Usually a nice crowd of regulars. There tenderloin sandwich is really good. I get the grilled tenderloin with extra pickles and fries. The only downfall to the place Id they allow smoking, but your in a bar so if you dont like it you could go some where else. They also have specials on the food every once and a wile. I have the ham n beans and a huge peace of cornbread.

The Local is made for hanging out with fiends and meeting new people. Its the kind of place I feel comfortable hanging out alone because of the friendly atmosphere. Doug, the owner, is the best and has a true passion for his bar and food. If you arent satisfied all you have to do is let him know and he takes great care of you. Will return!

So, I had heard that the hamburgers from the Local are the best in town. Because smoking is allowed in the bar, I ordered carry-out burgers for four with everything. When I arrived home and unwrapped my burger - it was naked, so disappointing! It tasted OK, but you know.

The owner is a really fun guy and the local is a very inviting place (and one of the few smoke friendly bars left in lafayette). Highly recommend giving this place a chance.
