As a Chef, when i get the chance, and find a french inspired menu (being trained in classic french technique myself) i get uber excited. Baked brie served w/ fresh fruit was the first course we chose. Fruit selection was a bit questionable (wouldnt personally pair watermelon w/ that), beyond that, please dont cut my melon on the same board you cut onions. Second course was salads. My iceburg wedge was everything expected, half head of iceburg lettuce drenched w/ creamy bleu cheese dressing, bacon and cherry tomatoes. My girlfriend ordered the ceaser salad which oddly enough came with kalamata olives, roasted bell peppers, and pickled peppers (odd accompaniment for a ceaser). I ordered the Veal Francese for my entree. Cornstarch thicked white wine sauce gave it a less than desirable look, and mouth feel. The daily vegetables were steamed beyond recognition, and i could be wrong, but the dutchess potatoes tasted box made. The girlfriend ordered chicken piccata, and sauce was of the same concistancy as my veal, more cornstarch. On the other hand the service staff was friendly and very hospitable.

I came in at 8:00 on a Sunday (they close at 9:00). I sat at the bar and was waited on. I ordered the prime rib rare (dumb on my part with it being so late) and the server acknowledged that there were no rare pieces left but could do her best to get it close. The meal came with an over dressed salad that I was to eat with my hands or steal silverware from a table behind me. The prime rib came out and was easily Medium Well. I sent it back and ordered a rare filet. The filet came out rare but with no sear, no seasoning, no anything. Also I kept the mushroom side from before and ate that while they were cooking the steak, the broccoli side stayed on my plate and came back wilted and gross. The server only came to check on me after i was finished with the meal. In the end I was charged for my sides even though they were not fresh. All and all I had a really bad experience for a $50 meal. My server was Jen and she was not good. Also there was no paper towel in the restroom. The busboy was the best employee at the place.

This is a clean, nice, old place. the service is friendly, competent. The food is very ordinary and not the best the chef could offer. Vegs are not fresh rather frozen. Salad dressings are not made on site. the soups are just like too many other places. My steak had been tenderized. Another night the rack of lamb was over cooked. The sides are way too ordinary for the cost. All said, the best Richmond has to offer. The place is filled with business travelers. a few locals. It would be nice if the chef were to offer a few nightly specials, maybe a fresh vegetable or a sauce for a steak...something. Im not suggesting he go back to cooking school, only that he stretch his skills a bit.

Requested to know what meat is in a soup and told the server that I specifically do not eat pork. I was told it was beef. However, it tasted like pork and another server confirmed this. Nobody was in the least apologetic, although I was personally appalled. This is incredibly unprofessional - misrepresenting an ingredient can have important consequences for someone if they have allergies or ethical/religious reasons for selecting food choices. Management did not seem interested.... and my main course (chicken marsala) was way too salty. Would never go back to this restaurant.

Came in on a Wednesday and got seated right away. I thought it would be more quaint from the reviews. We got a shrimp appetizer and it was paired with with a fryer chicken strips? Salad was ok. The fench onion soup tasted like it was from GFS. We order blue cheese Encrusted filet minon red warm - medium rare - it came out pink. The wait staff was ok - could have been more informed about dished.

We went on mothers day & my fathernlaw can be somewhat hard to please but he said that was the best primerib EVER. Our waitress was a very attentive young woman who although they were packed, kept our drinks filled as well as empty dishes removed quickly. Oh and she was an American not an illegal, lol. We will keep going back!

If youre ever in Richmond IN, I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is exquisite (and appropriately priced), the atmosphere is warm and charming and the service is second to none. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrive until we departed. Altogether an outstanding and memorable dining experience.

We have enjoyed this place for 25 years. Always a delicious meal and fabulous service. Steaks are the best in town! I enjoy eating lunch here a few times a month. Their lunch prices are very resonable and I highly recommend having your next business lunch there.

This is my favorite restaurant. It is a very nice place; great food; great service; and the best coffee in town. If you want a upscale dining experience, this is the place. I always make reservations if we are going on the weekend. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We went for a dessert one evening and service was nice, very laid back atmosphere. I had a my first creme brulee, and I really enjoyed it, though I have nothing to compare it to. It was very well caramelized on the top, something I really enjoyed.

Second attempt at a decent meal. They have no idea what French onion soup is. I thought the first time had to be a mistake since it was so bad. I try to give places a second chance. This food is expensive. Wont go again.

Great place with great food. Have not had an entree that was less than 5 stars. Excellent appetizers and desserts. They have private rooms for dinner meetings and wait staff is professional and courteous.

Easily the best restaurant in Richmond, IN. It knows that and is over priced. Sadly "the best restaurant in Richmond" is more of a comment on the competition and not an endorsement of the quality.

Excellent food, especially their seafood and excellent service. Not cheap by any means, but in this case, you get what you pay for.

Great atmosphere, but high prices and mediocre food. Its the best atmosphere in Richmond. I just wish the food was better.

Tasty, traditional American fare served by pleasant staff, albeit a little slow at times. A nice way to spend an evening.
