To start with me and my wife are Cuban descents raised in Miami for many years and moved up to Winston Salem after retirement. The food is good and tasty but pricy nothing like Miami, to continue youre eating inside if a house it doesnt feel like a restaurant, very plain no caribean taste to it, with a very small parking area. The two ladies they have there dont have the spark to be waiters they look lost, for those that dont know the any restaurant or cafeteria you go in Miami the first thing they do when you are seated they bring a glass of water with ice the menu and all the Cuban bread you can eat, here no water unless you ask for it, they give you four micro pieces of bread and if you ask for more they tell is extra and its not even in the menu, the owner should know this cause hes Puerto Rican and lived in Miami before coming up. the food is good and tasty but very pricey for those that never had Latin food before, in my experience when I asked for the bill they over charged me by two dollars in one plate and three on the other, cause the waiters apparently are not familiar with the menu so check with price when you order, for me it will be the last time I will eat there again.

Being a Miami native and from a strong cuban up bringing, I can honestly say that this restaurant will hands down serve better quality food then most restaurants in Miami. The quality of food is phenomenal and exactly what Ive been looking for since I moved to NC. One thing Ive learned about restaurants in NC that claim to serve "Authentic" cuban food is that they are usually anything but authentic. I came here being very skeptical as my first impression of the exterior (google street view) was not the greatest. Though once the food started coming out, I felt right at home. Everything served was cooked properly and with fresh ingredients. Everything from the lechon to the ropa vieja, rice, beans, maduros, yuca, moros, tostones, and flan was just done to perfection. Y pa mis cubanos, hay tremenda jama aqui!-

Nice place to have lunch/dinner. Caribbean cuisine choices from the Major Antilles. Simple but organized menu. Waiter, young man, excellent manners. Waitress, young female, having a bad day? An ADA compliant elevator for wheel chair users is available inside but no front door ramp - its in back. Parking might be an issue for large groups. At least one seating area can accommodate a group of 18-20. Smaller rooms have nice table booths. A lot of hard work went into fixing the place - it shows. Enjoyed Mofongo. The side soup was super delicious! The plantain dish could have been a little warmer (temp wise) for my taste. Prices seemed reasonable. (Even the cook came out to explain the dish!) Take some Cuban sandwiches to go! At night they need to have a little more lighting front and back.

Our first visit (March 16) was fantastic; the food is amazing and the service was good enough. Our second visit (May 16) was quite the opposite. It took 20 minutes to get seated in a nearly empty restaurant. Our sangria was basically sweet syrup with orange peels. When we asked for something different, the waitress told us we would still have to pay for the sangria ($7 each, which we only sipped a half ounce of) anyways. Needless to say, we left. On our way out, the chef (/owner?) came out and yelled at us to pay for the disgusting drinks. Wont be back, which is too bad considering how good the food is.

First let me say that my first two experiences at this restaurant were great. The food was delicious and they offered a very unique menu. However the next two times that we tried to eat there, no hostesses were to be found and we had to track someone down to even get on waiting list. Once on the waiting list it took way longer than the estimated wait time so both times we left. Long story short they are under staffed and have no system in place for serving people. Its sad because they have an excellent menu and the food great. The potential is great they just need to staff more people.

Wonderful food and good service. Our waiter was working so hard and was very sweet. I had the shrimp plantain appetizer and it was incredible. The garlic shrimp entrée was just as good. Great place for a low key and delicious dinner. The mojitos were some of the best Ive had. The house is beautiful and well be going back soon! Highly recommend

The food is absolutely fantastic. Authentic cuban cuisine that is full of flavor. I thought NC BBQ was as good as it got until I tried this marinated pork! It is all scratch made to order so your meal will take 20-30 minutes. Get a drink and sit back.. great food is on the way!

Miamis Restaurant excels at producing delicious food. Nothing on the menu here has ever disappointed. The service is sometimes slow and sometimes okay, but the food more than makes up for the less than stellar days. This is great place to just lean back and go with the flow.

This is as authentic as it gets for me and I grew up in south florida. If your in a rush you may not want to come, but if you do the wait is worth it, food comes out piping hot every time! Everything is cooked to order, nothing is pre made. Excellent Excellent.

Food was Excellent!! Waiters and staff were awesome, owner came out to greet us and ask how was service. Place looks like a regular house from outside but complete restaurant with bar inside. Family owned small hole in the wall place. Definitely will return

Absolutely love this place. Enjoyed the delicious Cuban cuisine this little family brought to Winston at the Old Salisbury location and thrilled to see them open this location. Same hearty food, in a great new location and a full menu!

There should be a line out the door every single day, but most of Winston hasnt discovered this gem quite yet. Whether you get a Cuban sandwich, one of the bowls or just stop in for a mojito, you wont be disappointed!

Food is overpriced but good. The young hostess and young man working the register were great; wish I could say the same for my server...She needs a few classes in server etiquette
