I have been here many times before and have had great meals. However, I just visited the restaurant two nights ago and ordered the Fire & Oak burger. I ordered it medium-well and it came out very well done and dry. It was so disappointing and when I told the waiter he should let the kitchen staff know that it was overcooked and that they should be checking their temperatures, he said he would. There was no offer of having a new one brought out and the manager did not even stop by the table to check to see if everything was ok. I am assuming the manager was not aware of the issue, because that would at least make me feel a little better but it was a really big let down in customer service. In addition, the restaurant was really noisy that night in the front section. Ordinarily when I visit the restaurant I sit in the back section and it is a little quieter. I will definitely have to think twice about visiting the restaurant again.

I wish I had read the reviews before we went here on Saturday night. If you are expecting to have a conversation with your friends - FORGET IT ! The waitress had to stoop over each end of our table for 4 and repeat herself because she couldnt yell loud enough to be heard over the din. Its like eating in a High School Cafeteria! The food was sub-par and really overpriced! $13 a glass for cheap Chard wine! $14 for a Calamari app. that was rubbery and barely warm. Two of us ordered the regular Sat special from the menu - no price listed - turned out to be $44 each ! Braised Short Rib, off the bone with a half of stuffed lobster. Rib was dry and only mildly flavorful the half lobster had nothing in the tail but the stuffing which was poorly spiced. Worst restaurant experience I have had in many years. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere but here unless you just want to just sit at the overcrowded bar and yell at your dinner partner!

Stayed at Marriott which "houses" Fire & Oak Restaurant but doesnt necessarily recommend it since, when asked, the Marriott staff at the desk were quick to say that Fire & Oak was a separate entity. That should have been the tip-off !! After a long trip from out-of-state and for convenience I invited my family to join me for dinner at the Fire & Oak. Everything seemed acceptable at first, however, two out of three adults who had the tuna, sushi and fried oysters were "deathly" ill throughout that night!! The management and owner were totally unsympathetic when notified the next day. The Montvale health and restaurant inspection department was appropriately informed. Good for music and drinks & social environment but TOO LOUD for conversation. For dinner? NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!

I had a wonderful experience the other day when I came to Fire and Oak for lunch. I sat at the bar to get a quick bite to eat. The bartender was very friendly and extremely helpful with guiding me in the right direction with what to order. I had Blue Point oysters to start. They were very fresh and yummy. For my main course I had the seafood cobb salad. I was indecisive about which dressing to have so the bartender was kind enough to bring two, a blue cheese dressing and a balsamic one. The portion for this salad was enormous. I ended my experience with a coffee and a chocolate cake. I had a lovely time and delicious lunch. What went from a quick lunch turned into a 3 course meal! Delish :) Thanks Diego and Jessica, will be back soon!

The Good: Decent craft beer selection, decent food quality The Bad: Completely packed everynight due to its close proximity to the Marriot and the lack of good restraunts in the area. Food is overpriced. The menu is unimaginative and plain. If you ate here more than 3-4 times you will have had almost every flavor they know how to do. Room is small and narrow and dining area is open to the bar, so the noise makes it impossible to have a dinner conversation. Its almost club-level noise in there....and this is every night. If you want good restraunts and pubs, drive a few more miles east and go to the Piermont area.

Drinks were good, service was so so , as for the Sea Food risotto if I wanted white rice with broth, scallops and a few pieces of calamari with no shrimp I could of had Chinese take out for a quarter of the price, the waitress asked how it was, we expressed our disappointment, who then went and told the manager and he manager did not even have the balls to stop by the table or try and correct the problem, nice atmosphere, eat before you go there and enjoy the cocktails.... will never see me again.

I had my ETD Discount Tire Christmas Dinner here. I can only tell you that it was the best service and food Ive had in a very long time. My party which consisted of 20 all felt the same way. I would like to thank Josh the manager and his staff for a wonderful evening. Extra credit goes out to our main server Joe Heilig. This young man gave outstanding service and deserves credit for making it a terrific night. Thanks Joe. Im looking forward to have other events here. GREAT JOB.

Dont let location - attached to Courtyard Marriot scare you off. Really nice decor and great menu. Had the blackened swordfish - AWESOME. Their menu has everything from a $12 burger to a $30 Filet....great wine list, knoweledge waitresses. Mix of local office crowd, dates, and some "girls night out" straight out of housewives of nj" - I swear....I guess those women really do exist!

During the winter, I was staying at the attached Courtyard and came here for a lunch meeting with a client due to bad weather outside. The lunch menu was great, atmosphere was very nice and Im looking forward to visiting for dinner. I had a burger so nothing crazy special but it was very good all the same.

Best cheesecake I ever had was theirs. A little pricey, but totally worth it. Located at the Marriot in Montvale, there is hip restaurant with a delicious menu. Been there 3 times and everytime has been good. Fast service despite always looking busy and attentive staff.

Dropped in for Lunch and had grown up grilled cheese and tomato soup. The grilled cheese was heaven, with 3 different kinds all melted together. The soup was so creamy and dreamy it was more like a bisque. Both very delicious and just right on a cold day.

I had my daughters college graduation party here and have to say the servers and management were very accommodating. Party was handled very professionally and food was delicious. Would have another party here without a doubt. Thank you Fire & Oak!

Went there with my wife. I enjoyed my filet, but my wife wasnt crazy about her meal. That said, the staff recognized that something was wrong and offered my wife a different meal on the house. The place has a nice atmosphere
