Some reviewers must be confusing Bonsai with another restaurant. Ive been to Bonsai many times because its the best sushi experience Ive had in the valley. Ill just give it to you straight up: sushi chefs are Japanese (which is rare and good), sushi and sashimi has always been well chosen and well prepared, the sushi appetizers are unique and worth trying -- the "Dynamite" appetizer is lightly tempura fried white tuna on top of seaweed salad, and theres a very interesting sauce that you should ask for on the side because they tend to put too much, Salmon Skin Salad appetizer is great -- its crispy shreds of salmon skin on top of seaweed salad. Ask for the salmon skin well done and extra crispy. Sauce on the side. The waitresses are sweet, attentive, and nice.But its true that they can get overwhelmed when its busy and things can be forgotten about. But the thing is that youre having such a nice time with the food and the surrounding that youll probably be understanding about small lapses in the service And my two top reasons for loving Bonsai... Happy Hour every day -- lmost everything on the menu is half price, and the sake is cheaper too. Very comfortable outdoor seating thats far from traffic noise and with a nice energy from a few passersby on their way to the yogurt place or starbucks.

Always a great place to eat, my fiance and I always come here and order a Plum wine and A Shirley Temple. We then pick our favorite appetizers all of which are phenomenal and fresh. Finish up with Udon or their new Thai menu with authentic Curry and our day is complete. The prices are very fair and this is a great place for a quick lunch. Highly recommended

My favorite sushi spot in Dutchess county! Everything is so fresh and delicious, and the presentation is always perfect and consistent. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and you know its good when its always packed, YET never have a long wait for food. Awesome spot for families or couples.

Woman on the phone argued with me that their "happy hour prices are until 4 oclock" meanwhile on their website it says 3-5:30 p.m. False advertising is not a good impression on a paying customer. Ill take my money elsewhere.

Great food!! Love the chicken tempura roll and the sunset Blvd roll. The staff is so nice although sometimes I cant understand them but this is my go to for sushi!!!!
