We are NYC transplants. Our loft was steps from Nobu. We were pretty much resigned to never eating good Asian food again until trips back to NYC or abroad. Imagine our stunned shock at stumbling upon this little gem in the midst of horse country. And judging by the early crowds last Saturday night, the secret is out! The service is impeccable; the host-owner will make you feel like you just stepped off a plane in Asia to family. Have some sake, spicy edamame and absorb the lovely decor. The signature sushi is so creative and delicious that it is a must try. I literally moan in delight. I cant say that I enjoyed Nobu that much. If your leanings are more Chinese, do not ignore the Kitchen dishes. My brother (loved American-style Chinese) is now a convert. The dishes are fresh, healthy and authentic. I have not had a single disappointing dish over maybe 20 visits. Please try it so we retain a good quality restaurant out here!

My wife wrote the wrong amount on our copy of the receipt so I thought we were overcharged. I also panicked and thought Red Lantern had shut down, because when I googled it I got a listing for Red Lantern at another location in Long Valley and it said it was permanently closed and I called the number and got a disconnect. I was trying to call them first before posting a review to see if it was an accident or mistake. So I thought we were scammed and wrote a negative review, and I am correcting it here. I didnt eat there that day so I cant testify as to the food, but the management worked hard to correct the situation and I give them credit for that.

This place is Asian? I though Jimmy was Irish. Ha! Awesome food, service, staff and atmosphere. You couldnt get any better if you caught and prepared the sushi yourself. The creations Jimmy ans his team come up with are incredible. Highly recommended.

This restaurant was excellent. The roti Malaysian crepes are a must have! The sushi tasted great and the fish fell apart in your mouth, especially the yellowtail. I am definitely coming back here!

They do a great job. Love the staff and the food has always been great. You can get anything from sushi to Pad Thai. The edamame are always a great way to start off your meal here. So good.

Best sushi weve had in quite a while. The freshness of the fish is superb and the sushi is expertly put together. Add excellent service and a nice, relaxing decor to the list. Full marks.

Local for us. Love the food and decor. A touch pricey but worth it. Service is always good but not stellar. Sushi is well above average. Only con, parking can be a hassle.
