Wow, I LOVE this place. It doesnt look like much from the outside, but dont let that fool you. I found that this place is like a little well kept secret. I am a chocolate lover, and for years Ive been saying "WHY cant people male chocolate cake with cocolate icing and chocolate shavings or sprinkles?" to which most people make a face and say "Thats too much CHOCOLATE"...um but I suppose theres no such thing as too much Vanilla, right? Anyhow, I walk in, and this place has EVERYTHING...more importantly, they have chocolate chocolate chocolate cakes and cupcakes and other desserts. Theres plent Vanilla and yellow cake, and fruit desserts to please the non-chocolate enthusiasts...but I have finally found a bakery that I can call HOME!!! They also make an AWESOME Canoli Cake (Cassada Cake)...which is yellow cake with canoli filling between the layers and buttercream frosting, YUM! Very clean, the staff are very nice, and they do custom orders...what more could I ask for! AND, theyre very inexpensive...my friends and I went in there and picked out every pastry that caught our eye, expecting to pig out that night...we were prepared for a $20+ bill...and it only came out to under $10 !!! You cant get that ANYWHERE these days! Thats even cheaper than Kroger, but BOY did it all taste good, and you cant get cupcakes this big, or this delicious in any grocery store. And no, they didnt ask me for the review...Im just genuinely in love with this bakery!

I first used Bartz in 1990 for my wedding cake. Later ordered from them when I said thank you to the full time teaching staff at the end of the year. I stop in the morning for coffee and a sweet roll now. The variety of baked goods is great, staff and customers are most kind. Any issues have been promptly handled. The staff seems to function more as a team over the years. Also, a better understanding of the needs of the customers from a standpoint of product ingredients has made ordering baked goods much easier.

Hate to leave such a bad review, but my company purchased pies from this bakery for two different occasions. The first time, we thought we got a bad batch since the place had great reviews, so we tried again, second time was just as disappointing. Very stale, not fresh, and tasted like the pies were from a box. Not impressed at all. Would not waste my money here.

One of the best bakeries in Dearborn. Normally I make all the cakes for family birthdays but I was in a jam and needed one last minute so I stopped by Bartz. Their selection for pre-made cakes is limited BUT I picked up a NICE decorative chocolate double layer on a Sunday w/o calling ahead. Everyone loved it!! Needless to say my family and I will be back!!
