I had never tried West African food before, but my girlfriend spent time in Senegal with the Peace Corps, and she had been here before and begged me to come. The food is excellent and priced very affordably, so if youre looking for a unique experience that you cant often find on the streets of any town or even any major city, I definitely suggest checking this spot out. I had a dish called yassa that consists of grilled pieces of chicken along with rice and a delicious onion and spice paste to mix in with it. It was amazing and my girlfriend said that it was quite authentic to the type of yassa shed had when she was overseas. Im looking forward to coming back and experiencing many of the other menu items.

My wife and I were craving some Thiebou Dien, so we decided to try this place, since options for authentic West African cuisine are limited around the Washington DC area. We certainly werent disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was great. I didnt try other items listed on the menu, but I highly recommend this spot. I live in Alexandria, so coming here took about 30minutes, which was a bit inconvenient, but I also knew about the distance factor, do i already accounted for it. I give this place 5 stars. I think the last time I ate something this good was back home in Mauritania, but I always thought that Senegalese are much better at cooking Thiebu Dien.

Where do I begin, the service here is remarkable. The owner/receptionist is so courteous, and pleasant. He makes the experience much better and will answer any questions you have about the food. The presentatiln of the food is beutiful. So far Ive tried the nems for appetizer which I love. Ive had yassa chicken and rice which is really good, and perfectly seasoned, the jallof rice with chicken is great too I dont have one bad thing to say about this place, I will definetly recommend to anyone looking to try African food, especially first timers. Also try the bissap drink its really good with a unique taste

I believe that a good stick to measure a business by is how they deal with problems when they come up and Chez Dior was 5 star plus for us today. My husband ordered maafe which always has a very tasty sauce and sufficient portion of meat to make you wish you have shared plates with someone. Unfortunately, when he went to eat it, what looked like a generous portion of meat wound up being two huge bones and little meat. We showed this to our waiter, who immediately remedied the situation with some extra meat. Excellent customer service!

This is a small family place that makes you think youve just gun off the street into a little restaurant in Dakar Senegal. Food is authentic, most of the customers are Senegalese the staff is friendly and they have Senegalese music videos on the TV screen. But the volume is not up for a high so its not obnoxious. The main thing is the food is delicious. Ive traveled in Senegal a few times and I can vouch for the fact that this is authentic , the real thing.

I had the beef jollof rice and it was excellent. Some "sauce" (really not sure what it was made of and forgot to ask) came with the meal that I poured over the beef and mixed with the provided hot pepper sauce and it was absolutely delicious. The rice was also very flavorful.

Came on a cool Monday evening, the place wasnt busy so service was quick. I was greeted by staff who was very friendly. Ordered the Dibi, which is grilled lamb shoulder. It was tender and flavorful. The ginger drink was pretty strong, but nothing worth losing a star over.

Delicious. The chef definitely has an attention to detail, and the owner sees to it that you are well taken care of. The food was great, there is a reason they have won so many awards in such a short time. We will be back.

Delicious West African food sold with huge portions that are tasty to the last bite. Grilled yassa chicken is a classic but dont miss the Thiebou Diene, a fragrant fish stew full of flavor.
