We had dinner at a nearby restaurant and wanted to do dessert elsewhere, so Google said this place had desserts so why not. Sweet Surrender Dessert Cafe has the feel of a cozy, hip, coffee shop, but with the added bonus of some very delectable desserts. After a very detailed discussion about each of the cakes, we made our selections. We each ordered a slice of cake and a cappuccino and wandered around the store looking at the artwork and digital pictures of some of their specialty cakes. Our slices and coffee came to us shortly and we enjoyed a pleasant and relaxed few minutes as we ate as much as we wanted before taking the rest home. The cake was excellent, not too sweet and very moist. They do have Vegan, and Gluten free options every day too, but we didnt try any of those this time. We will definitely make this a stop on future "date nights".

Every now and then I will satisfy my sweet tooth with something sweet, but I am sad to say that I will never satisfy it by going here ever again. When I pay $5.75 for a tiny, and I mean tiny, slice of cake it better be made by the hands of the greatest baker in the world and that when I take a bite out of it it better send me straight to the heavens. It did not do any of this in terms of taste. It just tasted like an ordinary piece of cake that was extremely small as well as overpriced. $5.75 can buy you a whole cake a Kroger believe it or not.

Their main speciality is cakes. Some of their work is very very impressive. Cake Boss level.. that being said, tonight we came for treats following my birthday celebration. Decent selection but we were not impressed with our treats. Mocha cake and tiramisu... Mocha was average and tiramisu was done in three scoops. Tiramisu did not have the characteristics you would expect. Mocha cake was bland. Maybe we just picked items which were not their strength. Service was friendly and we would consider coming again. Good spot for a late night treat.

This place is a gem. My fiance and I visited Louisville for rhe first time and were so happy to find this place tucked in an old neighborhood. We had a carrot cake and an oreo cake and they were both fantastic! The atmosphere was wonderful and the service was top notch. Aside: if you collect vinyl, be sure to visit the record shop next door.

I have been to sweet surrender many times and have never been treated as bad as I was 2 days ago. The cashier wasnt accomadating and I feel she even ignored me when I came in. Sweet surrender has gotten a lot of money and I even thought Id buy my wedding cake there, but this will never happen. I will never buy anything there again.

Delicious Last Minute Cake. I requested of Sweet Surrender a strawberry cake with white chocolate frosting for my daughters 16th birthday with four days to spare and they did it. They couldnt do the design I requested given the short time frame, but the cake was delicious! Would go back but this time with two weeks in advance.

I went with friends and there was such an amazing atmophere! The staff was really nice, helpful, and didnt mind waiting while I made up my mind! I plan on visiting whenever someone wants to see Louisville! The food itself was really good- the buttercream was sweet and fluffy, the cake moist and very well balanced!

Cute business with a fun atmosphere. The service was amazing and all of our questions were answered. We were given a thorough "tour" of the different desserts before ordering and the woman assisting us was very knowledgeable. The desserts were pretty good. We will definitely be returning to try other things.

Was looking for some vegan dessers for my friends Birthday. Saw this place online stopped itoday after work, and voy was it worth it. I got cookies gingerbread and snickerdoodle. They were delicious. Some of the best cookies Ive ever had. And he teally liked the cupcakes i got him. I will be coming back.

My girlfriend and I shared a slice of a cake that was almost Neapolitan - strawberry mouse layered on vanilla cheesecake layered on chocolate torte. Absolutely delightful, each layer was more decadent than the last. I wish I had the time and appetite (and funds) to sample everything on their menu.

The bakers at Sweet Surrender are pros. Always an amazing selection and I love the choices of beverages you get...Nothing like a glass of milk to go with your chocolate cake. Also appreciate that theyre open till 11. 90% of the time Im satisfying my craving after 9PM. Friendly staff.

Ive been here several times now, the red velvet cake is my personal favorite. I just enjoyed a piece of a mint julep chocolate cake, and my wife loved her piece of mocha concord. We love this place.
