I am deathly allergic to a certain food item, and eating out always makes me a bit uneasy. When ordering, the first thing I told the waitress was about my allergies and that I needed to make sure that everything would be prepared accordingly. She assured me that they would accommodate. My food was brought out and it looked like the item I STRESSED I was allergic to, was on my plate. She assured me 2 or 3 times that it wasnt, and said that I was okay to eat. I know better, so I asked her to just go check in the back. She came back out, told me that it was IN FACT the item that I was allergic to (Epi-Pen in my leg allergic too) and said "sorry" and theyd bring me another dinner. I couldnt believe it!! The manager then came out, brought me my new plate, said "sorry about that, this one should be good." Wow - let me tell you how reassured I was to eat my dinner at this point. I could have seriously died, and these two clowns, treated it like it was no big deal. I ate a few bites, ended up getting sick from some kind of cross-contaimination anyways. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES, CLEARLY THEY DONT PAY ATTENTION!!

Although the owners are not new to the restaurant business, I find in interesting that they like many others no longer know what "taste" is. That word seems to be replaced by "Angus" and other truly over rated cuts. Its called get back to the basics of cooking and seasoning. Also the idea of casual does not mean rolling off the tractor and to the dinner table. Perhaps a sign explaining the definition would help or advising callers when receiving reservations. Although civilization had invaded this former farming area, there is always room for a nice place to dress up a bit. The fried calamari appetizer barely fed three for the price. It was also very overcooked. The waitress arrived with our drinks overspilling and dripped them over the table and us as well. Restaurants really need to outline "etiquette". Seems the locals are too busy whining that they cant sit next to you when taking your order. The steaks were not impressive, again lacking taste. It was simply a dead piece of meat on the place.

First of all, this establishment is no where near "upscale-casual dining". My husband and I compared it to Ponderosa Steakhouse [if that even exists anymore]. I ordered a steak and he ordered the medallions on special. My steak was not only under-cooked, it tasted terribly. My husbands as well. The quality of the meat was lacking. We both had French onion soup prior to our meals and that too was subpar. We are used to dining at Hugo-Frog Bar and maybe that is the problem. However, I would have been more satisfied with a dinner from the DQ next door. Not to mention, our dinner was still nearly $100. Not worth it at all. Once again, DQ or McDonalds would have been a better choice.

The salad was a bit small but everything else was excellent. The New York Strip was very tasty, tender, generously cut, and cooked perfectly. The other food was great also including their Roma salad dressing. It was so good I talked them into giving me a pint to take home. Reservations were without a hitch and we were promptly seated with a choice of seating. Decor was really nice and our server was not only prompt, efficient, and competent, but she was fun to work with as well. Highly recommended.

We have been here about 5 times in the past year and every time we go we have a great meal and wonderful service. The manager is very accommodating and friendly as are the staff. Food is very good, portions are appropriate for the price. Do not forget to ask for the onion straws as a side (it is not listed), you wont be sorry. Make reservations on Friday and Saturday or you will be waiting for up to an hour or more.

Terrible place to work for! All employees in the back barely speak English. A college student like me who can out cook them cant even move up in this establishment because they all want to speak Spanish while obviously I speak perfect English. Only Resteraunt in Yorkville that doesnt feed their employees. Pathetic!

The $27 filet was overcooked. Soggy piece of bread floating in the juice. Looked pretty. The other dish, pot roast burger was ok...although its not a burger but a pulled beef sandwich. Fries tasted frozen. Waitress was nice. Resturant is beautiful. Food is over priced and just okay. $80 ticket so not worth it.

A place I visit close to monthly . Always sit at the bar. The bar staff is always on top of things. Martini prices seem a little high, but most beverages are reasonably priced. Best appetizers in town. Try the baked artichokes. The strawberry mojito is seasonal, but oh so good. Over all YUM!

I used to go here every week in high school. The family that owns and operates this restaurant are always friendly and when his daughter used to work here I loved coming in to see her. She always remembered me and took the time to sit down and talk with me about whats new in each others lives.

We had our small wedding reception at Blackstone. The staff went above and beyond to help and make our special day nice! The food was so good! And a variety is available to satisfy anyone! The atmosphere is relaxed and nicely decorated!
