Ever since Pete (the owner of the building) took over from Anthony (owner of the Clean Plate), I have seen the quality steadily decline. The new staff are...interesting. Call me a curmudgeon, but I like my coffee shops quiet, and my barristas friendly but not overly talkative. Every time Ive come in, Im either getting glowered out by the washed-up hippie looking one, or having to suffer through the preppy ones and the housewifes endless stream of inanity. The housewife is literally talking to herself right now. Earlier she was chit-chatting on her phone behind the counter. Also, what happened to the music? Theres only been background music a handful of times Ive come in. Theres nothing worse than walking into an empty, silent store. It feels dead in here. Dont get me wrong, I still enjoy the coffee and the cozy atmosphere. But Ive been coming here for years and it used to be so much nicer! "There can be no deep disappointment where there is not deep love."

This cafe is easily the best in Hunterdon County. Ive been coming here for years and the environment, atmosphere, coffee, and staff are warm and welcoming. It has a home-y feel with the two fireplaces on during the colder months, and outside seating by the river during the warmer months. When its quiet, its a great place to get work done. When its busy, you can catch a great conversation with local Clintonites. All the drinks are organic and they have a wide variety selection of teas! The baristas are the best! They are friendly and each one brings something different to the shop (most of them are college students.) While some may view the friendliness as overwhelming, myself along with the majority of the customers love chatting and getting to know them. Overall, its definitely the best coffee place in the town of Clinton! A must try for people driving through, or for the locals.

Its sort of gone downhill since the new owners took over recently, I hate to say. One morning I came in and they were doing maintenance on the espresso machine (understandable) but insisted that they could still make drinks that used steamed milk. I order a mocha after one of the owners said they had brought in a portable steamer. A moment later I turned and noticed she was actually microwaving my milk. Nothing close to being steamed, drink was not even lukewarm. Iced drinks have so much ice now so they can try to save money by dispensing less. This used to be my go to coffee spot every morning before work but bkw I am hesitant to go there

One day I went to buy 2 bottles of water for the kids I am taking care of. Unfortunately, I didnt carry enough cash and I didnt have my card with me. Luckily, the owners were really nice and so generous, they gave away us almost a cost of one bottle of water. This is a real professional-friendly costumer service!!!! From that day, I keep coming back to this coffee shop and I have never gotten any bad experience. Drinks are wonderful. The service is cozy but yet professional. Love love love this coffee shop!

I love this place for its relaxed atmosphere, waterside seating, and wide tea selection. I particularly love their matcha and earl grey lattes! Unfortunately the last three times Ive visited they have tasted like hot milk, no tea flavoring at all. Dissapointing for an otherwise fantastic place.

Love this place! Drive about half hour to get here, usually our Sunday morning treat. Opens early! Love sitiing riverside in warmer weather. Very quaint. Equally happy in the winter with a fireplace in each room. People relaxing, others working. Good mix of locals and visitors. Love it!

Loved their Coffee Mocha, it was a perfect blend of just the right tastes. The batista was really nice, she and the owner (? Or manager?) Took the time to answer any questions that we had.

Nice view of the creek. Relaxing to sit with cup of coffee and enjoy the view. Excellent coffee. Pastries were ok, not great. Scenary outdoors is fantastic.
