My family was looking for a decent steakhouse in the neighborhood where we recently bought a condo and we had a gift card to this restaurant so we gave it a try. Strakhouses are my favorite type of restaurants and since I travle often for business, I seek out good spots where ever I go. Ive been to steakhouses throughout the US: west coast, TX, east coast, michelin star rated and tiny family owned establishments.. So, I have something to compare this steakhouse to. Food was good, my porterhouse was cooked to my liking, lobster bisque soup was okay. If i was only ranking food, I would give 3 stars, but service was beyond terrible. We ordedered food and got appetizers fairly quickly, right anout the time family at the table next to us placed an order. But then, it took nearly an hour to get our main corses. During the wait that other family that ordered at the time we received our appetizers got their entrees and we got our entrees almost as that family finished their dinner... I was at a dinner w/ my 2-year old and she can sit fine through 1.5 hour dinner, but since this particular dinner took over two hours she lost all her patience. Obviously that added to the level of frustration and I didnt want to finish my food anymore, but decided to take home. So, from the moment I asked for "to go" boxes and a check and the moment I got my credit card back 45 minutes passed... I couldve maybe understand if this place was overly busy and all the tables were taken, but there wrre a number of empty tables, so, I really dont understand how service cam be so bad! Last time I had service this bad was at Mastros Ocean Club at Newport Coast, CA, but waiter realized that they screwed up and apetizers were complimentary. No such thing here, not even an apology from the manager. After this experience, we need to find another spot in the area or maybe only do take out orders at this spot since food was good for a local steakhouse.

My wife and I and our 10-year old son had a wonderful experience in Sear (then still named Bellissimo’s, although under the new management) in January of 2015. Everything was great: the food, the wine, the deserts, the service from the staff and especially from the highly accessible, cultivated, and always-gracious manager, Leo. So, when it came time for my wife’s birthday four days ago, I proposed a trip to Sear to my family, and they leapt at it (even though the trip was 40 minutes away and we live in Piermont, NY, home to Xavier’s and numerous other first class restaurants, and only 10 minutes away from Dimora in Norwood, and Sear in Closter). Again, everything was PERFECT. My wife and I had an order of Escargot (a special that day) and an order of Oysters on the Half Shell (East Coast). Then we shared one of the greatest steamed lobsters we have ever experienced in our lives. For wine, I had the Pinot Noir from the Jargon Vineyard in Napa Valley, CA, and my wife had a New Zealand Cabernet Sauvignon. Both were very satisfying complements to our meals. Our son had the Prime NY Sirloin. This presented the first problem of the evening. We are big sharers in our family, and my wife and I were regularly raiding our son’s steak and he was counter-attacking by scooping up large parts of our lobster, leading to two pointed-but-happy quarrels. Everything was great, really: we were having a wonderful time. I am not a desert person, but my wife is and ordered the Creme Brulee and our son ordered the Chocolate Mousse. Both were excellent (of course, I was forced to try them both, despite my so-called “diet”). We will be back!

Came here with a friend for dinner basically because we were nearby. He had Caesar salad and I had the arugula salad for appetizer. The arugula salad was amazing. The lemon & olive oil dressing was light but flavorful. The goat cheese provided just the perfect tang. The Caesars dressing had anchovies in it which meant I didnt like it but my buddy enjoyed it. For entrees, he got the NY strip and I got the parpadelle with creamy mushroom sauce special. The steak was fantastic. Definitely on par with what youd expect from a steakhouse in NYC. The pasta was very tasty and rich. Decor-wise, it has a nice entrance into the sleek bar area along with outdoor seating that wraps around the front. Not really much of a view. But it felt upscale. The service was attentive and prompt. The waiter was personable, especially if you like being called "buddy". Overall, a unexpectedly good dinner experience. Prices were on par with what youd expect for a fancy steakhouse. One negative thing is the valet parking despite an abundance of spaces in their spacious lot.

Nice ambience, cozy place, nice selection of food. The reason this place only gets 3 star is because they cooked my steak wrong, and my friends steak was half-sized. Mine, ordered a medium-rare, but came out nearly well-done. I didnt complain because it was still edible, thanks to tender meat. My friends 24oz T-bone Porterhouse was missing a good chunk, making it look half the size of what I and other friends had. To make the matters worse, the waiter wasnt very friendly while serving my rather large party, replying with some of the most random answers to our requests (and it wasnt because he was trying to be funny). As mentored above, when my friend requested his steak re-served, the waiter said something to the effect, "If you dont take what I gave you, youll have to wait longer." WTF? Id try Sear again in a smaller group but the first experience (which is very important to many) wasnt the best.

Im a business owner in the local area and wanted to take my staff to a nice company dinner. I made reservations for 8:00and due to the snow asked to move our reservation back to 8:30 without any hesitation they accommodated us ensured it was more than ok. When we arrived we were greeted by almost the entire staff with welcome arms. Throughout the night the staff went above and beyond to make an amazing night for us. Our waiter was professional, knowledgable and extremely precise with every dish and course. We were greeted by the owner more then three times to check and make sure our dishes were what we ordered and that we were satisfied. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and we could not have asked for a better meal or experience. I recommend Sear House Grill to anyone who wants an amazing meal and an incomparable experience. You will NOT be disappointed!

Was there for a private party. Service was sloppy and disappointing, took a long time for food to come out. There seemed to not be a person in charge of our room, whereas a room across from us (glass wall so I could see what was going on) had a waiter who was on top of everything. Food continually coming out, checking on tables, taking drink orders, etc. We had none of that. As for the food, most was very good, but my Filet Mignon was cooked properly (medium rare), but the meat was tough. Ive had Filet Mignon many many times, so I know what the texture is supposed to feel like. Should have gone for the NY Strip, as I tried my wifes and it was excellent. It wasnt my party, but if it was, I would have been pissed by the poor service. Ive been there before - they are better than this. So I will still give them 3 stars in hopes it was just a bad night.
