuallu upbeat and friendly enough, and last time I was there I had some sangria which was actually pretty good.

When I moved back to Portland, The Stone became my new spot & still is years later. Incredible food, drink, & service; the employees care and lead to a memorable experience. I bring everyone here for any situation and its always a joy. Love yall! Get the bloody mary (honestly, best in Portland- maybe the world??) or at least a red beer and a Friday bowl of clam chower. Their bar food is to die for

The service here was absolutely awesome, very nice bartender with a very nice welcoming smile. July 30th around 10 pm. I sat on the patio with a friend and we ordered the chicken barbecue nachos we liked them so much that we ended up ordering a second one. First time here, but wont be the last. Very nice discovery tonight.

Gladstone Street Pub is a great place for sunny day drinking and cornhole and a great place for blazer games. Their bi-weekly clam chowder is the head liner for their menu. "The Stone" has good service and a long list of friendly regulars. My only beef with The Stone is the almost import prices on domestic beers.

Laid back is the right description, in the best possible way... Fantastic place to enjoy a quick weekend lunch and a beer, watch sports, and enjoy the hilarious banter between a relaxed crowd of regulars and the witty, friendly staff.

There is something about the Stone....I wish I could define it, but I love it here. The food is decent, the drinks are good, and the atmosphere is dark wood drinking in the middle of the day kind of cozy.

Great neighborhood pub. Good food, lots of veggie options too. Decent craft beer selection. The service is friendly, nice spot to watch the Timbers, or take in a game. Good energy but not too crowded.

Friendly bartenders, good drink selection and good bar food late night. Can get a little crowded sometimes, so dont spread the word except with those you trust, keep it cozy, keep it safe.

They have my favorite trivia night in town, decent taplists, fairly good food, and pretty cheap cocktails. The trivia is the real draw.
