My co-workers and I would regularly visit The Courtyard Deli for lunch. They had wonderful food and a great atmosphere. There are long lines every day - but the service is great and you can usually get your food pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I have seen some negatives about this restaurant lately, and i hate to say it, but my co-workers and I have decided that we probably wont be back to Courtyard for a while. The food is delicious; however, lately it seems that the portions have gotten extremely small. We are "Trio" fanatics. The Trio comes with Chicken, Tuna, or Egg Salad, pita chips, fresh fruit, lettuce, and a selection of cheeses. This is a very light lunch but very tasty as well and use to be quite filling. It seems to us that lately, the staff at courtyard are skimping. Instead of a good sized scoop of chicken salad you now reiceve a smaller portion, which seems to be maybe one to two tablespoons of salad total. The fruit is also lacking. You may get 4 or 5 grapes, one small chunk of cantelope, and possibly one strawberry. The cheeses are smaller than ever, and are usually a regular slice which has been cut in half. Instead of a large handful of Pita Chips - last time I got this trio (last week) i counted 5 chips. I guess they figure if they give less chicken salad, they can give less pita chips as well. The food is very tasty; however, if I am going to pay $8.00 for this - I want to get my moneys worth. It is extremely over priced for what I am getting. The last entree i got here was the Chicago beef Brisket. It came on a hogie roll, but the sandwich was about 5 inches long - and it was cut in half. I got two 2.5 inch pieces of bread, a little roast beef and a pickle spear and they did not give me the Au Jus that should have come with it. I just think that it is a rip-off that they have down sized their portions so dramatically. They will get no more of our business until they make thier food worth what theyre charging.

I went in for a boarshead chili dog. Hard to screw up Id think. But after being overcharged for it which they apologized for and fixed, but seemed annoyed that I brought it up. I went and sat down with my meal. The bun was completely split so the hot dog slipped out the bottom. Annoying, but not really their fault that happens with buns sometimes. The bun though had the distinct freezer burnt flavor and my hot dog was refrigerator cold. They had heated up the chili and forget to cook the hotdog.... at all. I could understand if they were understaffed and busy, but I was the only customer and there were 5 people behind the counter.

As a relative newcomer to downtown Lexington, I have found the Courtyard Deli to be an oasis in the desert. The food is AMAZING! The service if fantastic and you can always get a good laugh! They go out of their way to learn everyones names and always have a smile, despite the long lines and the frantic pace! Never have to wait too long, and regardless, the food is worth it! They old menu was great, but the new menu has selections for everyone and everything on it has been great! The daily specials can always be counted on to excite your palate and the menu staples are right there with them! Cant go wrong here!

I recently stumbled into this interesting place in Lexington. Its attached to an Antiques Gallery, of all things. Makes it a cool place to tour, though, either before or after lunch. Food is very good. Menu seems to change daily. They have a nice daily blog, too. Its clearly popular and seems to have a regular clientele, but the wait wasnt unreasonable. Soups and sandwiches, home made pies, too. Liked it. Recommend it for good, homestyle lunch, reasonably priced. Great atmosphere.

I have been a raving fan of Courtyard for YEARS! Each time I try something new or go back for an old favorite, I am always pleased. Today I had the black bean and corn salad - found myself wolfing it down. The food is always good, there is a huge selection that takes care of every palate or preference. I often plan a trip downtown based on the specials I get in my morning email. And you cant go wrong with "The Soup". When Krissy makes the mushroom and crab bisque it goes quickly.

I got a chance to try something new today. I got to try the chicken cordon blue soup. At first I wasnt to sure about this but I decided to give it a chance. Boy, Im glad I did. This soup reminded me of the soup my mother use to make when I was a little boy (hers didnt have a name). Its real thick and it really warms up your insides. I highly recommend this place to anyone who gets a chance to go here!

Love this place. I work downtown so I have lunch there probably twice a week. The food is consistently yummy and the combination of flavors is far from boring. I love the staff and with all of the regulars there it feels a bit like "Friends". Now that the weather is nice you cant beat the outdoor seating. Courtyard Deli gives life to downtown. Id give it 6 stars if I could.

Always a favorite, the crew at the Courtyard Deli has entered into the new year with a bang. The new bread bowl dishes are absolutely delicious. The Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo and the Asian Noodle Soup with Crab two of my favorite soups. If you have not tried The Courtyard Deli you are missing out.
