Was there 3 times in the last month and was planning to go back many times. First time was great, Raw Oysters and steamer were great! Fried clams were bad, small and hard so opted to the lobster and crab bisque and was fantastic!. 2nd time waited 55 minutes for table which is no problem... But the first thing from the waitress was "we are out of steamers and oysters... So we left and when to the place next to it. No big deal but on my 3rd time.... Got a table right away with a reservation. Brought my wife who flew up from Florida for a week also took my son. The hostess remembered me both times and because of the the no oyster and steamer event said " I will give you 20% percent off the bill...While the oysters were great. The steamers were over cooked and half the shells were broken and the portion was small. The 1.5 pound lobsters were over cooked and chewed like bubble gum. Spent 204.00 dollars (before tip)and when our server anthony (who was great) over heard my complaints (and I never asked for any money back) to the hostess.... he slammed shut the final bill folder in my wifes ear. So in the end we got 8 dollars off the final bill not 20%. I know this is a great place to eat but being lied too and treated like that I will never go back.

Every year I take my mom and dad here for a combo Mothers and Fathers day lunch. The food is good and it is so nice to sit out on the deck by the water. This year was a mess, there were 4 of us. We were sat at a square table more for two people or 4 people having just drinks. That is not the food servers fault. We order two appetizers, while eating them the lunches came out. There was no room on the table for the food. The food runner and server both apologized. I am a 20% plus tipper. I would never stiff a food server, even if the serve was horrible I would still make sure they covered their tax which is 10% of their food bill. The food server was very nice, made good suggestions, which made up for the small table and the miss-timed food. I left a 20% tip. Now what really upset me, I paid with a credit card but tip in cash. I don’t like leaving cash on the table. We got up and were walking away. I was looking for the food serve when I noticed another food server walked over to the table opened the check book to see what was left as a tip. I was so angry, how dare anyone but the person I tip look at what I left. That put a really bad taste in my mouth and I will stop myself before I suggest going back any time soon.

We ate here on 6/23. Got there around d 630pm. No wait. Not sure if thats how it always is, or because of the threat of rain. We were seated outside next to the bar. Parking in the area is limited. I suggest valet. Our server was pleasant and helpful. She even said that if it started to rain that she had a table for use inside. That said we seemed to be waiting longer for her to come back to check on us compared to the patrons that had other servers. Nice views of the bay side of Sandy Hook. We started with a dozen clams on the half shell. 12 for 13$ very fresh and tasty. Also had panko crab dip. Served with nice lightly toasted Italian bread. Also very good. For dinner the lady had the lobster roll served with French fries. 21$ A nice size portion of lobster meat. She said it was very good . I had the seafood over linguine.32$ Scallops shrimp and lobster meat. Shrimp and scallops were good and cooked well. The lobster was a little over cooked . Over all a decent amount and good flavor. Total with 2 alcoholic drinks and the food above was 115$ less tip. Atmosphere was very nice, a little on the high side for price, but it usually is for seafood with a view. I would go again.

They deserve ZERO stars but 1 is as low as it goes. We got still frozen clams served as clams casino, INEXCUSABLE (2 orders). Waiter was a clown and he didnt understand what he was telling people - all this while he had a superiority complex. Tables are too close to each other to be enjoyable, I understand that it will be a tight due to being a small place but when your back is inches from the corner of the next table then it is time to rethink the layout because it will cause people to not be repeat customers. The real funny thing is that the young lady busing tables was the best person we encountered, she was helpful, friendly and polite....she should have been waiting on people instead of the guy we had. In the parking lot try not to breathe, youll smell the reeking stench smell of the dumpster which is next to the kitchen, I really dont know how they dont see this as a problem and wont deodorize/dump soap and pressure wash them. I had been a customer for an extremely long time and have had a few very poor experiences here and will not be going back, they lost some customers from this bad dining.

This is todays experience, and my first time at this place. Food, at least my $20 Inlander Salad, was very poor in taste. It felt like they simply microwaved the (little) seafood in the bag and added it to something they called salad. I needed to ask for more dressing. Salad was wilted. No taste, no skill, most likely no chef behind. Very disappointing. The fried oysters were ey ok. Fried dark--can tell it was fried in old, burned oil. They should have been golden. My daughters lobster rolls (ca$17?) a handful of fries (the kind you buy frozen in a bag at the supermarket), a half of a bun (the kind of cheap bread you can make playdogh out of.) Sloppy, non-remarkable chopped lobster mixed with mayo. Very disappointing. Very unprofessional approach, and pretty insulting for someone with just an average taste in food. The pickle was good. The view is ok, by the water, it is the river, mind you, it is not an ocean view. So...

My boyfriend and I sat at the outdoor bar for a couple of drinks on Monday after spending a long day out and about for my birthday. The bartender was super friendly and the view was awesome. We werent planning to eat anything because we had dinner plans later on. However, we gave in and got the inlet clams. Ever since my boyfriend and I took a trip to Lake Placid 2 years ago and had the most amazing little neck clams ever, weve been trying to find something that compares, but nothing ever comes close... Until we came to Inlet Cafe. The inlet clams were delicious, the broth was garlicy and buttery. The bartender was even nice enough to bring us more bread so that we could dip it in the rest of the broth. Absolutely delicious. I want to go back and get 5 orders of those clams.... Or perhaps the recipe! :)

This is the second time weve eaten there and both times the food was excellent. The hamburger was properly cooked and a generous size size and quite tasty. The fries that came with it where also very good and came out hot as they should. The clams where fresh and good but a bit on the small side. A clam witch sandwich was good but the rolls that both sandwiches came on could have been better being a bit light weight in flavor. The service was very good with Jonathan being attentive but not intrusive. The view is quite good from the deck but they could stand to replace the shade sail as it had holes in it. But overall quite worth the trip with the prices being quite reasonable for the fare.
