DO NOT EAT HERE!! was going to say at least yet but not after I just got home and looked the bill again. Before I gt to that. I rate restaurants on 3 things. Atmosphere, Food & Service. This place got its only star for atmosphere. Which was quite nice and hopefully whomever takes it over after the current management will be able to provide better service and a better product. The food though not bad was not worth the $$ spent. I had the lobster roll and @$24 there was maybe $3 worth of lobster and the rest was a lot of corn and vegies. The fries were good but again not worth $24. $15 maybe. My wife and her mother split the crab cakes which again were ok but just not worth the $24. Now the service. Wish there was a way to give negative stars. Walked in first to look at the menu and to bring back to the car so my wife and her mother could look at it. The woman who showed me the 3 menus was quite nice and informed me that if we sat at a table we could order off of these menus. I then took pics of them and showed them to my wife and mother in-law. They decided to go. We all go back in and ask for a table of 4. Was told the hostess would seat us. 3 girls at the hostess stand and 2 just stood there and said they couldnt seat us because they were not "the seater" while "The Seater" was answering other questions, and not seating. There was a mix up at the table as to whom our server was. Drinks took 10-15 minutes to get after having to order them twice with 2 different servers. had to ask 4 other people for help during the meal and had to ask multiple times for the same thing. Service was atrocious. As if they took a bunch of people with no experience and through them on the floor and said hers a tablet go on see what you can do because we arent training you. Now the topper. Get home and my wife realizes that there is an extra $21 fee added to the check. Remember this is a a table of four and nothing was said about the tip included. In fact when we asked for the check it was on the tablet and there were 3 tip options 15, 20 & 25% I had told her to leave 10% because the service was REALLY bad. Could go on but this is taking longer to type than it did to order drinks

Kitchen 21 is a combination of everything thats great about Coney Island all in one location. It was carved out of the long-derelict Childs Restaurant off the Boardwalk that once had its heyday during Coney Islands Golden Age. Over the past few years, the building was lovingly restored back to its original splendor including original nautical-themed plates that adorn the facade. Humongous semi-circular windows that punctuate the walls of the building give diners great views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Parachute Jump, and MCU Stadium. The restaurant is actually composed of three distinct sections: a rooftop bar, a ground-floor cafe where you can order from a to-go menu, and a more formal restaurant. Diners have a choice of sitting at a high table or a low table. The place plays homage to old Coney Island with various amusement park items such as a bumper car and High Striker strongman game. There is also a reproduction of one of the original Parachute Jump chairs. Up to three people can sit on the chair and make it bounce up and down. We sat down and ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. The calamari, which was drizzled with some sort of brown sauce was one of the most delicious Ive ever tasted. For the main course, my son and I ordered a Mediterranean Chicken sandwich. Everything about this sandwich was fresh and delicious including the glazed bun that held the sandwich together. The only drawback was the slippery layer of olive tapenade that made the sandwich fall apart, but that was a price I didnt mind paying for such a delectable sandwich. Complementing the sandwich was a decent portion of freshly-cut onion-flavored french fries. My meal was topped off with a TALL glass of Mermaid Beer that was "imported" from the Coney Island Brewery two blocks away. By the time our waiter asked if we wanted a dessert menu, I was too stuffed to say yes. Overall, the prices were reasonable and the quality and healthy-sized portions of each dish were well worth our visit.

Let me start by saying that our server at the bar was amazing and she went out of her way to help us and was truly great. This restaurant has four different menus which are all similar and have a lot of overlap but what menu you can order from depends on where you sit and its not like the sections are divided and partitioned clearly. One table could be the "community clam bar" and the table literally next to it is the "test kitchen." The food took forever to come out and was so so and way over priced. There was something for everyone in my party but not in the same section which was so dumb since it was all coming from one kitchen especially since there was similar but slightly different items on each menu. Also the hosts dont explain this despite this place just opened. Just grab a drink at the bar and spare yourself the confusion

I went here last Sunday afternoon. I read the reviews prior to going there and noticed many people complained of the customer service. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, I immediately saw what everyone was saying. We were sitting down for about 25 minutes before a waiter came to even acknowledge us [& I had complained to manager and the hostess walking by in-between]. There were so many employees walking around, cleaning tables - yet almost a half hour and no one could take our order. After our order was placed, the service continued to go downhill. Items were forgotten, things took extremely long, had to ask multiple times for the same thing. The food was great, which is why they are even getting a 2 star review, but the service SUCKED. They are so disorganized. They need new management & training. PLUS it wasnt even that busy.

I went there Thursday for the first time. The menu on the window grabbed my attention walking by outside. So, I decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered the lobster nachos and the Margherita pizza. It took 45 mins to get the food! The place was not even packed or busy. During the waiting time, I had several staff members come to the table and ask if my order had been placed. Which of course it had been. The pizza was lacking flavor and I asked for hot sause to give it some taste. After my food came, my waitress knew that there was an issue with the wait. I didnt even have to mentoon it. She offered free complimentary dessert, which took another 20 mins to arrive. I will say that my server was very friendly and helpful. All in all, I dont recommend this place.

Spectacular job renovating, Rooftop Lounge very nice view, Food, I had the Pork chop, outstanding! Compliments to the Chef Joe who we met. Staff, very sincere however very inexperienced. Did not like the payment venue, had to pay on a Tablet, in full view of the waitress, 18% is automatically included in the bill, then comes the tablet with tipping options for you to choose, I found it awkward, a little confusing and after the smoke cleared I probably wound up tipping 36% However we did enjoy ourselves, it is a tremendous undertaking, as you will see. I overheard it can seat 700 patrons! Not an easy task in anyones book. I wish them the best of luck and please take off the rough edges and we will be back
