My Review in 2: SHEER BLISS Have you found Bliss? Longtime area resident Maria Weisbruch and husband Scott have added a touch of warmth and class to Main Street Wauconda with their recently-opened Bliss Wine and Gifts. Bliss offers a carefully chosen collection of 140 wines from around the world at a variety of price points, including quality value wines as low as $8.99 a bottle, as well as a good selection of microbrew beers. If like me youre one of the many who mourn the recent closing of Kelley Cellars in Barrington (one of Chicagolands finest wine shops), you will find much to recognize at Bliss: a warm and stylish decor, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, a tasteful variety of wine-related gifts for sale, a generous assortment of wines to taste each weekend, and even a familiar face (the delightful Jennifer from Kelleys is now on the Bliss team) welcoming customers to the Bliss experience. Note: Bliss actually offers free tasting every day, with a featured white and red wine available during the week in addition to the Friday-Saturday weekend tastings of multiple wines. In addition to bottle sales, Bliss offers a generous pour for sale by the glass or half-glass, served at their tasting bar or at several bistro tables with a nice slice of view of Bangs Lake -- a great spot to chill and decompress after the workday. Maria is working with local Wauconda high school art students on their creation of a full wall mural as the focal point of their private tasting area and (future) art gallery, supporting the local arts community by providing a unique space to display and sell art on consignment. Bliss also is available as a stylish spot to host private parties/wine tasting events; contact Maria for details. Bliss is open 11am-6pm Tues-Wed, 11am-7pm Thurs-Fri, and 11am-5pm Saturdays. Finding it was a treat, and I highly recommend stopping by soon to treat yourself to a generous taste of Bliss.

Warm cozy local wine bar. The friendliest staff, noteable nibbles, with a line up of at least 10 wines (which changes weekly) for sampling, sipping, and savoring by the glass. Outstanding local music 3 nights a week, Special events, etc. Worthy of becoming "facebook friends" with just to keep up on the constant stream of events. Bliss is the early bird when it comes to closing time, but I use that to my advantage by telling my friends that "I closed a bar last night" lol

A great selection of wine & craft beers in a warm & friendly environment. Wine tastings everyday & beer tastings on Thursday! Great way to try new wines & beers! Lu e music Thursday-Saturday. My favorite place to go!
