The food was great, but the service ruined it. I work in the service industry in Manhattan so I can tell you, Theyre very disorganized and the seating arrangements are messy. The host was rude and pointed across the room at where we could sit instead of graciously walking us to a table like most places, the waitress seemed very confused the entire time we were almost worried to ask her questions, and at the end of the meal when we got our bill we had to tell her that she forgot to charge us for our meals. I just think they need some practice on service because thats the part that really stinks there.

Brownstones in Amityville has been my favorite place for breakfast and lunch, for the past 4-to-5 years, so I was real happy when they opened the West Islip location. Not only is the food very good, but the owners and the staff are great people. I went to the Amityville Brownstones just about every single day (for food or just coffee) up until the fire in August 2015 (theyre still rebuilding), and I plan to go to to the West Islip location as much as possible. I just love the place.

Excellent! Food is amazing and price is reasonable. Unique options - really nice menu. I went here on a Sunday afternoon at around 12. Had to wait about 20 minutes. Worth the wait! I went with my girlfriend and son - they both loved it. Very good customer service. We ordered Strawberry Shortcake Stuffed French Toast Two orders of pancakes and eggs Potatoes are really good! Good for kids, pleasant atmosphere, all around good.

It was a great atmosphere. Wasnt the best service Ive ever had but wasnt terrible. Brownstones is very modern and clean. Not to much of a selection for your money. Not a lot of seating space at all.. Which in turn means there is always a wait. I personally wouldnt wait an hour for such little of a selection of food.

Hard to get 5 stars out of me....I was really contemplating this one though.....this is our 3rd visit and our experiences only get better.....food is fantastic and fresh....service is friendly and helpful.....only issue and it has nothing to do with the staff or quality of service.....but parking always an issue.

A little pricey, and always ridiculously busy, but worth it. Pancakes are great, eggs are made perfectly and everything is flavorful. Drinks are pricy too, but again youre paying for the "whole"experience. Recommended (but allot yourself time to get seats, at least a half hour).

Great food. Great atmosphere. Superb service. Only downside is that they are unable to accommodate groups of 8+ due to the size of the establishment. Also no reservations can be made to hold space for large groups as well, which is understandable.

Kind of a long wait, but the food is delicious and our waitress Lynn was super nice it was our 1st time here but will definitely come back. Cant wait for Amityville location to open up and Lynn said shell be working there so thats a plus.

The food and the staff definitely made my hour wait worth it. It was my first time trying eggs benedict and I was not disappointed. Emily was a fantastic server and was very welcoming. Definitely not the last time that I will be here.

Not your typical diner. Thats good and bad. Everything is seasoned WELL. Dont reach for the salt or pepper until youve properly sampled your dish. Also, for you poached egg lovers... sorry. They dont prepare poached eggs!!!!

My twins and I walk to Brownstones once a week. They are very accomodating and always greeting us with a huge smile. The food menu is diverse and has something for everyones taste buds. Love this place and I highly recommend!

Very good food, but usually very crowded. There is almost always a wait. Glenns in Babylon has the same issue but they are better and have more variety on their menu; but yhen again, they are also a larger place.
