Not a great area after dark. Didnt go in bec on my way, 6pm, dark, I had an entitled black person point to the yellow crosswalk sign while she was 3-4 feet before stepping onto the crosswalk...she was implying that I should have stopped before she even decided to cross. *I stop for cross walkers...she wasnt even at the edge of the curb yet!! Then, looking in rear view mirror to get the DAMN HONKY look, I had to slam the brakes because another two black women decided they would cross wherever they damn please (overly dark area!) and take their sauntering walk time. This feels like a ghetto area. Its dark. The "inhabitants" are mindless morons. No sign for the place. I think I drove by it but fcuk it...good riddens! Gentrification is nice but its still got the ghetto vibe. I dont need that bullshit. Brewed awakenings was MUCH better.

This place is frustrating. The space is amazing. So well designed and laid out and just HUGE. They could probably seat 50, so you can always find a good seat, either at a table or on one of many sofas (the space is spread across three large rooms on the 4th floor of Mill #5). The food is tasty, the scones especially good. So whats the problem, then? Why only 3 stars? Two words: the coffee. They exclusively use Barismo beans, which Ive had elsewhere (Dwell Time in Cambridge, for instance), and which have been good elsewhere. The plain black coffee here is pretty good, but the espresso is consistently harsh and dull. Even the cold brew, which is easy to get right, requires sugar and milk to mask the inherent flavor. So, if youre hoping for delicious third-wave espresso, have a cup of coffee instead, and enjoy the sun-filled space.

The actual store has a very cool design that fits very will in Mill No. 5. Great atmosphere with lots of tables and little cubbies that create more intimate spaces. I didnt actually get a drink here. I bought 12 ounces of the Santa Ana Lot 724 beans. The packaging is good and very easy to read. They have information about the coffee on the front that included tasting notes and the day the beans were roasted. This particular coffee was the "cheapest" at $17. I like it, but perhaps Im not using the beans to their full potential. Ive been making americanos in an Aeropress. It gets very acidic towards the end of the cup.

This place is one of the best cafes Ive ever been to. The lighting is beautiful and the space is expansive with different rooms to chill in, including a lovely library area and a fireplace. I came on a Monday and it was quiet and perfect to do work in (way better than another Lowell coffee shop I recently visited--way too loud and distracting of an environment). Coffee was great too. Overall fantastic experience, what a gem, cant wait to return. Thank you!

Coffee and Cotton is Lowells best kept secret. Located inside Mill 5 these people really know how to make coffee! Excellent atmosphere. Great prices. Great coffee. Friendly staff. Its a win all around. Look for the number 5 on Jackson St. Then follow the Marquee arrow to the elevator at the end of the Alleyway. Ride it floor 4 and Coffee and Cotton is halfway down the hall on the right

Fantastic rustic atmosphere in an old renovated mill with lots of other interesting shops of all types to stroll. Great find in the Lowell area. Very unique and much appreciated in these times of generic corporate coffee shops. Only recommendation to them is to increase the signage and directions to get into their location as its somewhat confusing.

Love this place, such good atmosphere and a real hidden gem. I always feel like Im going to speak easy or something when I go into Mill No 5. Also, their products are to die for. Super great coffee, kombucha on tap, lovely sandwiches. And...they have maple syrup in a bottle at the condiment bar. The best thing ever.

Lovely cafe and tasty sandwich/cake/coffee! Relaxed vibe, great ambience. Beautiful big brick building with other interesting, independent shops on level 4 of the main building which has a huge sign "5" outside the front. Regeneration area. Well worth a visit.

When you enter the tunnel, use the elevator in the very back left corner and go up to the 4th floor. This is definitely not your run-of-the-mill coffee shop. The coffee is superb as well. It took me a while to find it but it was worth it!

First off the espresso is delicious and strong, coffee is locally brewed and everything seems higher than average quality. The space is great too and I love how it feels like a well kept secret. Will definitely come back!

I love Mill No. 5 -- fantastic old loft/cotton mill ambiance. If I ever work out of the office, I go to Coffee and Cotton. Though Im not a huge coffee buff, so dont ask me about their coffee quality.

Cozy, quiet atmosphere (at least at 7:30am), great place for coffee and a bagel. The French toast bagel with pumpkin cream cheese was perfect. Reasonably priced. I would definitely go back.
