Such a wonderful concept and great food. That latter might be the aspect youd least expect and I know Jon makes it very clear this is NOT a soup kitchen. The food is prepared by a gourmet chef and it is great!! Some of the best I have ever had and this is not an exaggeration. The food on the menu has no prices they kindly ask a 20 dollar donation to cover the costs of appetizer, main course and desert if your a cash paying customer. Now where can you get a quality nutritious meal like that under twenty dollars? Realistically it is definitely worth much closer to 30 dollars, youll will have no problem donating for another meal for someone who might not have it so good. If you cannot pay you can do one hour of volunteer work as a form of payment for a meal but the volunteers are all wearing the same JBJ soul kitchen shirts so as a consumer you wouldnt know if someone is volunteering to volunteer or because times are tough so that stigma so to speak is gone (great idea). I also want to say something about the volunteers because they are of the warmest most genuine friendliest people you will ever meet. That said I highly recommend the JBJ soul kitchen. Truly a hand up not a hand out, how could you not love it.

Awesome and Outstanding . I volunteered for the first time tonight and it was very rewarding giving back to such a wonderful cause. The Staff( all volunteers) Except the excellent chefs and Ann the manager who is just great. Do not be mistaken to think this is a soup Kitchen FAR from it . tabel cloths linen napkins and fresh flowers and candles on every table It is all about bringing people together ,helping those in needed and allowing those who wish to help can do so just by having a wonderful meal and paying for it which 1/2 goes towards the meal and 1/2 to support the cause The for food was great I had Apple soup wow what a pleasant surprise. My entree was Salmon with a cranberry glaze which was outstanding Generous portion and cooked to perfection moist yet firm PERFECT. .( there were 4 entree selections on menu to choose from) . Topping it off with Pumpkin spice cake topped with a lovely whipped topping . My advice is to try it at least once you will be in for a treat ,and also giving back to those in need . Thanks to Ann all of the friendly volunteers ,and especially the chefs and kitchen staff. KEEP UP THE wonderful work Ill be back Steve Smith

greeted with a warm welcome, pleasant and clean atmosphere. Table had information about the JBJ Soul Foundation which was great to learn. Servers were professional AND volunteers. Dressed clean and neat. Menu were reviewed. Given lots of time to look over. Not many choices but all were excellent. Gluten and dairy free and vegan were available. Soup I selected was excellent. Entree pasta with grilled veg and spices also great and LARGE portions. Desert small but delicious. Tea selections nice. Iced tea or water were only bev selections. Would have liked sparkling water w lemon. Prices were $20 pp which considering the excellent gourmet meals, was actually cheap. Will go again

Great place to help others. A $20 donation will feed your self and help a family who cant afford to feed themselves. If you cant afford to eat you can help for 30 minutes in exchange for a meal.

Food is consistently impressive. Be prepared to make a $20 cash donation for the meal, which consists of a soup or salad, main course, and dessert.
