Unfortunate experience, AGAIN (and again) with this specific location. So in 25+ yrs never had issue like this with Hawkins, Stow, N. Canton, or CFO ever. AVOID MONTROSE go elsewhere. Call in a to go order from 77/Copley Rd - pull in 10 minutes later - guy writes down the name - puts the thing on my windshield and then asks me to turn off the lights - which they will not turn off if the car is running. I quickly pointed out I have a two year old in the back on the entertainment system, and the air conditioning going - he was unimpressed. OBVIOUSLY my daytime running lights seem like bright lights to the staff - as inside of 10 minutes I had a visit from nearly every runner - so on the fourth, I told him to cancel the order since they continue to hassle me and already the food is nearly 10 minuets late when they dont have much of a crowd. He says he will send someone out. So 3-4 minutes later - food came out with a guy Id not seen before... It was very obvious the had just taken the burger off the grill. So when they are not busy - it took them 23 or 24 minutes to cook a PLAIN cheeseburger... When I asked he simply said he was told to take the order our to my space and collect. And yes they pulled the old side cheese trick. They simply put the cheese to the side of a very hot burger (fresh off the grill) and then wrap it tightly on its side - you end of with meat on the sandwich and the cheese only on the wrapper. and rather anemic mushroom order (5 smaller ones)... Yeah - wont be going back to this one EVER, as this was the third incident inside a year. AVOID the ATTITUDE go to another location.

Service is outstanding. Those kids are out there busting their behind. Literally a dead-sprint to serve you. Burger: Meh. Its nothing special. Bun has a sweet taste to it. Cheese didnt have much flavor. Didnt get the Galley Boy, it has two kinds of sauce and didnt look appealing. Fries were just boring. Not sure what makes their onion rings famous, overdone, with an unpleasant coating that is way too thick. Potato puffs, were simply tater tots and very bland and overcooked. I know there is a lot of nostalgia and the locals revere this place. Ive honestly had far-better burgers and fries at the other chain burger places. I hate to say this, but it is far more hype than substance. Probably worth a try if you are passing through and want something a little different, but dont expect to be "wowed". If you have ever had In-N-Out or Whattaburger, youll know exactly what Im talking about.

You know, I got to give Swensons credit for consistent food quality/quantity...Unfortunately, the rest of the "experience", (especially at this store) is frightening. Firstly, the place is nearly impossible to find. The parking lot looks like one of those back alley places in a major metropolitan city - like NY...trash everywhere, broken light fixtures, greasy-black-hand-smeared employee entrance door (there is no customer entrance)...JUST PLAIN CREEPY! We were watching employees come out their door to smoke between burgers...looking like "Goths" with bones in their noses, black fingernails and orange skunk stripes in their hair!! The order was wrong...they didnt fix it...we left disappointed.

This place is amazing, second time here and the people working to serve you are VERY fast, efficient, polite, and respectful, they even talk with you like a regular person, none of that fancy job talk, the meals are very cheap, and taste absolutely amazing as well! Its even fun watching them run around the building taking orders. We drive 30 minutes just to eat here and I highly recommend you try it at LEAST once, might very well be more than enough to make you come back for seconds.

40 year loyal customer. My first bad experience. I ordered a chicken basket, requesting the fries be replaced with applesauce. He took the order only to return and tell me they cant do it. I have to take the fries and if I want applesauce and coleslaw I have to pay extra. No reason given. I get it. Charge me a little more but dont force me to take the fries! Swenson, you are no longer my favorite. Chick fillet allowed me to replace the fries, no problem. Sad day.

This is my boyfriends favorite burger shop. Today he brought home Swensons and shared his California drink with me. As a germaphope and vegetarian I swapped his straw for a new one. In the process of swapping them back after I took a drink, I found a disgusting small fly on my straw. What is most repulsive is that I wouldnt have even seen the fly if I had not been swapping the straws. You truly never know what you get when you are served takeout.

The best burger in the world I grew up I Akron and every chance I got I would come to swensons even now when I visit. Swensons has some of the best food Ive ever tasted along with their burger they have some classic fries with some unique onion rings yet they are the best onion rings ever also there milk shakes are to die for and the staff here is great the location the time and even the price are unbeatable

Akron institution. Onion rings are some of the best Ive ever hard. The Galley Boy is their "Big Mac" - but so much better, not really a comparison except for having its own "special sauce". Try to make it here every time I visit Akron. 6 different locations in the Akron area, this location is most convenient to Montrose and all the various retail stores in that area.

Guys were running their butts off serving and taking orders. The hamburgers were awesome, fries were so,so, mushrooms and zucchini awesome need little more in those bags.. Price was great for all. Need to have more lighting in the parking lot even if its dimmer its better then none. Montrose good place.. Need one in Wooster.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Especially people out of ohio or from the northern parts that havent heard of it. Anything that Ive gotten from this place has been good quality and tastes great. Ive never gotten sick from Swensons, nor any one of my friends or family. People need to stop hatin.

Always great food and great service. Employees are always happy to be there and always hustling. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and reasonably quick. This past visit was slower than usual but that was likely due to the lunchtime rush. We make it a point to visit whenever we are in the area

I love this place! This is the only place that I enjoy cheeseburgers of any kind. If you are in the area it is defiently worth it to go here! Burgers are under $6 and everything is fresh. They make their own fries too! If you want real good food, drive up and get a cheeseburger!!!

I would love to give a higher rating because the food is always so good but, the person called me sir and Im a woman that sounds like a woman and the lady was short with me just sounded like she was doing me a favor. Ill choose Wallhaven from now on. Their staff is always so nice.
