This little store is Fabulous! It has a wonderful deli with many Italian dishes, all of which you can get to go for a great lunch to go along with the sub sandwich they will make for you. They also have 3 to 4 different soups each day and they have homemade Chile each day. Their shelves are stocked with a variety of Italian tomatoes to varieties of wines and liquors. Their refrigerator section has several varieties of dishes to take home and heat up for dinner. Their homemade sauce and meatballs are to die for, and they have every type of pasta you could think of. You could certainly bring home a complete meal from Frangella s including a yummy cannoli or gelato.

So Im comparing this to my local Italian deli in tinley park. My wife and I had Italian beef and chicken parm sandwich. They were roughly 6-7$, and tasted really good. the sandwich size is my only issue, at my local place they are bigger and cheaper. Frangella were about 8inches. Another gripe that maybe my deli has me spoiled with is, the prosciutto di Parma was on sale so I grabbed a half pound, my deli trims alot of the fat off before slicing, where they didnt, so roughly 20% of each slice is all fat. other than that place had great selection and some nice sales.

The Hungry Hound picked Frangella as the best Italian Beef in the suburbs. I dont agree. I was decent, but not top-tier. My partner got the Chicken Parmesan sandwich, and that was amazing. The arancini we got from the deli were incredible. Probably the best Ive ever had. Worth a stop if youre in the area, but not worth a special trip.

Weve been shopping at Frangellas for many years and have always been very impressed with their deli. We tried the tiramisu for the first time recently and it was more like cake with a custard filling... Try everything else but stay away from the tiramisu.
